“There was blood everywhere. We have investigators who have been on the job for 20, even 30, years, and they say they have never seen anything like this,” a police source told the Daily Mail at the time.
SBMFF

If there was all that blood there's no way he didn't get some on his car, shoes, clothing & skin. I'll bet a big amount of moola that they found at least 1 of the victim's DNA in his car.

No. A state crime. No out of state transfer if convicted. No other state would want to deal with an Idaho criminal. JMO

ETA: I stand corrected. Apparently there are cases of interstate transfer, as noted by other posters in later posts below.

Idaho also exports state prisoners to CCA's Kit Carson Correctional Center in Colorado.[3]

It evidently bothers a lot of people that others watch flight data. Don't believe he's on the lear 45, however. Appears the PSP Pilatus is direct to Pullman/Moscow.
Lear Jets are used by Federal Agencies....Pennsylvania State Police do NOT spend their resources on that.

I have never heard renewing your vehicles registration on your Bday in my life, a drivers license renewal yes but not an automobile registration.... The date of registration is the same date as when the car was purchased.

What am I missing here?
This must be something that varies from state to state. My auto registration and license tags are renewed annually—due the month of my birthday. After the state required auto inspection (emission test) is done & passed, I submit the proof of passed inspection and then a few weeks later I receive a sticker in the mail that goes onto the license plate which verifies the registration is good until the month/year of my next birthday. Easy way for LE to look at a vehicle without necessarily stopping it to see if the license plate/registration expired.

“Georgia's Clean Air Force (GCAF) recommends testing your vehicle four to six weeks prior to the registration renewal date (the vehicle owner's birthday) to allow ample time for any needed repairs and retests.”

Yes. Also off topic, but I remember as clear as yesterday watching the skies empty of all planes on 9/11. To me, that was a distressing and terrifying sight.
Yes! We lived near an airport at that time and had very loud jet noises all the time which you basically learn to block out. When the air traffic stopped, it was eerily quiet.

No one will ever convince me this is the most efficient way to do this. JMO.

From the Idaho iCourt weblink for public Cases of Interest, based on my observation, I offer the following of what we might encounter relative to information on this Idaho case:

1. Defendants Vallow and Daybell were indicted by the grand jury and therefore not arrested on information and complaint, and no PCA was filed.

2. Defendant A.A. Von Ehlinger (Ada County CR01-21-34839) was arrested on information and complaint and his case documents include but are not limited to the following:
  • Criminal Complaint
  • PCA form (cover sheet only) https://coi.isc.idaho.gov/docs/case/CR01-21-34839/PC Minute Sheet.pdf
  • STATE'S MOTION TO CLOSE PRELIMINARY HEARING TO THE PUBLIC AND/OR PLACE LIMITS ON AUDIO/VISUAL COVERAGE OF THE PRELIMINARY HEARING
  • DEFENDANTS OBJECTION MOTION TO CLOSE PRELIMINARY HEARING TO THE PUBLIC AND/OR PLACE LIMITS ON AUDIO/VISUAL COVERAGE OF THE PRELIMINARY HEARING
  • MEDIA REQUEST TO INSPECT SEALED DOCS (DENIED BY THE COURT PURSUANT TO ICAR 32(g) and (i)).
________________________

IMO, if Idaho Media does not have a consortium group ready to file First Amendment Motions then I hope Reporter Brian Entin's parent group is getting their docs ready!

There's currently a Gag Order by the Court, stipulated by the parties-- that was signed by the Judge even before the PCA could be unsealed.

If the PCA remains sealed for any extended length, how will the public know the strength of the State's case against BK? How can the defense make a statement about their case in support of their client to overcome the allegations by "unnamed sources" that are currently circulating?

Yup, I think the public (and Media) is going to need some help!

<modsnip>

Florida is birthday.

Really?? I had no idea... so just that I understand. Lets say you purchase a new car January 1st, pay all the TT&L, you get ur new valid plates in a couple of weeks but they will expire when your Bday rolls around (for example) on March 15th and you have to register the vehicle again?

You’re missing the fact that every state is, in its own way, a sovereign state, with its own laws. (Unless the federal government’s laws override things—and the federal government doesn’t care too much about the timing of car registrations.)

So, expect different rules for car registrations, different definitions for burglary and first degree murder, a variance of opinion on whether turning right on a red light should be legal....

So regarding my question about the car registration change, I was wondering if it was relevant. I was under the impression that his parents owned the car and that it was registered in PA (his permanent residence) while he studied and did TA work in Washington state.
But, at some point the car was registered to BK (not parents) and so the plate change. And he would need to change insurance and have a valid Washington DL. His permanent residence is Washington, not PA.
I know lots of reasons for why he would make the changes.

You must be better at getting a direct flight than me from and to Boise...or they just aren't available to where I want to go.:)
Really, a direct flight from the east coast to Boise? That's a unicorn! Layovers usually in Denver or MN.

I wonder if they might drive by the Kings Road location from the airport to jail?
No its not on the route and they will not make an unnecessary detour.

Pullman is very remote and closer to Spokane than Boise. Pullman is not even on the same time zone as Boise.

I don't want my argument to get lost in the details. It's not so much about one particular way to do it or one particular destination. My point is just that I am very skeptical that an all-day flight with repeated stops along the way was the best way to transport this person.

I've been watching these body cam videos over and over. In the first one, it appears that when asked by the officer "where are ya'll headed" he says "we're going to get some Thai food right now". imo, the "right now" could be thrown in there to deliberately withhold their ultimate destination, or it could be since they have such a long journey, with likely many small stops on the way, that he interpreted the question as where right this moment are you going and they were in fact headed to a Thai restaurant. After the dad says "well we're coming from WSU" and then its very hard to hear.. but the officer asks what WSU is and they state Washington State University - BK indicates that that he goes there and that there was an incident going on there. (then the officer says he is having a hard time hearing them so its a little jumbled) but then the officer asks "and what were you saying about a swat team" BK starts to explain that there was an incident at the university and he indicates that he got an alert on his phone notifying him about the situation. I did some research on the shooting, and it does say in every article that after 3:00am (PST) they sent out alerts to all of the students about the situation. That would have been 6:00am IN time. From the looks of it on the bodycam - it is about 10:45am when this is taking place. IMO - BK got the alert, and became excited at the thought that there was possibly an attempted arrest/ultimate takedown of a suspect in the Idaho murders. Then the dad says "its horrifying, because he goes to the university, ya know?" As a parent, I think it's normal for the father to be acting this way about this because at that point they don't even know all the details and when something like that happens right by where your child lives, the very school they attend, it feels personal to you. The way he was bringing it up after the Thai food comment, it's possible that he was saying they were going to stop to get some food while also getting some information about the alert he got/the situation happening back at his university. Something else I noticed - everything I am seeing saws the two traffic stops happened minutes from each other. However - and I could be wrong - it looks like the first one was around 10:45am and the second one looks like it has a timestamp at the beginning of the video of 15:50:14, which would be 3:50?
If the time stamps are accurate, it's not minutes, its hours..10:45 to 3:50? How long does it take to traverse the state of Indiana?
The 1122 King St address? I thought it was established it was private housing, not university owned. Am I wrong?
1122 King St. is a private residence leased (rented) to the victims. BK's residence in Pullman, WA is campus housing for graduate students and their families.

Snipped for focus. Since we can't always tell tone online, please believe I'm not being snarky when I ask this. How do you know? I would think a smaller aircraft with all the landing and take-offs would cost more in the end, not to mention longer flight time. MOO.
Per this site, hourly costs for a 737-400 are about 8x those of a PC-12.

I think it all depends on not only what state you live in, but also which city. I found that out after seeing your post and wondering why I haven't had one in a long time and my car is a 2015. I remember getting them frequently-ish before I moved here. Goog'ed for it and apparently there are only 2 areas in my state that require it. One that makes sense to me as it's large, the other makes no sense as it's small.

Appears they don't do them in WA state.

After 38 years, Washington will stop giving emissions tests to vehicles as of January 1, 2020.

I wish they would in my state/area. I get why they do it, but I drive maybe 5 miles a week and my husband stopped driving almost 3 years ago.

Anyone from Indiana ever been pulled over for following too closely? Is this something they are strict on?
Oh, Oh, Oh,

IMO do not break traffic laws in Indiana! Especially on the Tollroad I-90. I've never seen as many patrol cars and speed traps in my life. This is nothing new, it's been going on for years.

Don't say I didn't warn you!

JMO from many years of personal observation;)
