You don't just bring prisoners on public transportation if that's what you're suggesting. From a pure liability perspective, no commercial airplane is going to just accept him as a passenger.

Friends, this isn't the mastermind of an accounting fraud. This is someone accused of murdering 4 people with a knife at close range stabbing them all multiple times. He's not going to sit in the exit row chatting with grandma about his PhD thesis, complaining about babies crying on the plane.

I hate to break it to everyone, but law enforcement is not the most efficient group around and sometimes they just have to put an arrested allegedly violent and dangerous person on a dinky little plane that needs an occasional pitstop.

Simple accounting, a plane has a purchase price, an depreciation and operations cost, and a cost per hour of fuel. There is no question the PC12 is less at every one of those. It has nothing to do with a single passenger. A PC12 has 11 seats, I didn't count, but it appears there was BK and 3 or 4 LE.

States don't tend to operate jests that have higher cost in all the areas. A turbo prop fits their typical travel, and they probably seldom take a 3500 mile trip.

I could see where he may actually engage with LE on this flight, it's more relaxed and they are probably talking among themselves.

Except that Bryan has been reported to be awkward in social situations and not much of a talker.

The State does not have to supply a motive even during the trial, let alone a PCA.

You know, I was just thinking that the defense attorney might do the client no favor by rubbing in the idea of ‘no motive.’ If the other evidence has convinced the jury that he did it, it might just make them think: “He did this monstrous crime without even having a motive for it? That’s someone who should never be let loose!”

And the reason that there’s no obligation to show motive is—there’s a lot of crimes committed for motives that no normal people can understand.

LE is not interested in efficiency above security. They want to be certain that nothing goes awry. This case is already costing $$$. They have a lot invested…literally and figuratively.

Honestly, from all aspects - both efficiency and security - the way they're doing this makes no sense to me. MOO.

If they wanted to charter a jet, I imagine they'd have to go to an airport (on both ends) whose runway is long enough to accommodate a larger plane. It's possible that he would have to be transported out of JFK and into Boise with a larger plane, which adds a HUGE amount of security concern. This is the best option. JMO

No because he will be in an Idaho State prison. He will stay in the State of Idaho but some Idaho prisoners do get incarcerated at CCA's Kit Carson Correctional Center in Colorado.

Also, if an inmate in State prison is at high risk of being attacked or otherwise targeted by other inmates, especially if the inmate is high profile from alot of media coverage, then the inmate can be sent to a State prison in a different State.

The Federal prison system is different.

The Federal prison system has prisons all over the Country and they try to place inmates within 500 miles of their families. It depends though. If an inmate needs a particular service or a particular type of security that is not offered at a prison closer to their family, then they could still be housed further away. Further than the 500 mile radius.

Lear Jets are used by Federal Agencies....Pennsylvania State Police do NOT spend their resources on that.

I realize that, but that not correct 100% of the time. Regardless, the Lear 45 is on the ground at glacier national park several hundred miles from Moscow. I highly doubt the Pennsylvania State Police are just taking theirs on a joyride to Pullman/Moscow for the fun of it....

No. The registration date is dependant on when the car was initally registered. It's your drivers license that needs to be renewed on your birthday.

So does this mean the changing of the registration from WA to PA and a new license plate may appear suspicious? I do secretly wish he is not guilty but maybe if he was leaving the car in PA he was being kind to his mother and saving her work. He said, "I love you" to them per many witnesses in the hearing. There are some leaked texts about the case that I know we should not share here. The scene is cited as being "tears" and "gashes" not typical stabs (on record in numerous places from weeks ago and substantiated by other media sources).

This flight has completely changed my view of private jet travel. It takes way longer than I ever imagined!!!

To be fair they are on a single engine prop plane. This is not a jet. They are travelling between 197 and 230 knots so that is about half the speed of most private jets.

ETA: They are only at 22,000 feet too.

In regards to high profile cases, oftentimes, I high profile attorney, or other private attorney will take the case Pro Bono for the "advertisement" purposes thru media reporting. Case in point: Jodi Arias

Right now this is the #1 tracked flight in the world and fits the plane description and lack of registration info... so he's probably standing somewhere in an airport waiting for a canceled flight on Southwest. IMO this is the correct Pilatus PC-12.

Before you call public defenders lazy, you should look into how many cases they are assigned. I carry about 20-30 active cases at any point. The average public defender in my small state has over 150 assigned. There is a physical limit to the work you can do on each case if the state keeps assigning you new cases with deadlines just considering the hours in the day. Not to mention they are then paid less than school teachers for thankless work for (often) bad people.
