The PCA does not say the mask ONLY covered the mouth and nose. Words matter, and small mistakes are how bad info gets started.
IMO, the PCA that I read said so.

Well with the loud thud, dog barking and having just encountered a male in x's bedroom I think he didn't want to possibly risk running into other males in the house. He also may have been tired and got what he wanted psychologically.
Speaking of the loud thud…

Do we have any idea what this noise could have possibly been due to?

I have not heard any news reports as to what the loud thud could have been attributed to…

I'm just going to guess that he slammed x to the floor.

Could be Ethan falling out of the bed? IMO

Sure, it doesn't say it "only" covered the mouth and nose but it states it covered his mouth and nose. We all know it didn't cover his bushy eyebrows because DM noticed them even in her shock. My guess? It covered exactly what the affidavit said and no more (his mouth and nose without using the word 'only'). JMO!

ETA - I'd think if it was something like a ski mask she's have said "a ski mask" and not a "mask that covered his mouth and nose". All MOO

He definitely trimmed his eyebrows between his arrest on 12/30 and his court appearance in Idaho on 1/5. Not so bushy anymore.

If the Moscow police were being truthful with their initial release of info, on their website they stated,

"On November 13th, the surviving roommates summoned friends to the residence because they believed one of the second-floor victims had passed out and was not waking up. At 11:58 a.m., a 911 call requested aid for an unconscious person. The call was made from one of the surviving roommates’ cell phones inside the residence. Multiple people talked with the 911 dispatcher before Moscow Police arrived at the location. Officers entered the residence and found two victims on the second floor and two victims on the third floor." King Road Homicides | Moscow, ID

This states that they called their friends because they thought someone was passed out/unconscious. Which again makes me wonder how they knew someone was passed out. It means someone had to have found the victims or at least one of the victims, right? Or it means DM knew something bad had happened and waited in her room until noon. If DM thought nothing bad happened then what made them call their friends then the police (again unless they found a body.)
IMO, it’s hard to differentiate. Could one on the roommates have seen XK on the floor? Or could one of the roommates had passed out when finding the dead bodies? It’s very hard to know the sequence of events

Bringing over from previous thread:

Sorry I missed your point. I guess it wasn't considered relevant to the PCA where in X's room E was found. But it could be relevant to the prosecution's case in terms of how each of them was attacked & wounded (e.g., to totally disable/eliminate someone like E who might be able to physically stop or hinder the murderer, versus someone who could not physically stop them and was killed outright/in a different manner based on forensic evidence) & in what order, that could be critical to revealing how the murders were planned out and/or accomplished.

I've always thought E represented the greatest possible impediment to committing the murders uninterrupted, and have also thought the attack on him was perhaps much more vicious for this reason, and he may have been found in an especially gruesome position or condition, so LE has held back on details about E's murder on purpose because it wouldn't matter in terms of arresting him... yet... at this stage..., and might be too shocking and damaging to his family to have it be public knowledge that he was treated differently by the killer to include in a PCA. JMOO
I agree regarding Ethan's injuries, but in the end I think (this is a big MOO) that Murphy was the impediment leading to BCK's distraction and leaving the knife sheath behind. Imagine the dog's response to the killer in Maddie's room and then Kaylee crossing the hall saying, "There's someone here," with Kaylee running straight into him and Murphy already there. I believe Kaylee came from her own room and will think this until BCK says otherwise. Which would explain the difference in Kaylee's wounds which were more like tears because she was standing up when he slashed her from lungs to liver. Then he flung her on the bed with Maddie while the dog was going nuts, really really nuts. Doodles may not be barkers but blood pouring out of his two favorite people would turn him into one. Except BCK didn't want to kill an animal so he locked Murphy in Kaylee's bedroom and, in the midst of barking and scratching becoming a huge glitch in his perfect plans, the killer hurried downstairs to complete his purpose, knowing that the noise might alert the household... taking the knife but completely forgetting the knife sheath.

Thank god for small favors. Those eyebrows were a tad unnerving to me.

With that said... do you think he did that because a witness actually called them out in the affidavit? Hmmmm...

FWIW, this is a huge hardship for BK's family. They are victims in this situation. Do they fly to Idaho for each hearing to support their son? Find money for an attorney for him? Which could easily run over a million dollars, especially if this is a death penalty case. I doubt this family has that type of money available.

5 days ago — Kohberger's parents cannot afford a lawyer for him, so he will have to have a public defender in Idaho, LaBar said.

I may have missed it since haven’t seen the significance of this line from the PCA discussed; any thoughts on how it could connect without being there?

Investigators found that the 8458 Phone did connect to a cell phone tower that provides service to Moscow on November 14, 2022, but investigators do not believe that the 8458 Phone was in Moscow on that date. The 8458 Phone has not connected to any towers that provide service to Moscow since that date.

I don't know why Xana wouldn't have had her room light on, if she was ordering food, and coming and going from the room to get the food. If she had her light on, the killer should have seen it. And if she got up because she heard something, I'd think she would have turned the light on then.

She might have kept the light off if Ethan was asleep.

The whole lighting situation in the house (lights on, lights off, night lights, string lights?) wasn't really mentioned in the affidavit, that I recall.

Neighbor said they heard a scream around 4:00AM, but dismissed it as a party noise

IMO, this is interesting because ONLY Mr Harsh came forward with this info. This info coincides with an intruder entering the house, but why only Harsh coming forward?

With that said, do you think it is odd that the university would so quickly refer to him as a "past student?" This might be a boring or dumb question but it is as though they are rushing to judgment that he has been found guilty.

Guilty or not, being charged with quadruple murder I doubt he's going to be getting out on bail. Trials of this magnitude generally take at least a year, and often several, to work their way through the court. He's definitely not going to be currently enrolled if he's sitting in jail for a year or three, awaiting trial, so that alone would make him a 'past student' IMO.

I also assumed it only covered his mouth and nose tbh. If his eyebrows were visible then it's unlikely to have been a mask with only the eyes cut out as they cut off before the brow

That's what I thought, that most masks that show the eyes don't show the brows. I was thinking about ski masks. But apparently, some masks do cover the nose and mouth and hair but reveal the eyes and eyebrows. They just have bigger eyeholes. I saw examples of a few ski masks when googling. Another example is this balaclava.

IMO there are times in life that are so beyond imagining that when they become reality many people cannot believe it... even when directly faced with the horrific truth. I'm guessing Mrs. Kohberger and her daughters are heading for a similar reckoning sometime in the future. However, I think the father had a damn good idea when he interjected a SWAT team/WSU shooting into the conversation with cop who stopped the Elantra. The officer's body language was all too clear when he leaned in.

I have not heard any news reports as to what the loud thud could have been attributed to…

Well, if the outside foundation wall does have blood leaking out as speculated, perhaps the thud was EC hitting the wall as he was murdered?

MOO.

There are multiple towers that cover Moscow and surrounding areas. There's one specific tower that, if a phone is connected to, then it must be within the area around Queen st. There are an additional two towers that cover all of moscow plus surrounding areas. So the phone could be connected to one of those, but not necessarily be in Moscow.

seemed to have a hair cut too IMO, and clean shaven. If he is in some strict confinement, how does all this grooming occur? Assume (?) that he is not allowed sharp objects?
