Completely agree. The Afadavit quoting her as being in a "frozen shock phase" when she saw him walked past her in a way may overstate her actual frame of mind. I agree with your view. She may have been momentarily shocked by this person but it didnt rise to the level of grave concern. Nor did the other strang noises. Something was going on, she didnt know what it was, went back to bed and never heard another thing. Then woke up to a living nightmare. God love her.

I agree. There were quite a few people coming and going in that house. The stairs, hallways,entry/exit doors,kitchen were common areas. Young people think & react differently. Maybe she honestly did not know what to exactly think of it & she was tired. That simple.
I know my college age DD did not like drama, conflict or confrontation.

Absolutely. You had to be able to read text showing you had the required eyesight just like an eye exam. If you used corrective lenses to do so then there was a condition on the driver's license that they must be worn during operation.

With BK's past education, including an undergraduate degree in cloud-based forensics (page 11 via the PCA), I'm intrigued as to what FBI forensics professionals will discover. Even if he used a VPN to hide his IP, which can be unreliable at times, and based on what we know thus far, he had to slip up. Whether he wiped his computer or not, he's guilty either way; that would raise the same suspicion as when he turned his phone off during the murders. FBI forensics professionals will also find any accounts he created with his email address, subpoena those accounts, and find a lot more evidence. MOO.

Agree that iris color can change, it actually does in at least 10-15% of people (Why eyes change color as you age).

Mine were dark brown until I was a preteen, when they lightened to a topaz color with flicks of brown and green, and then went to hazel when I was a late teen, then they lightened to full-on green by the time I was in my late 20s which is the color they are today. In my case, it seems like it's entirely due to a loss of melanin over time. My father's eyes also got lighter with age and his are almost blue now.

Very interesting — I did not realize the actual eye color can change over time.

I also wondered if he referred to himself idiomatically as a fair hair child, meaning that he had always been well mannered and even favored before the onset of VS.

Based on the scab on BK"s middle right knuckle observed during the IN traffic stop, I suspect BK punched either EC or XK. The thudding noise may be associated with their body being knocked into the wall or a bookshelf. Just a theory, MOO.

I'm not sure that's an explanation that will ever be required. My sense is that this case will revolve around regular forensics rather than digital forensics and car sightings. While helpful for the PCA, I just can't imagine a lot of time being devoted to these things in the trial, if they have (as reported) his DNA at the scene; and even more damning, if they have the victims' DNA in his car or on his belongings.

Of course I could be wrong.

But you're proposing an alternate explanation that he wasn't stalking, he was buying drugs. Which is why I'm asking you your alternate explanation.

What I saw what you allude to . . . it seems this suspect was trying to find and stay in treatment and also channel energies into other pursuits. I wish we could have more open discussions and more high level access to information about mental health. It can be really hard if alone and outside of larger urban areas with resources and experts--Philly is mentioned but who knows if they made it there or if it was helpful treatment. <modsnip> Yet, there are many odd involvements. I think it is hard to prove that all 4 murders were done "willfully, deliberately, with premeditation and with malice of afterthought."

I understand, humans are compassionate in nature. I do feel bad for him when I saw him on TV. I digress, there are criminals who were abused and neglected. Jeffrey Dahmer suffered a traumatic childhood abused. Many were failed by the adults around them and sometimes, by the system. BK suffered neither. He has supportive parents and siblings, he appeared to have grown up with a normal childhood in the suburb. There was no history of abused. He was even let go twice by police for a traffic violations with no tickets (twice, 10 minutes apart). Instead of mental illness (which is unverified), most likely he did it for the thrill or his thesis.

I had an extremely traumatic childhood and have so many DSM disorders I can barely keep track (mostly pattern stuff which is why I puzzle on WS so much!) BUT I've never killed anybody and actually quite the opposite. I save bugs/ living things and was even sensitive to inanimate objects for a long time as a child/teenager. So- it's something inside a person that science hadn't figured out yet that makes a killer IMO. Definity nature- not nuture. Experienced IMO, JMO, MOO

If BK truly did have Visual Snow Syndrome was he formally diagnosed with this chronic disease or did he self diagnose?

If BK has VSS and the reported heroin use in High School is also true, it sounds as if he may have been self medicating. Now some stories from his past start making more sense. Using heroin, losing weight, diet to eradicate a medical condition. Things are starting to come together.

One would wonder how BK was able to secure a Driver’s License as VSS would cause visual impairment and typically you can’t drive if your vision is severely impacted. Also a lot of late night activity which, if he has VSS makes it harder see in the dark. Why was he out and about in the wee hours of the morning when he risked more impairment? His vision challenges didn’t seem to cause him schooling difficulties. He was able to study, take part in class, teach etc., somewhat effectively.

Now it makes perfect sense for his father to fly out to help him drive cross country. BK wouldn’t be able to drive that great a distance safely without assistance.

VSS is a neurological disease NOT a mental health disease however, it has been linked to the mental health conditions such as schizophrenia.

Be interesting to see if this condition comes into play.

The defense will surely have a jury look hard at the cellular network in Moscow. From what I’ve been reading, AT&T is spotty in some areas of that town.

For those of you who live there, do you know of this? In my town, there are certain neighborhoods where I lose all my bars and I’m on the most robust unlimited AT&T plan they offer here.

I did find an article showing the network’s and town’s awareness of the problem, and their inability to provide a solution. They specifically discuss East Moscow:

“According to the Board of Adjustment's packet, the tower would have filled a significant gap in AT&T's high band 4G LTE coverage experienced by its customers in eastern Moscow as well as add network capacity to offload AT&T's existing facilities west of Main Street. The facility would have provided coverage to residential areas not able to be served by existing facilities due to the topography of the area.”

The plan to erect an 80-foot cellular tower for use by AT&T was denied by the Moscow Board of Adjustment in a narrow vote. This is the second time in more than two years that the plan has been voted down.

If there are gaps in the cellular network, it may account for the gaps in BK’s phone coverage that night. Is this evidence going to hold up against the scrutiny of the defense?

That is just in relation to the 4G coverage, even if that is spotty there will be other bands available that have wider coverage.

Even if you do pretend there are actual 'dead zones' in the city they likely have other evidence such as video showing where the car is during those time frames. If the car, driven by the suspect, is shown to be in an area that has cell coverage the only explanation for it not being on the network is it being intentionally disconnected.

FYI it is not above and beyond vegan for vegans and vegetarians to only use pots and pans that have never contained animal products. It is normal and common. Maybe the (former relative) aunt isn't retelling the story accurately. At any rate, voluntary dietary restrictions are not an indication of mental health issues but I agree that whoever wrote that, seemed interested in improving their health.

Not sure if discussed already, I'm so many threads behind and skimming. I was thinking if Xana's first wound was in the kitchen if she encountered BK on his way out while when she putting her food on the counter. There were pics of the food on the counter and possible blood on kitchen cabinet.

Then she staggered toward the bedroom if BK was blocking sliding door...BK chases her now to the room and was the thud noise her falling to the floor succumbing to her wounds.

With her on the floor whimpering (dying) on the floor he said he's going to help her (does final wound to silence her) and he went towards Ethan who was passed out in bed still.

I don't know why I feel the need to dissect the awful details, it's trying to put the pieces together I guess

This house is a maize with steps everywhere. IMOO BCK had to know it well so he didn’t get lost and fall down steps. JMOO I think he was in many times as they soundly slept. Even timing his route. Even with Murphy there. Did he bring a treat so pup would like him? Go in the room? Not attack him?

IMO, there was a latent footprint found outside DMs bedroom on second floor.

I didn’t realize it was outside her door. That poor girl. So maybe he didn’t leave but came back to her door, but it was locked. Did he threaten her at that point? Try the doorknob? Pound on the door? Or he could have been there a few minutes earlier? I would have been absolutely terrified at that point. JMO

I’m struggling to get my head around him living in PA his entire life, moving to Washington in august, found his potential victim(s) by 21st august, and murdering them 2.5 months later.
It’s just mind boggling to me. It’s such a drastic quick turnaround

Ya, same here. Presumably, he’d been in WA a couple mos at most. Probably just one month. He somehow comes upon these kids and puts his plan into action immediately. Why not do it in PA before he moves?

They may have his GPS info by now, though. According to my GPS info, I am at a pizza place in the next town close to 3X weekly. It's just they have a small lot and I drive by it often. JMO

If you watch the videos of BK walking with the taller deputies, it seems obvious he must be at least 5'10", is athletically built, not visibly muscular, and does have bushy eyebrows. Considering her terror, I think her description is spot on.
