Hi, don't post much on this thread - it moves so fast, barely keep up.

Was thinking bout how BCK could have been aware of the residence and the victims who lived there. Was wondering whether in June he was looking for student housing for the upcoming semester for himself and maybe he came across websites/posts on social media advertising all student housing nearby and the 1122 address came up and he became fixated with one of the girls? Idk, seen a lot about where 2 of the girls worked and people thought that may have been the connection, but wondered about other types of connections there could be.

I don't know. Is rent cheaper in Idaho than Washington? Perhaps. 10 miles isn't very far to to commute for cheaper rent. But I am also very curious about what led him to these victims? Something did. This house was the target. Why? Who. The PCA answered a few questions but just created so many more.

I did not read most posts. If someone mentioned my points before, I apologize and you can skip. If X is still playing TikTok at 4:12 that means whatever happened upstairs between 4:04 to 4:12 is not loud enough to bring her attention, or other Alice roommates attention. BK is able to do it quick and quite. He might very well use the same fashion on X’s BF. So no one include X realize a murder is in the room until he is in the room.

Also BK says he likes to shop in Moscow but he will have a hard time to explain the trip he did on the morning of Nov13. He only be there for a few minutes. It is as odd as Scott Peterson’s Christmas Eve fishing story. You can have an explanation, but nobody is going to buy it.
Xana probably couldn't hear anything happening on the 3rd floor just because of the way the house is built. (The 3rd floor is not directly above the 2nd floor.) Also, if she's focusing on TikTok and distracted, any shuffling and bumping around she may have heard was likely not concerning to her.

Any thoughts on why he used his own car on the night of the murders?

Given that many homes have cameras, using his own car seems to indicate a remarkable lack of forethought and planning. If he planned all of this carefully, I'm puzzled as to how he decided to use his own car.
He likely calculated the risk of using his own car and likely chose to do so in order to remain 100% in control. Stealing a car carries a high risk of detection before, during and after the crime. Borrowing a car carries a high risk of your buddy reporting you borrowed his car during that time. Renting a car carries a high risk because the rental agency keeps records. Buying a car leaves a paper trail. And so forth.

He had much more control using his own car, even though it also carried a risk, because it involved absolutely nobody else. It's a trade-off and I suspect he's the kind of person who wanted 100% control of all the cards. In other words, he was more comfortable controlling the risk himself rather than opening an avenue of risk he could not control. My opinion only.

Not sure who Alice is? It's not a given that anything happened upstairs between 4:04 and 4:12. The killer could have gone upstairs after killing X&E.

I would love if today's 'news stories' on BK's dad and the surviving roommate DM made everyone think a little bit more about the brands of media they choose to consume. We support them with our clicks. Lots of problems with many modern media outlets but some titles are undoubtedly more cruel and opportunistic than others.

If the noise in third floor did not bother X it might very well not register DM to think a murder is happening. 20/20 hindsight is easy.

Even if he is convicted I wonder if the family will still believe he wasn't involved.Denial is a real thing.
It's early days for his family. I'm willing to wait in their case to see how it evolves. It can't be easy for them. As more evidence is released, they may start changing their minds. But imho the change might come in steps e.g. admitting in their own heads before they can start to say it out loud or even each family mbr moving at different rates on believing or on being stuck in denial. I don't think they owe us the public anything.

100% And some are more accurate than others too.

JMO about some of the topics under discussion.

Knife skills are fairly similar to boxing skills. The idea of boxing is to learn to very quickly and powerful land punches on a person's torso. Boxers know which parts of the body to go for, above the belt and below the neck. They learn the same overall movements that someone wanting to train with an offensive knife would learn.

Take away the boxing gloves, put a knife into the dominant hand and you've likely got a fairly skillful knife-wielder. Hold the knife in the saber manner (not the manner used in the movie Psycho) and you've got a person who could rapidly silence and murder people quickly.

The mechanics of what happened are one thing. But the frame of mind of someone who would feel no guilt, shame, or reluctance about the idea of killing people while they slept in their beds is unfathomable and much less likely to occur in a person than the ability to wield a knife.

This killer not only entertained the idea without sufficient negative input from his brain to convince him to seek help, but he acquired the means to do it and did it.

I don't think he cares if he dies or lives, and I think he is likely enjoying this phase of the process, in contrast to the victims (including his own family) in this case. We've seen people like this through history. The ancients talk about them - they are rare. I don't think anyone could have predicted this, nor do I think any family system or general societal system "failed." Nothing could have fixed this murderer, except his own realization that he desperately needed help. And then, he would have had to find that help, which is not easy, as there are no easy "cures" for this type of person.

ALL JMO.

@Fargo raised the possibility that BK was moonlighting as a Door Dash, grub hub, Uber etc. driver.

I believe this possibility was supported by noting that his documented presence in Moscow corresponded with "after hours" regarding any University duties and was also consistent with club closings and late night dinners desired by hungry club goers.

Evidently, doctoral students need University permission for extra employment- perhaps to keep the student focused on teaching / assistant / research duties? In either case, the requirement might of led to BK not advertising the moonlighting.

Such a possibility could then support a scenario where BK either provides a ride home, or makes a food delivery and notes say, one female occupant in particular. He then gets obsessed?

I think it is safe to say that all of the families have been absolutely devastated by his actions and we don’t need to clarify who is having a worse time of it right now.
When I was young, one of my high school friends was the son of a prominent jeweler in town. One day, he was cut off from all the money and jewelry and I remember how angrily he talked about it to all of us (his friends). That night, he went home and murdered his father and sister, and attempted to murder his mother. Being a friend of a murderer has haunted me throughout my life. I absolutely cannot imagine what the family is going through as they assess what they believe to be true and false in their newly shattered world.

To further your thought, what if he was interviewed by some or all of the roommates regarding a vacant room and they opted/voted to not have him in the house? Perhaps he was rejected along the lines of “we decided to go with another applicant.” At this point he had already met some/all of the women and perhaps had become fixated. Or-recall that he had student housing as part of his PHD (so he had no reason to look for a roommate situation)—what if he was replying to vacancy ads for the sport of it, the ability to go inside these homes, see who was lived there, etc?

I am beginning to think that people refer to every personal IP security camera as a Ring, even if they are a different brand. Sort of like coke, or jello. I have seen multiple references to that light bulb socket camera in front of 1112 as a Ring; clearly it's not as Ring makes no such device.
You’ve made an excellent point. I have a Ring doorbell but I also have the blink cameras, all are viewable from my Echo device…I have seen references to the light bulb camera being a ring device as well and you are right, they do not make one.

IMO, if the sheath had no blood in it, then he started where it was left.

I'm really hoping BK didn't realize how close he was to the end of his freedom when he set out cross country to PA.

Between warrants the potential evidence could be a gold mine. Or a dud.

Digital evidence, GPS off his phone, the knife, the shoes, the clothes, blood evidence in his apartment, in his car, etc.

Hoping they found a lot.

Another member (wish I could give credit where credit is due) raised the possibility that BK was moonlighting as a Door Dash, Lyft, Uber etc. driver.

I believe that the member supported this possibility by noting that his documented presence in Moscow corresponded with "after hours" regarding any University duties and was also consistent with club closings and late night dinners desired by hungry club goers.

Such a possibility could then support a scenario where BK either provides a ride home, or makes a food delivery and notes say, one female occupant in particular. He then gets obsessed?
This possibility would also answer the question of whether he worked anywhere since moving to WA. It has not been mentioned. How did he get money? I think the only job I’ve seen referenced was at a pizza place in PA and the school on PA as security.

Possibly, possibly not. Then again, we have no way of knowing whether or not the sheath had blood on it.

With the accusations of BH having multiple usernames for sleuthing groups, does anyone remember a user posting on here the day after Thanksgiving?
The username (dont remember) claimed that it would all come out in the investigation that one of the surviving occupants saw the intruder while they were in the kitchen, got spooked, went to their room. When another websleuther asked how they knew that, the sus account said something along the lines that the occupant saw them before, and didn't know the extent of what had happened. The user was removed asap by mods that felt they were rumor starting..... but it did ring true that an occupant saw the perp... THOUGHTS?
This is MOO. Terrible tragedy all around.

I think Alice should actually read "alive". Looks like a victim of autocorrect. JMO

Interesting because one of the alleged fake social media accounts has a profile photo of the silhouette of a man in the dark wearing a headlamp. Just making note of that. No mention of headlamp yet from DM’s witness account, but also could explain her feeling frozen like a deer in headlights and only really being able to make out his bushy eyebrows.

Also, if DM just recently moved from first floor to second floor as has been alleged maybe he wasn’t even aware that anyone was occupying that second floor bedroom. I theorize that Maddie was his target, and he completely fumbled it when he ran into Xana who was still awake eating her Grubhub delivery, surprised by Ethan when Xana went to tell him “someone is here” and the fact that Kaylee was sharing Maddie’s room, and what was meant to be a 1-person murder quickly turned into 4. But no one can explain why DM was spared or who was his primary target and- most frightening to speculate on- WHY. I can confirm that when an intruder tried to kick in my door at 3am I was completely paralyzed in fear and could not move or call police for some time because I was afraid he might hear me. And he didn’t even make it in the house. So I understand DM’s frozen response.

Only time will tell on target and motive, if any aside from being sick and evil.
My guess would be that DM did not move rooms recently, because the 1st floor bedroom below X's did not look lived-in on the police body cam footage taken on Sept 1.
