I just thought it was odd that they said they had video from MG but they didn't mention the places that the other victims worked (I think K worked at a coffeeshop? and I'm not sure if E had a job during the school year). I assumed this was all done back in November.
I could be wrong, but I believe it was publicly known pretty early on where XK and MM worked because of the public social media post that Mad Greek made memorializing them. Therefore it was more likely publicly discussed as opposed to the other victims workplaces. LE likely also visited the workplaces of the other victims, but the public just didn't really dig into that. Kind of like how discussion quickly focused on KG/MM because we had all the info of their activities, but we didn't know much about the others' (and still don't really!) MOO

I don't want to gag anybody. On the other hand, I would like a fair trial and conviction if at all possible. I'm not sure we can control folks in the least. BUT, if I were a judge, I would probably advise everybody to STFU to help the prosecution.

JMHO
Agree. The prosecution has the greater burden.

IMHO As much as I want every little detail regarding this case, I hope that facts trickles out in a manner that does not hinder in the "alleged" killer BK trial being delayed for a long time. Personally, I think LE has done exactly what they should have been doing and are doing. If we put it in perspective, this arrest happened rather quickly. Rarely do we see the killer on video leaving the scene with a bloody knife walking calmly to their vehicle. It took a long time for Bundy to be caught.
I imagine much much more will be coming out about BK and all the details of his actions. These poor families will have to deal with this for a long time.
I am not an attorney and if someone on WS is please jump in. I'm guessing that BK did not enter a plea with his first Idaho appearance because :
1. His attorney needs time to see all LE has gathered in order to defend BK
2. BK and his attorney want to see exactly what there is to determine what plea he will give.
3. I Don't Know BUT can the DA go for a Grand Jury to move the case forward prior to his plea???

Details and questions every where.
I found a Media Guide to the Idaho court system and Pages 19 and 20 explain that a plea is not entered in Criminal cases unti the Arraignment before a District Judge. This will be after the Preliminary hearing once he is bound over for trial.

I believe it goes on to address Grand Jury process also.

Very Interesting, thank you. I was reading about the preliminary hearing and it says the defendant may request a hearing that is closed to the public. I am thinking that might happen. JMO

The thing is... this is 2023 and old-fashioned courts, legal systems, and investigations have got to change. Websleuths are investigating and finding facts, ahead of all the media and press. The truth is, because of world wide internet and intelligence (go sleuths) the old way of investigations, is done. Just like other professions (medical, dental, teaching, etc.) times have completely changed. Science is progressing at indeterminable rates. If I were the judge, I would lift the gag orders (and the legal profession needs to lower their ridiculous rates, update to 2023 language, and change pleadings and court procedures) Basically, the days of the Barristers is over. Gum shoe, yes. Gag orders, no. jmo, moo, omo, lmnop.
I think public interest in the proceedings is healthy and so does the judge. The scope of the gag order is limited to people who are responsible for the fair administration of the justice system, and does not prevent anyone else from investigating or commenting at all.

It does restrict access to the evidence and professional judgments of investigators and other participants in the process, but that should be OK with us. If public opinion was the basis for criminal punishment half the world would be in jail - maybe more than half. Especially now, when anyone can create realistic fake evidence and stick it up on SM as clickbait, for fame and fortune.

Our system of public trials may seem old fashioned but it has evolved continuously in an effort to strike the balance between and among multifarious interests involved. I'm not so interested in satisfying my own curiosity that I want to see those who are accused unfairly punished for crimes they didn't commit.

What we really need to know is whether law enforcement did its job, whether they had good reason to arrest BK, and whether the citizens chosen to decide his guilt or innocence after hearing all the evidence, being instructed as to the law, and given a chance to deliberate - are as impartial as the system can assure them to be. MOO.

Does the Moscow Police Department have a Public Information Officer? I've been looking for recent murder press releases from MPD; last update was on December 30, 2022. UN-gag Chief Fry even if he just tells us they are working on it, stop bugging families and take everything as speculation unless it comes from his office.
It seems the MPD has done a fantastic job so far catching the suspect, not so much with misinformation from media and talking heads. I don't know what to believe anymore. MOO

I've been reading up on this story and trying to keep up. This here is completely insane not 1 but 4 people was murder and no one saw or heard anything that could just nail this case. I mean easier said in done but 4 people in one house. I can't seem to wrap my head around this. No evidence of any kind left behind? Like fingerprints,DNA something. As well as if this is one person to have done this definitely need to get inside of this profile of this person. I'm a huge observer
Welcome to WS !

If you haven’t already seen it, here is the Affidavit written by LE ( law enforcement) that was presented to a Judge. The Judge decided there was ample evidence to issue an arrest warrant for BK.
This is by no means ALL the evidence they may have.

Here is the link for where to find thus Affidavit and other case documents that are accessible to the Public:

They are not allowed to talk to the public or media about the case since the judge issued a nondessimination order. A second order was recently issued that expanded the people not permitted to talk about the case.

Jumping off your post. How could anyone get a fair trial if anyone and everyone can give out evidence and opinions that are not based in fact but would sway a juror before a trial and jury is even announced? How many luddites are there for a full jury for every trial? ;)

People can say they aren't swayed by the information on the internet, but we see it here all the time. So and so said such and such and it's misinterpreted but gets repeated over and over as if it is fact.

It would be great if gag orders weren't needed, if people were intelligent to know that what they say can change the course of a trial, but somehow that doesn't seem to be the case. Some attorney gives an OPINION and the media presents it as fact.

IMO, a fair trial is more important than an attorney who knows better getting their opinion of the day into an article. YMMV.

Re: whether the Mad Greek encounter happened or didn't happen.

I don't believe either party over the other. I don't disbelieve either party over the other.

I'm certainly not going to say that if the owner said it didn't happen, it didn't happen. They have a multitude of valid reasons for not wanting to give that story wings.

For someone wanting their 15 minutes of fame, actually having intel would be a great way to achieve that. I mean, they didn't give their name which is a strange way to become infamous, but what do we know?

As far as a possible LE source releasing info- why would that even be a surprise. They are just people. Some of them are good, some of them are bad and IMO the majority of them are probably varying levels of each.

We don't know who was first or who was 4th but there could have been damage to the knife, the killer could have been gettng tired or amped up on adrenaline or his technique could have simply evolved as he progressed.
Yeah, we don't. That's why I said IMO.

You and I feel the same about this.

No, It is alleged, and not known exactly where on Queen St BK (allegedly) parked. The strong inference is he parked on Queen Street after travelling east along it...so somewhere closer to east end but JMO.

Yes, PCA inference is he (allegedly) entered and left through the slider IMO

No mention of if DD was dropped at the front door; but others here say it's very likely would have been, IIRC.

None of this is known fact at this time IMO but makes up part of Probable Cause Affadavit. It is evidentiary and a judge deemed it sufficient along with the rest of the affadavit to warrant BK's arrrest. MOO
Thank you

My opinion , source: my husband ( again his opinion )

My husband and so. Hunt. We All fish. We use different knives for both. We butcher and prepare our own deer meat. My husband keeps our knives extremely sharp. He keeps all of our knives in leather sheaths because he says that it helps protect the cutting edges keeping them sharp vs hitting the surface of plastic against the cutting edge possibly causing burrs or nicks.
My own personal knowledge relating to cutting edges is from my past employment as a machinist and cutter-grinder of tooling ( drills, saws etc )

Leather sheath info is OPINION
It would be interesting to see, if the sheaths are reused each time, if there was any additional source of dna inside the sheath from a prior use. And if so, could this help, or possibly hurt the prosecution?

I am with you completely. It’s going to be very interesting to hear from the two surviving roommates on everything being reported recently as well.

They lived together. They know so much not released to the public important to keep secret before trial.

I agree and they very likely have more information on the victim's/household patterns, habits and may be able to shed some light on the mysterious stalker.
