He was 28 and looks old enough to be these kid's fathers. I feel like he would have been very out of place in the group of younger 20-somethings partying together.
Agreed! And honestly. That’s what has me most annoyed. He was someone that killed with zero reasoning. Not that anyone ever has a reason to kill, but any other scenario that made sense to me was an ex, a stalker, a friend that turned jealous, anything other than this guy made sense!!

The part where the female student says BK hung around the library for 2 weeks asking people to do a survey about empathy ( like what would make them want to help another person) reminds me of how Ted Bundy would wear a sling on his arm or a fake cast on his leg and used crutches to charm/disarm women to help him. So creepy imho.

so sometime between 2020- 2022 while he was doing the masters at DeSales he was wandering the university library asking random students to participate in another 'academic' survey?

Or was her recollection earlier than 2020 ( hard to judge how old she looks & no date is given)

Them calling he pots and pans thing a food fetish is outright ridiculous. Is maintain a kosher kitchen a “food fetish” too? Or keeping a kitchen peanut free because of allergy? Halal?

Hardcore vegans treat it like a religion. Nothing wrong with that.

yes I went back to check the link. It's the reporter who uses the word ' fetish' ( to make it more sensational) and imo the relative is actually trying to say this is not really about his veganism, it was ' above & beyond' that.

'It was above and beyond being vegan. His aunt and uncle had to buy new pots and pans because he would not eat from anything that had ever had meat cooked in them. He seemed very OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder)'

Police Provide New Info About Possible ‘Stalking’ Incident Involving University Of Idaho Victim Kaylee Goncalves

This article from Dec 6, 2022 describes how Kaylee thought two men were following her when she walked to her car and she notified LE. According to LE, the two guys were meeting woman at this business. It sounds like they said meeting online and then meeting dates at the same location and got Kaylee confused with a possible meet up woman. I’m now really wondering if this was BK?

Re the Elantra not being registered to the suspect, and questions that have been raised about occupants (plural) of the car that night.

Does anyone remember, very early on in the discussions here (thead 1 probably), a poster saying their kid/s were at UoW Pullman and that 11-13 Nov was parent/family weekend? They said something about Pullman and Moscow being busy that weekend, with hotels/accommodation booked-up. I think they may have said they were there.

I went back to look for this awhile ago for something else I was looking into. I’m interested in the answer, as well.

What do you make of Thompson’s latest quote:
“This is not the end of this investigation. In fact, this is a new beginning,” Latah County Prosecutor Bill Thompson

It could be massive self esteem issues

More crimes to come? These perpetrators can be very transient. All that driving in mommy's car

That they still need to get a conviction and want as much information they can to bring to trial.

WOW! That’s interesting! I thought the car assisted in finding him, but wondering if it was registered to parents and then LE saw him as a son and figured out he was in Pullman OR he registered the car to be able to park around campus? It certainly made him harder to find and was most likely part of his plan. I’m thinking once he arrived home in PA, he felt he had gotten away with his crime.
Yes. That is interesting to me to. I also wondered if he had to register the car somewhere on campus to park. Or even in some towns nowadays to park on the street, the new meters have you put in your credit card and then your license plate number before you can park on the street. Even if it was months ago he parked his car on the street in either Pullman, washington or Moscow Idaho.....I wonder if something like that would go to a database that police can review. Then when they are looking for a suspect in any crime just review registrations of people who had Hyundai Elantras that parked on the street in the local area in the past. I don't know one way or another. Just curious about this.

"Oh what a tangled web we weave when at first we start to deceive"
The human mind is a marvelous creation but unfortunately it sometimes goes completely off track.
The fallout from this tragedy in Moscow is just beginning.
BK's mother wrote letters to a newspaper regarding the shooting at the Uvalde school, condemning gun violence, abortion and other things and now her son is accused of horrible murders not using guns but a knife! What a twisted world.

mother of Idaho suspect Bryan Kohberger slammed school shooting in letter to Pocono Record - FOX3 Now
All I can say to this is that I hope his family’s inner circle can support and provide grace and safety to them. I’m assuming they are good people. I can’t even imagine how I would feel if one of my son’s was arrested for this.

I'm stuck on how dumb a move it it is to enter large house in a student area. High chance of many people being home and things going awry. Here, things did go awry -- his DNA left behind, probably because other residents got involved and engaged in more of a fight than he was prepared for. JMO.

*shudder* I'd be willing to bet that's him. Creepy.
They have a propensity to return. He probably told authorities he was a criminal law student doing his phd

What are the legalities in him using his mom's car? Is that extra warrants?

Now they are in the prosecutorial phase. It just means that the case isn't being completely handed over to the prosecutors and the police take a step back. They are going to continue to look for and gather evidence now that the suspect is in custody. That includes all the search warrants and searches that they have started to conduct - his house, the car, the apartment, electronic devices etc...

That they still need to get a conviction and want as much information they can to bring to trial.

Considering he didn’t own the Elantra and they’re still asking people to come forward with information about that night, it seems as though they are still investigating, rather than tidying up. I’m intrigued.

Edit:
I mean, if there were others involved, now is when they would apply pressure to get him to flip, right?

What happened does not make a lot of sense -- entering a large home in student area with lots of people likely home at the time. I think LE wants to figure out what the perp's original plan was in entering the home. JMO.

I do see that the US Constitution doesn't have a 'right to privacy' unlike the 'right to free speech' and the 'right to bear arms'.
True the Constitution has no expressed right to privacy although in 2017 the Supreme Court unanimously recognized privacy as a fundamental right guaranteed by the Constitution. This ruling asserted the First, Third, Fourth and Ninth and even the Fourteenth Amendments show the right to privacy

Tough to speculate with any accuracy without knowing much about his life
Earning a PhD is not an easy task, but he would only be in semester 1
Steroids cause aggression, as does healthy weight loss, and fasting in some people
I would not equate mental snap with the planned brutal murder of four people who appear to not be related to his life in any way
I would guess that as info comes out we will find out there have been red flags

JMO

A sudden change in behavior sounds like head injury or stroke, steroid use

JMO
Maybe he was in a car accident. His mugshot looks like he had a broken nose in the past but pics of him from a few years ago don't seem to show it. Maybe it is just the angle/lighting but it looks different to me.

And so you're standing in your bedroom in your boxer shorts, woken out of a deep sleep, confused, disoriented, frightened, shocked as hell, surrounded by 20 uniformed officers of various agencies combing through your childhood home, your parents looking on, frantic as you're provided the reason for your detainment: would it really occur to anyone here to ask, Has anyone else been arrested?
It’s possible that he was planning for this the way he planned for the killings. Rehearsed his lines as a means of control. Keep them on their toes.
