I agree with you 100%. The original post was in the thread before this one, so I could not quote it directly from his original post. I’m just trying to figure out where the OP got the idea that the suspect was anti-LGBTQ. It just irks me when things like this just get thrown about with no proof, and further on down the line for some reason becomes fact merely because so and so heard or read it from so and so…

Sorry, what I know about law could be contained within a thimble. I got a great education just by watching the O.J. Simpson trial play out on TV, but I don't have any experience beyond that. There are many Legal Beagles on the forum who could answer all of your questions, and hopefully they will see our posts and respond.

True story: I did something similar with my parents, and we had a heckagood time. We did it in December. We did it through snowy mountain states. It was actually really fun, and it remains a happy memory for me.

I can't speculate on reasons BCK may have had for the trip because IDK and respect to WS, nor do I know his relationship with his father, but IMO JMO being a homicidal maniac isn't necessarily the only reason someone would do this. The reason I would give my parents, "come on, it'll be fun!". And because we all shared that genetic disposition, they'd have said, "you're right! Let's do it!"

It's only in retrospect that BCK's trip raises red flags for me. AND IMO JMO, the opportunity to hang with your parents and have an adventure should not be done only after a quadruple homicide. I'd say take the opportunity when you have it, and don't murder anyone first. JMO IMO IME

Agree. And an individual described as awkward and a loner does not suddenly change his color and take on a partner to share his mass murder fantasy.

I would also think that since all four victims were killed with the same knife, in the same manner, only one person would have committed the crime. I see him as enjoying it. Maybe wishing to write a book someday about the crime. Maybe throw in his research data.

His arrest must have made him extremely angry. He is so evil and I am so grateful he is in custody.

Perhaps if the knife was bent or damaged by hitting bone or furniture, they could at least say it was the “potential” murder weapon? However, the type of knife he had looks pretty sturdy.

Motive, means, opportunity are important for LE to demonstrate in the prosecution, IMO. Being able to show BK had a knife capable of causing the wounds found on the victims is very important - even if there was no DNA/blood from the victims still on said knife-MOO.

Sometimes, depending on it it had distinctive characteristics. Say a broken tip, or a notch in the blade, used a lot and honed to a smaller size than a new blade, twisted or tweaked. There are a lot of things that can happen to a knife that could make it identifiable depending on the cuts, what it struck, etc.

So, we know that BK "allegedly" committed the murders, returned to his campus in WA, and finished out his school semester. Then he drove alllll the way to Pennsylvania from Idaho. Does anyone think he actually planned on returning to WA next semester? We've seen LE at his WA apartment removing, so he obviously didn't pack up, but why in the heck would he drive that far during the winter time just for Christmas break? Maybe he planned on ditching the car at his parents' house and returning to WA via plane, buying a used car and continuing on with his student life as if nothing happened? Or did he plan on making a "sudden decision" while back in PA and tell his parents he wanted to continue his PhD at a school closer to home?

Yes, it was definitely real. The now-deleted reddit post gave the full names and contact information for the DeSales professors - and for BK.

It was entirely real. I doubt DeSales publishes or indexes its master's theses (doctoral dissertations from good schools usually go to the national database at Ann Arbor, MI). Someone somewhere has a copy of it, though. Would like to read it.

Does anyone else think he will give a full confession next week once he is presented with the evidence that will prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt? He will be spared the death penalty and avoid dragging his parents through a long drawn out trial that will be painful and embarrassing. I think he will be rather proud to tell his story before America although he will avoid revealing the more painful and ego-bruising aspects he's been suppressing his whole life. I think he will plead guilty and spend the rest of his days working on his memoirs that no one will read or be interested in.

The car must have had PA plates because it was registered in the parents’name. BK doesn’t own a vehicle.

Source? For either thing? Because I can only find it in unverified sources, which say it was WA plates and owned by the parents. I would love to see some confirmation.

To me, it's looking like BK was so certain that his criminal plan would never lead back to him, but everything changed when the call for the Elantra went out. I doubt anyone in his program knew he had that car, but it's possible someone at his apt. building called in it in. That's actually fairly likely. If they called it in, they probably took a photo of the plates.

We'll find out in January, I believe.

I wish I knew but a former FBI agent stated this was what she believed on the basis that the most recent press conference confirmed a 2015 Elantra was in the possession of LE, which is a different year to that stated on the press releases.
