no doubt. I'm just saying that imo jmo the bar would probably not be able to prove he never went back so he could just say he did and minimize the interaction. I'm not defending him. I'm just thinking of how it would be explained away. I have a feeling with this defense, they might do a lot of explaining if BARD is borderline and he pleads innocent. all just jmo imo

In my opinion, he has the whole court case planned by proxy defender.
He will realise very quickly he's chooked the entire thing, albeit, when you have the death penalty put in front of you, plead innocent.

I guess they have enough disposable income to afford this kind of thing, I love road trips but my mom ceased to accompany me on the way back to university after my sophomore year. I was 20 and no way needed my mom to be on my road trips.

But everyone is different. In this case, I think there's something else going on.

Could be that his parents just needed the car back after he was done moving and he was going to fly back to Washington after the holidays and leave it home.

If BK or his family used toll roads a lot in PA there may have been a transponder to signal the toll booths and allow someone to drive thru without stopping. I was unaware until I just looked but it looks like it can be activated in other states as well. I’m posting a link about it with the map showing the states included in the system

These guys think they are so smart but they never do the only thing that helps: ditch the car in a small-town airport parking lot and leave the country.

They read all these big-brain PhD books but don't remember the only advice that matters in a life of crime: don't let yourself get attached to anything you aren't willing to leave in 30 seconds flat when you feel the heat around the corner.

I always thought the only advice that matter was never, ever, talk about the crime, especially your part in it.

True, LE hasn't indicated WHERE his DNA came from>>>BUT<<< They did claim his DNA is a MATCH with DNA recovered at the crime scene. His only defense there would be a scenario that would *explain* why it should be there. For example, he was there for a party. Not likely. IF DNA was found mingled with victims blood or, as previous poster implied....under victims finger nails... he's dead meat. MOO

Probably an unpopular position - but let him. So long as they have plenty of evidence to know it was him - save the families the drama and reliving of the horror in a trial and any of the attempts at deflection of him being a simple that will inevitably come with a trial.

Well, no. We need to know more about what makes killers kill. So far nothing can explain it. So, he wanted to do science, let other specialists do science now. MRI, EEG, pet scan, FMRI, what changes during OCD flare-ups.

I've not seen any evidence that BK was anything but a smart, organized, good student that earned good grades. One of his high school teachers is as follows:

A former teacher of Kohberger’s at Pleasant Valley High School told The Daily Beast that he was a “good kid” and “never in major trouble.” She said that when she taught him in 11th and 12th grade, Kohberger was “passionate about criminal justice.”

“He was just a regular 12th grader, had a few friends, was a good student,” she said. “I thought he would become a police officer or correctional officer.”

“He liked to watch movies about police, and ask me the next day if I’d seen it. It was more than a hobby for him, he was always asking questions,” she said.

She said she’s feeling sick over Kohberger’s alleged crimes and wonders if she could have done more for him or said something different to prevent him from traveling down a dark path. “He liked school, got good grades, did well at vo-tech, had friends, and a plan to go to school for criminal justice,” she said. “He had his life in order.”

Another high school classmate, who asked not to be named, said of Kohberger: “I remember he was very quiet and shy. A lot of people made fun of him. I don’t know if it was because he was quiet and shy or how heavy he was. But you could tell he was a smart, organized student, like all As and really to the point.”

I know that and I'm not saying it is realistic at all. I was just throwing it out there since someone speculated it is possible he was set up. I mean...if he was a militant vegan, maybe he was also anti-death penalty. Someone on an earlier thread also had questioned that if it was random or thrill kill why drive across a border into a death penalty state to commit it.

He crossed the border bc he was after a particular victim imo.

There's more likely toll compliance systems at toll booths that collate driver data.
There's facial recognition in supermarkets now. The technology is cheap.

Totally agree. This smells of dad being suspicious and maybe using time spent in the car as a way of coaxing info from BK.

Son was driving a vehicle similar to what LE was looking for

Son went to school not too far from the crime scene

Son had issues that the dad knew of.

Son's issues became more apparent after the murders. Father detected 3rd degree weirdness over the phone instead of the normal 1st degree weirdness from BK.

Son wanted to drive back with his vehicle instead of taking a flight. By itself, not suspicious but considering the totality of everything else...another red flag.

I wonder if they drove by the 1122 house. Dad sees it on the news and out of curiosity is like, BK, let's do a drive by on our way back. Maybe Dad sensed something in BK as they were driving by the house?????

If that's the source of the DNA, I can't explain it. JMO, from what I've read so far, he's probably guilty. I think the idea of planting DNA at a crime scene to frame someone is something that works in movies, but probably doesn't work in reality.

I'm just saying that, facing the DP, he'll have pretty good attorneys. They'll throw out a lot of scenarios to confuse jurors. Its SOP. Folks following his trial should be prepared for that.

Chief interviewed a few hrs ago and would not answer that question.
