I'd guess his DNA was there from cutting himself. Stabbing is a very bloody mess and the knife gets slippery. When the killer continues to stab, his hand slips down the knife and will slice his hand.
Catching up, so I'm not sure if this is brought up later, but the Moscow PD said some or all of the victims fought back--I wonder if one of them got a little bit of BK's skin under his/her fingernails.

We are all just expressing our opinions and theories on this case, as far as terms of use allow. Some are more reasonable and probable than others. We only have to quote experts when we are presenting things as fact, other than that everything here is IMO, IMHO, JMO etc. We shouldn't, IMO (lol) have to ask someone to justify their opinion IMO! LOL
Correct, pretty much 98% of things posted on this forum are opinions.

Interesting, but why he did not take his computer and his books with him? He could have said he wanted to work during holidays. Although he may took the computer hard drive, but why leaving the computer if he was not planning to return?

I think he wanted the car away, it became a danger for him, a trap. He could not sale it, if he was not its owner, but he could persuade his parents why he needed car to be returned to Pennsylvania. For example, he wanted to buy another car once, he is back to Pullman. The car had to go from Pullman.

But him? Not so sure. He wanted to carry on as if nothing happened. Poker faced. Like now: he was arrested, facing 4 first degree murders convictions and the only thing we have heard so far from him is that the whole thing is misunderstanding.

Bluffing.

LE builds a case as we speak and my guess is there will be few surprises for BK when he finds out what is there for him.

Lets say he wiped the comp and took its HD. I am not sure it would help him completely, the memory could be read regardless.

But the HD no doubt is seized now. What LE will find on it?

And how about his phone? His phone will tell a story on its own. He may left it behind in his apartment on the night of murders, but afterwards he was watching the news, searching for news from Idaho, accessed his SM accounts. When he was arrested, he was feeling safe, he was in no need to wipe the phone's memory.

Did he leave his phone at home when he went somewhere to dispose the knife, the clothes?

Questions, questions. Let's hope LE has all answers.
IMO, there’s more to the story
I agree 100%. The following is MOO. He looks older than his age. Plus, no matter his expression in a picture, or when/where it was taken, his eyes are dead. Even in selfies. And he apparently projects a heavy creep factor in person. Definitely not someone you would want at a lighthearted evening of fun and under-age drinking. But, since that house was well-known as a party house, its not impossible that he could have followed some revelers there one night and crashed a party.

Based on the anecdotes people are sharing about him: stopping random women in the hall at school to ask if they want to hang out, asking his friend's girlfriend to share a bottle and hang out with him, asking wait-staff at restaurants where they live and their schedules (totally predator vibe there), etc., I can see him rolling out some of that behavior and freaking the young ladies out. And the younger guys, flush with alcohol and feeling their manliness, tossing him out on his ear. That kind of humiliation could certainly result in him targeting the house. MY OPINION ONLY.

Now that he's been arrested, maybe his face will remind someone of an interaction where he stood out in a bad way, that might explain him having something against the location or people there.
IMO, I agree 100% with BKs social skills being weak, but that’s where it ends.

Is there a link to the debunking by the podcaster?

The podcaster/Youtuber is not WS approved and their site can't be linked here but if you go to his SM (identified in MSM below), you'll find the disclaimer and debunking, and requests for news alleging the caller is BK taken down.

What are everyone's thoughts on if he had an accomplice or not?

Not asking for anyone to speculate who it would be, just if he had one.

IMO, I don't believe he had an accomplice. His question, "have you arrested anyone else?" was to divert attention IMO. I don't believe someone with his profile would involve another person. I'm sensing that he thought he was better than everyone else. However, I just can't grasp how he got away without being seen that night.
Moo-

From the very beginning I thought whoever did this did it alone due to the lack of evidence and no news or any clues of two being involved.

With such a giant investigative man hunt I assumed if it was two people one would get nervous , draw attention to their self under such fear of all the media and the entire area on a manhunt for whoever did this. The pressure in my mind would have cracked one of the two enough to hopefully make someone acquainted with them tip the police to them. Possibly one of them slip up and make a mistake which lead LE to them.

The more people involved, higher the potential of being caught. My opinion only.

For this alone… given how long it took to even find BK. I’ve always thought it was one person.

However… the comment he made after arrest… is just so unusual to me. Even for a highly intelligent murderer. I just find it odd and concerning.

I’m no longer so certain it was one person.

Still think it’s the most likely thing.

Regarding the White Hyundai Elantra...this is the official site release from LE earlier,,,,The given number of Investigators working on the case is awesome.

I feel as though his plan was to commit and get away with "the perfect crime". Then sit back and watch it unfold in the news on an international level, which would be pretty spectacular for someone like him. I also think he would go on to write a book about this crime, being a Ph.D holder in criminology. He's be able to pick it apart and relive it over and over again. I can see that being the ultimate personal "win".
Resurrecting an old theory about those multiple communications to KG's ex ... if they were texts rather than voice, could they represent the perp's attempt to lure an " alternate suspect" to the scene of the crime - thus creating reasonable doubt ? What might a reasonable juror believe if presented with that scenario?

I wonder about evidence in the car (if found any).

Is it possible that there is transfer of something from the house to the car?

Even the tiniest fibres?

JMO
Me too, especially if we learn that the cross-country trip was indeed made with a dog. Wouldn't a dog notice remnant smells in the vehicle even below the threshold of human perception? Will be interesting if we eventually hear that something that happened on that trip made BK's father start to wonder... MOO

For some reason there is a type of female who is attracted to very violent killers. Ted Bundy, Richard Rameriz and others had plenty of groupies writing to them, and even wanting to marry them. Will Bryan Kohberger be contacted by such women? In my opinion, yes. IMO.

They'll never get a chance to cheat. (Honestly, that's the only reason I can think of as to why some women are attracted to killers.)

It will be interesting to see the evidence LE has, and how they got there. At this point, I think there were at least 2 errors by BK:

Strategic Error: The car, and how to deal with it.

Operational Error: DNA left at the scene. It remains to be seen how big of an error. If it was found under the fingernails of any of the victims, he is toast (very much hoping for this).

MOO, and very relieved he is in custody.
DNA under victims' fingernails would be great, but I think it's likely he wore gloves and clothing that covered most of his body. I would think blood-derived DNA intermingled with blood of multiple victims would be almost as good, and I suspect they have that.

I'm still intrigued to see where things land with the Elantra. How byzantine was his plan? Could he possibly have had access to two Elantras, used one to commit the crime, and driven the other back to PA with his father? I doubt it, since the resource and operational planning requirements would have been prohibitive. But I can't shake the feeling that more machinations on the part of BK will be revealed as the case progresses to trial.

But BK was in PA in 2021.

I was thinking that BK may copycat the idea of Oregon case in Moscow, ID.
Thanks I’m not fully aware of his timeline.

I still wouldn’t put a cross country trip past him given what we know of him!

Copycat is more likely though and not something I had considered.

I don't find it hard to believe that a local cop knows these things or since following the case like we are it my have been just additional info this source added to the real experience of being local and who knew what and when. Does this really matter???
It matters to us here, in that we try to sleuth with facts on this site. Does it ultimately matter whether BK wore glove at the grocery store, as was stated? Not at all. But the other claim, that the killer was stalking the victims for weeks before the murders, and that his cell phone pings showed that he was where the girls were very often, well, that matters. If that is not true, and at best it is unsubstantiated rumor, and people here do not know it is that, then it just muddies the waters and eventually becomes "fact" for many posters. I know nothing about the person who made the post on social media, that got picked up by the DM and NYPost, which are accepted sites, but I would be very doubtful that a local cop that surveilled the perp for a couple days, would be privy to those kind of facts of the case, and if he was, I would hope that he would be respectful enough of his profession, that he would not go blabbing such details to "friends". I will continue to file those claims away as rumor, at least unless and until I hear them from a named source. JMO

If I had to guess… (IMO/MOO)

BK asked/insisted his father accompany him on the drive home by suggesting something along the lines of “the car’s acting funny, I need a new one, etc.” Remember, his father is in “maintenance” (per MSM) so possibly mechanically handy as well- if BK was ready to ditch the Hyundai, he could probably get more support from his folks by “demonstrating” something was wrong with it on a long, long cross-country drive.

What boggles my mind is how he was (presumably) able to act normal on that drive. IMO he’s cold-hearted enough to accept that IF/WHEN he is caught (I think he was feeling heat after the Elantra announcement,) he will have completely devastated his family. Sounds like money is somewhat tight- he had to know he’d require a lawyer at some point & there’s no way his family could afford a good one without putting themselves in serious financial jeopardy. Even if he thinks he can represent himself, he has to have studied enough cases to realize how poorly that generally turns out- a “good” attorney can likely be reasoned with to represent him to HIS OWN satisfaction. But those lawyers cost $$$, and it doesn’t seem like he was rolling in money at any time… (OTOH, he may allow a string of PD’s in order to claim “ineffective representation” and drag this out indefinitely, esp. if death penalty remains on the table…) He had to realize the publicity alone would be horrendous for them, even if finances were not an issue. Assuming they knew nothing (I personally believe at least his mother knew *of* the case if her public letters regarding Uvalde, abortions, etc. are true- she kinda/sorta follows the news) they will probably be wracked with the guilt of “should we have known/what could we have done”, etc.

MOO, his father may have jumped at the chance to spend that quality time on the road trip when BK suggested the car needed to be repaired/replaced. BK had to know that time together would be extremely uncomfortable (even if his Dad never heard about the crimes), but he was willing to “pay that price” in order to:
A) Get the vehicle out of the area (also probably realized it would be scrutinized/searched if left unattended for however many weeks over the break.)
B) Look less suspicious with another person in the vehicle if recognized.
C) Potentially use father’s CC to eliminate paper trail in case he was being tailed.
D) Have a quasi-alibi if questioned about leaving the area (“I wasn’t fleeing, I needed my Dad to help diagnose my crummy car and get it renewed in PA” or some such excuse.)
E) Confirm he’d done an adequate clean-up job (another set of eyes to point out dirty spots?)

TL,DR: I suspect once the Elantra details were released, he started to feel the heat & realize he was sloppy with his use of his vehicle. He needed it out of the area via a legit explanation- and bonus if he could replace it before returning to WSU. His poor family- I truly DO NOT believe they suspected him whatsoever. If it wasn’t for the Elantra tip-off, I think LE would still be digging (his DNA would likely get him eventually but the car flagged him, IMO.)

All JMO/MOO/speculation about that drive and getting his father involved.
I agree completely with you! <modsnip>

Is it a fact finger prints are required as a prerequisite for hire in PA schools? At the school corporation I worked at (not PA), only background and drug testing were required. I’ve not seen anything on the PA DOE website requiring fingerprints.
School workers in PA need FBI clearance which includes a fingerprint.

“Federal Criminal History Background Checks are required by Act 114 of 2006, 24 PS 1-111 as amended (Act 61 of 2008)”

“As of April 1, 2007, Act 114 of 2006 has required that ALL prospective employees of public and private schools, including their independent contractors and their employees, but excluding employees who do not have direct contact with students, undergo background checks.”

I can't imagine flying to assist my 28 y/o doctoral son on a cross-country drive for Christmas. Plus, accompanied him to the auto maintenance shop.
Some people can’t imagine and for others it isn’t unusual. We have absolutely flown out to western slopes and road tripped back with our young adults. We considered it a privilege to be able to have the time and money to help on what is a long, long drive. We have also chased both of them on occasion to the auto garage to get routine stuff done while home visiting and they had one of our cars to borrow. It is my opinion that in these types of cases it is difficult to ascribe our personal opinions about what is normal or not normal to family dynamics because family dynamics and the interpersonal relationships can be varied.

I think he did not have an accomplice. I don’t think he plays well with others, and I think he wanted all the “glory” for himself.

That Daily Mail article about him stalking the 4 roommates doesn't ring true to me. He had just moved to Pullman. The 2 survivors had just moved into 1122 King in August if I remember correctly. Why stalk those 4 when there are 6? He didn't exactly know any of them well. JMO
