Absolutely.
But suppose he wanted to keep it?

Something tells me he kept it. As a trophy.

And put it in a place where he could secretly pull it out and look at it and relive the crimes he committed with it.

My hunch only.

You know, when that night running anecdote came out, I wondered the same!

But then I realized it would be unfathomable to me any human being could jog from WSU along the Chipman Trail to the King Rd house in Moscow, brutally murder 4 sleeping kids with their whole bright futures ahead, and jog back. MOO

Unfathomable … not impossible. Moo.
What kind of route would a running homicidal maniac take. Like you say-not impossible.
could have left vehicle parked up for the night.

Only prob with running theory is that I think it was several years old, not sure he kept it up, but he could well have.
worth a look, for sure.

That's interesting because neither WA or ID had that requirement when I lived up there. When did that change?
In Washington it is only required in the larger Cities and County’s as in Seattle, King County Co etc. in my area and County it is not required.

Here’s my two cents:

1) If I had just committed a crime, the last place I would want to go is through airport security. So, for this reason, driving to PA makes the most sense IMO.

2) As a Criminology PhD student, it seems he would want to attend every press conference or vigil possible. And, discuss case in class or with family. This type of crime is his passion; and, IMO, it would be unusual for him to not analyze every last detail.

At this point, LE needs the murder weapon. I was thinking back to a post I read on one of these sites, where the author talked about the murderer possibly stomping the knife into the ground….where it would only be found with a metal detector. There are a lot of miles between Moscow and the Poconos. Dad would be the one to say where they stopped, but with this possibility, the weapon could be right outside the house….perpendicular to the ground, under some leaves. Just wonder if they have used a metal detector in all the places he would have gone, since the murder?
IMO the knife is too important to BK to get rid of it. This is interesting stomping it in the ground as opposed to digging a hole, which would be easier for LE to locate.. I’ve also thought of his kickboxing and lower body workouts with this possible stomping activity with the knife.
Another location could be right there near his apartment outside. A place he had already prepared to store and hide the knife. IMO I just don’t think he would get rid of it because it matters to him… yes it is important to LE but BK would IMO get great satisfaction of knowing he has out smarted LE in concealing and camouflaging the murder weapon. All MOO

I for one do not believe it until I have another source.

You think so? I thought so immediately as well, but was persuaded by others' opinions. I sincerely hope so and am waiting impatiently to know. Sticking a GPS tracker on his car, though, would have been cheap and easy (and allow them to send teams out to search for evidence disposal at each place he stopped - but the reason I thought they had an actual car following him is so that LE could roll up to every place he got gas/ate/stopped to check the trash and surroundings for evidence).

Oh, I hope so. "Well choreographed ballet" is a phrase that's making my New Year's Day much more happy.

Which he surely had to have (both in terms of rules and everyday reality).

No group of people more likely to turn someone in for not having a permit than other students,
I said several threads ago that the use of several LE sources probably followed BCK and his dad to PA. They would not risk losing this guy, JMO

Haven't seen this addressed. If and this is a big if he was at same bar as girls on the night of murder could he have been at the food truck area maybe off camera watching them. Did I read one of the girls said on camera get away from me weirdo?

Absolutely.

I lean toward believing that he kept it as a souvenir or a suicide method if/when needed. IMO

Not at all an unlikely scenario, in my opinion.

But now that we’re on the topic of physical appearance, I think it’s interesting to see how BK’a facial structure changes slightly from photo to photo. I know some of this could be explained by drastic weight loss or changes in diet. But there’s one specific change that grabbed my attention. In an older photo online he has a deep worry line across his forehead, while in his recent photos (including mug) his forehead is completely smooth, no worry line. I’ve consulted cosmetic dermatologists about my own worry line and have been told Botox is the only solution, that they don’t go away on their own. So… has BK been getting Botox injections? And if so for how long? (Mainly interested to know how timing might align with other life events). Any dermatologists who can review photos and confirm/dispel?

For reference, attaching the photo where I thought the line was most visible. Unfortunately the higher res version is no longer online, or if it is, View attachment 391613I can’t find it.

Contained in something tall and narrow? something public or semi public?
I wonder whether the handle was curved or straight?
Thinking one of those fixtures placed around parking things with removable heads that might be lights?

I'm one of the folks who mentioned the topic of the car having mechanical issues, but I didn't assert it actually did, I merely suggested that claiming there were mechanical concerns could have been a reasonable way for BK to convince his father to accompany him for the drive from ID to PA. I've seen others mention the same option, but have seen no one suggest there were in reality any mechanical concerns.
Yep, same for me. I think the article regarding the convo with the mechanic helped plant the seed, but I also (hopefully) insinuated it was more of a ruse for BK to get rid of the car.

Another good example of WS-telephone at its finest; I too am done with the car (and Murphy-the-dog) diatribes for now, LOL. ;)

(Article mentioning mechanic conversation)

Yeah, when I read that (stomping in the ground, vertically), I read it twice, because never thought about that…but it would leave only a very small disturbance in the soil, especially with fallen leaves in November. Could be anywhere though…and you are probably right…he put it where he will always know where it is to admire later. Ugh.

The knife is likely buried in PA in the woods surrounding the home there.

Wonder if BK enjoyed music? As a matter of fact...I wonder if any mass/serial killers enjoyed music. Just a thought that popped into my head.

  • #276
Why do you believe LE "needs" the murder weapon? Just curious. I don't think they do, my personal opinion, but if you're correct, that's gonna suck because I'm willing to bet that thing is long gone.
They said they needed it on one of the interviews, I thought? They need for linking to him, specifically, if I remember. Or they just have circumstantial case.

I wonder how many people who crossed paths with this <modsnip: Name calling not allowed> wondered if he was the killer. I get a chill just looking at him. People like this have an energy about them that one can feel. A coldness that cuts to the bone. (See, again, The Gift of Fear.)

if it is, he would have travelled with it while knowing a vehicle description of his vehicle was circulating..
But anything is possible until we know who he is.

I think he drove the car. I was wondering about where he got rid of weapon and other evidence after the fact. I think the crime was planned, so he likely had a plan to hide evidence. So he could have gone running maybe the next evening and stashed everything.

So his parents also lived close to his sister, aunt and others per the NYP article posted earlier.

Does this guy hate his family? Or just, totally oblivious to the hell has put them into?
