Catching up...

Not familiar with idaho court law with regards to the gag order and how it exactly works, but would a reporter be able to tweet daily court proceedings when the trial starts?

They would not have arrested Bryan if they weren't sure.
There's always room for doubt. Read the article I shared.

I know! What nerve he has for looking aggravated when pulled over?! That’s an odd visual reaction to project to authorities.

Why do you think his Mother covered her face to enter the courthouse?
It's been 6 years since my face has graced social media, the last time being when I shut down all of my accounts. I share pictures directly with family members in group chats. I'm still active in my community, on the board of a non-profit, hold a high position at my company...so I am by no means hiding....BUT I refuse to let my image be used without my permission.

A lot of people will read that and think that's weird because in the last 15 years having your face plastered everywhere by everyone has become the norm. Privacy has been peeled back little by little.

I think there's nothing weird about Mom covering her face. She likely wanted to support her son while still trying to maintain some semblance of privacy.

I snagged this and enlarged it. There looks to be a cut/abrasion on his right arm covered partially by his sleeve and on the knuckle of his second finger of his right hand. This was about a month after the murder. Looks to be healing. This was middle of Dec. Arrest end of Dec. Did no one see this or was it completely healed by arrest?

The right hand as a whole looks a bit swollen, though it's harder to discern if that is true with the left hand out of view.

CeCe Moore very eloquently explained the process of genealogical DNA, building family trees, and tracing it to a particular subject, on Banfield just now. She also explained that the familial DNA could not have been part of the 23andMe or Ancestry databases alone, as they will not release identifying information to LE. It had to be part of GedMatch or MyFamilyTree.
My daughter did 23 and me. She's always teasing her brother he better stay on the straight and narrow since her DNA is in the "system". I guess my son can breathe a a sigh of relief, it that's the case. (just kidding about that last part, mostly)
Then I found this Guide for Law Enforcement - 23andMe

Yes, it does. And reporters could be jailed for releasing anything covered by the gag order. They probably wouldn't be, but they could.
Thanks WOTx...I was hoping that it didnt include the Probable Cause hearing

I’ll be honest after watching the body cam footage once and hearing the press conference after hearing discuss very few officers not on the case knew he was a suspect I thought it was unlikely the officer knew anything about who he pulled over.

However I keep reading and seeing everyone’s take on body cam footage thinking otherwise … that they may have just had a BOLO - and had to report back info.. etc. I decided to watch again. Ended up watching 3 times.

I find it very interesting BK and his father seem to immediately say we were just pulled over…. Ask why are they being pulled over again… somewhat suspicious in my opinion and probably very concerning to BK.

If a normal person gets pulled over for following too close and speeding… they don’t immediately gun it and do the same thing right after unless there is a reason.

I think first time getting pulled over did spook him…

And I think second cop may indeed have been checking him out to relay info back… possibly reassure him and calm him down.

Moo- My change in thought is always due to the last question the officer asks “that’s quite a trip/long drive… are you guys afraid to fly?” And it sounds almost like he’s fishing for more information on why aren’t you flying and in a way asking if he doesn’t plan to return to WSU? More so fishing for that last question with the first.

Again, I could be misinterpreting that last interaction in body cam footage..

Am I way off?
Something is odd, bc they won’t reveal the first body cam . So what happened during that one? That came out before this gag order. I was surprised no one here has said much about it.

Bryan Kohberger and his dad were involved in another traffic stop hours before this one — also in Indiana. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the body cam footage from that stop — because they say it is part of an active criminal investigation in Idaho.

There's his photo with his quote from Aristotle. He's definitely attempting to look smiling and pleasant. I believe it's the photo he submitted or had taken as his intro photo to WSU. This is the main one I'm using as comparison:

He's definitely able to make his eye openings into a typical smile shape although his smile is still a little strained. It's hard to say, as he lacks body fat which makes a person look atypical to me. Most people have a bit more fat on their faces. His smile looks tight as a result. But, I do count normal body fat (which he isn't IMO) as a normal trait. He's high muscle and low fat, so I assume he works out and has a certain kind of diet. A diet that requires a certain degree of high habit formation (perhaps shading into a compulsion) to maintain. Not a big deal, just something I file away in my own brain. Not an easy going spontaneous person (and now we know he has apparently rigid dietary requirements).
I think he looks positively anorexic in this photo. I wonder if this is an older photo, closer to when he initially lost weight.

They probably aren't out of deference to the gag order in Idaho.

I know it happened before the gag order, but I guess they just don't want to contribute to the media frenzy that the gag order is trying to stop.

Nice to see empathy expressed in these threads. I believe the entire event is a tragedy. I wonder if an element of mental illness could be thrown in on BK's behalf. At least he could get treatment in a mental health facility. Fr I'm m an early age, a system of has failed to catch his condition before it happens.

By definition I would use sympathy in exchange for empathy, but that's MOO

Regarding all the speculation of the BOLO. A BOLO is a be on the look for. I'm sure there was a BOLO, IMO, issued, just for informational purposes to LE across the country on the suspected path of travel of the suspect. IMO LE in Indiana may have conducted the traffic stop(s) to slow the suspect down and let the surveillance teams coordinate their pass offs and pic- ups, per FBI request, or whomever was coordinating the surveillance. One officer, on a stretch of highway deciding to stop a vehicle, which happens to be one of the most talked about in weeks, without knowing it is the subject of a manhunt is incomprehensible. If that's the case, send that rookie back to the academy, JMO.

But the cops in Idaho were NOT looking for that car at that time. They were already tracking it and knew exactly where it was, so they had not sent out any BOLOS to other states, at that time.

For one thing, they had not released the tag number, so a BOLO was not even possible.

So I don't find it incomprehensible that an Indiana officer would just send them on their way. There are hundreds of thousands of white Elantras in the US.

IMO JMO

Does anybody know how to do FlightRadar 24 replays? I've seen some on twitter for the days before the arrest, but not by MSM. They show planes circling right above his parent's house for hours.

The one I saw was for Dec 29 UTC -6:00.

Download the app. There's a playback option. Not sure if it will be helpful or not.

Of course not. Any prior restraint on free speech (ie a gag order) has to be extremely narrowly tailored to be constitutional. Any such order would only apply to specific people/entities - not the public.
Thanks :)

Having said that, it's hard for me to imagine that significant swelling, scratches, bruises, or other marks would have gone unnoticed by those in class with BK in the weeks after the killings. In a roundtable scenario I suppose he could have placed his hands under the table and out of view. Harder to see how we could hide his hands if he had to stand at any point. (New) physical injuries tend to attract attention quite easily, IMO.

During the press conference this afternoon, PA law enforcement confirmed that they broke several windows during the arrest.
So there WAS forcible entry.
My bad

They would not have arrested Bryan if they weren't sure.

Meh, I'm not so sure about that. Police make mistakes all the time, especially at this stage in the game. Even people on death row are exonerated occasionally. I'm not ready to say that just because police wouldn't have arrested BK unless they were sure means that police are right and BK is guilty. MOO.
