I thought that at first, but if you study the layout and photos, the area with possible bloodstains is directly underneath the 2nd level left front bedroom where E&X are thought to have been sleeping.
I'm curious where all these room assignments are coming from.

What have we heard from Xana's parents?
We heard from her dad. That’s how we know she thought, and had defensive wounds.

Back to the blood dripping on the exterior wall (sorry!).

I'm currently building my new house right now.

On top of the concrete foundation there is a foam material (acts like a gasket) placed between the sill plate and the foundation. The sill plate is 2" x 6" pressure treated lumber which the vertical lumber is then attached (framing). When the home is insulated, a heavy-duty caulking is applied around the entire base of the home to seal it even further. You'll see my insulation is currently being installed, when they are done installing the batts, a Visqueen vapor barrier will be installed on top of that (further sealing it), then the sheetrock, flooring, baseboards, etc.
Snipped.

The operative phrase in your first sentence is right now.

What you're saying about the insulating and sealing features would absolutely not be true of an older home, in my experience. Most older homes didn't even use pressurized lumber for the sills. (I don't know what the codes say, but pressurized lumber really isn't necessary unless the house is on a slab; if the house has a foundation that rises about ground level, like most houses with basements do, then the exterior cladding should be sufficient to keep the sills dry.)

Does anyone know of any online sources for unsolved homicide data, preferably broken down by state, that is already in tabular form or a spreadsheet? Data that is kept current would be great. I think it would be interesting to plug such data into ArcPro and see what, if any spatial correlations there might be.
Great idea!
We have several towers in town.

I don’t think the Wi-Fi router question was answered because I don’t think Chief Fry understood it - MOO.

Our PA Bill Thompson said he’s issued search warrants for cellular data, SM, etc, but I don’t know how long those take to get back & analyze — any ideas?
cell phone data time depends on carriers and can vary!

Reposting my original post that got removed due to me failing to adhere to this sites rules and guidelines. My apologies Mods. The below opinion is of my own and does not in anyway reflect the general consensus of anybody or any entity.

Something was off in that house when Kaylee and Maddie arrived home. Was something taken or moved that belonged to Kaylee? Could it be she thought it was her ex-boyfriend who did it so she repeatedly called him? If that was the case, then it may likely be that the killer was already in the house. He could have came through an unlocked sliding door when they were still gone and hid once they arrived. Then one of the victims proceeded to lock the glass door before they went to bed. Possibly a nightly safety ritual. That’s when the killer began his murder spree. When he stabbed sleeping Chapin, he woke Kernodle. He quickly left the mortally wounded Chapin and fought to kill off Kernodle. Chapin crawled away on the floor to yell for help. This is why his body was farther away. Unfortunately his lungs were punctured and him being on his stomach didn’t help with getting air to scream for help. The killer finished Kernodle and her boyfriend. After finishing the rest, he left through a door. One that needs a key code to enter but AUTOLOCKS after closing/exiting. That’s why every door was locked.

Very true, although I thought I read about a remodel but I doubt they took it down to the framing.

There is a psychological theory called the "Johari Window", about who "knows" you and what you tell people about yourself. And you may tell your parents different things than you tell your friends. And there may be things that you don't tell anyone.

This can apply to the victims, as their families may not know absolutely everything going on in their lives. And also the perpetrator.

But somewhere, their paths crossed.

What leads you to believe his body was farther away?

I think somehow the clothing footware was removed before leaving the house. Very very strange nothing made it outside
That is quite possible, good point. I have always thought that most of the vlood on shoes would have been left on floor walking to the sliders from the scene. Also possible that not alot of blood was on the floor when the killer left, perhaps little to not on the floor or shoes as they had not bled out fully before he moved to the next. IMO

What state if you dont mind? Just curious never knew this.
Not entirely accurate. In many states all knives are legal. In mine, even switchblade are and sold in spring good and survival stores.

My kids are single- that is what I was referring to. The singleness of the girls and the guys at the food truck would seem irrelevant.
Every person who glances at members of the opposite sex is not a creep.
My post was in response to those watching the Food Truck video saying all the guys waiting for their food were creeps because they were looking at the girls.
I didn’t get creep vibes from any of the guys at the food truck
The creep would not be on the sidewalk, the creep would be watching them through their windows, following them along the street, watching the Twitch footage to see if they were there, that is a creep

When I was in college, my roommate and I went out to a bar one night and got totally drunk…when the bar closed I had to go use pay phone and call a taxi (this was back in the 80s!) and I literally turned my back on my roommate for three minutes and she was GONE! I searched for her til 3am and then at 7am - we found her dazed and confused, wandering down the sidewalk. Apparently she walked away with some guy I hadn’t even noticed ! He drug her off and raped and beat her severely… they never caught the guy! What I am trying to say is that sometimes it is just a random crime of opportunity, some silent random sicko just waiting for the right opportunity to present itself ….ya never know. I know this crime is different ..I have college aged kids and I always tell them to keep their heads on a swivel

Back to the blood dripping on the exterior wall (sorry!).

I'm currently building my new house right now. I live relatively close to Moscow, but in Washington, so our building codes and the way we build for our climate should be similar. I go back and forth if that is actually blood or not. I will say this, heating oil is rarely used in the PNW and it looks like it can be confirmed this home had electric heating.

I wanted to share a photo of my home so people can maybe visualize the construction a bit better.

I will say that darn, it does really look like blood dripping, but I just can't see it seeping out like that (unless this is a very shoddy built home). I also go back to all the reports that say the victims were killed in their sleep, which to me means they were in their beds. Sorry for being graphic, but wouldn't the mattress act like a sponge and absorb the blood?

Anyway, I have no idea if it's blood or not but thought it might help to show the construction process a bit.

edit: grammar

Could the murderer have stuffed his/her blood-soaked clothing and/or weapon in the wall/vents/between the studs? Maybe they should tear into the wall and check?

I believe MOO, that DNA can determine if the suspect was a man or woman (Stephanie Lazarus case).
True, presuming they have DNA from the suspect.

There is a Naval ROTC program at the school. Looks like there is also an Air Force ROTC at WSU just 8 mi west of there.

Do law enforcement officers carry Ka-Bar type knives? I imagine not.
I really doubt LE would carry one. IMO.
Also just speculation but I highly doubt the knife came from ROTC or any military connection.

I don't think the killer would risk all the dna that would be found if he/she had cleaned up there. Too risky as far as being seen by someone, and too easy to leave something identifying behind. This massacre seems to be a case of getting in quickly, taking care of business and getting out quick. The perp was trying to be all ninja about it.
Agree that killer was quickly in and out. I think he planned and prepared well in advance and was familiar with the unique layout of the house. Entered and exited through second floor sliding door. He likely wore all black clothing to camouflage the blood. Escaped through back wooded area. Maybe had a vehicle parked in nearby apartment building lot. Just speculation on my part.

You do not need a bloodhound for that. You need a dog trained in detecting the human blood and these can be of different breeds. Cocker and Springer spaniels, German shepherds, any of the Belgian shepherds, even mutts. Basically any dog with good smell sense that likes the sniff work and has appropriate temperament for the Police work will do.
They brought in a German Shepherd, but there are no crime scene markers as a result of that search. IMO, I would have brought in another dog just to see if the German Shepherd missed anything. The unsub got in and out of the house somehow. It is hard for me to believe there is ZERO transfer evidence somewhere outside the house considering it was a bloody mess inside.

I didn't even think about that. I really really hope LE is looking and searching everywhere. Good thought!

What state if you dont mind? Just curious never knew this.
In Nevada all knives including autos (switchblades) are legal except possibly (and oddly) daggers.

This profiler believes a psychopathic killer is responsible, and the community is at risk.

Bingo here IMO. This is also why I think LE is taunting with the "messy" statements. The killer enjoyed the planning and execution. If you've ever watched someone prep for an EMT shift, ER shift, SAR event, etc., that's the degree of planning and organization to which I'm referring. I think to them it may be like mise en place for a proficient baker, for ex. ICBW, probably am, but interesting that this profiler who has only info from media, too, has stated so much of this. Also very scary. In the cases of the other two 13th murders linked above in OR and WA, both on Friday or a weekend, maybe the person has a day job and the money to pursue their interests in their off times.

I think the singular 'a woman' is they key difference here. And thrill killer is different. Here is one source:

I'm going to take this as a compliment :) who knows... maybe I'll start writing!

Here are the Idaho rules.

Even if the media were to try taking it to court, the court–-if they even agreed to even hear the case—has to apply Idaho State Laws. The court merely interprets the law, based on court precedent, but legislation is the “law of the land”.

Public Records Act:
Section 74-102 – Idaho State Legislature
Relevant definitions (see definition for "Investigatory record" and “Writing”):
Section 74-101 – Idaho State Legislature
Exemptions (pretty sure LE can keep the 911 call wrapped up for a while):
Section 74-124 – Idaho State Legislature
Thank you for the info.
