If you're able to crawl towards the door, why not just reach for your cell phone? Most likely at arms length from your bed anyway.C
Cell phone could have been on the nightstand and victim didn't have the physical or upper body strength to reach it, may have been trying to get away from the perp, or may not have been coherent enough to realize where the phone was.

Question, the houses like the one they lived in, are they owned by the university or privately owned?
That house is privately owned, probably had a management company to keep track of renters and maintenance and such.
It is not on school grounds While very close to school grounds.
How do I know that- it had a Zillow ad.

I thought one of the girls called someone 7 times within 20 minutes around the time the murders were estimated being committed ?
If I'm not mistaken, the murders are estimated at occurring between 3 and 4 am. So, the missed calls and texts may have been right before the murders but may have been well over an hour before. MOO

One thing I wonder about is why J did not answer the phone. I'm not insinuating he is guilty of anything, but it just seems odd.
My guess is the dude was sleeping.
it was, afterall, 3am.
or maybe he keeps the ringer off when he goes to bed...like me
Or maybe he was ignoring it figuring k & m were drunk dialing him....like I would

Doesn't seem odd at all. Sounds normal to me.

Are you people even in the US? J/k
1st floor, 2nd floor, 3rd floor.
Lol
It varies by your region/country, yes, but also where you actually grew up. People that grew up in NYC and high rises will colloquially use different language when describing floors than those who grew up on farmland with a 2 floor ranch house.

Personally, I wouldnt, nor anyone I know, call that house anything but 1st floor/2nd/3rd. We'd never use the term "ground floor". Like I said, the only time I've ever come across the term being used is in multi-level office buildings and such--never when describing a single residential home.
Also for simplicity, 1, 2, 3.

Privately owned. Off campus housing is normally privately owned.

From the beginning I had had the feeling LE firmly had this matter under control, arrests soon to follow.

Now -- not so much.

You?

It has been said that his phone was turned off-He was at home sleeping with his phone turned off.
Not sure if this is accurate but it has been stated.

I still want to know where X and E were from 9 to 130 if they left the party @9 like LEs updated timeline says!

  • #912
Is that a fact?
MOO: I thought they talked at around midnight. Plenty of times I have called my mom around 23 or my mom has called me around 23 and we talked for almost an hour. Depending on the fathers biorythm or work schedule, it might not be odd at all.
We’re they going on a trip in the morning with her boyfriend Maybe just checking in before that?

That is my understanding too, what I don’t know is how they arrived at the 4AM.
It has to be after 3AM because of the phone calls to J.
They must have left a voicemail or a text that identifies them- or no one could be certain they were the ones that made those calls.
So, how does anyone know the murders didn’t take place anytime between 3AM -11AM?
Did some other event occur?
Are they assuming that the perp would have to be out of the house at dawn? Is dawn 4AM in Idaho in November?? Idk?

And in my 62 years, most of it spent in hillside homes, I have never once heard the lowest floor called a ‘walkout basement.’

It doesn’t really matter, unless it helps reinforce the idea that the killer might not have understood that the lowest floor was living space, rather than utility space.

It’s definitely feeling questionable at this point- hopefully there’s a lot more they know and they are closer then we think

I agree. Hoping it’s just taking time due to a thorough investigation and they have something substantial….but not feeling optimistic.

Styling/staging, costume or outfit put on, special attention, written note - just lots of twisted out there. If I were writing this from my imagination for high impact, I know what I'd do.

Possibly only one victim was covered by the murderer, with blanket over body and face.

Does anyone know if there had been any maintenance or repair work done in the house recently? Any workmen or contractors been in the house recently?

I noted this back when the article came out. People are a little uncomfortable discussing it because it may imply some sort of guilt on behalf of the victims, but that is not how I mean it. To me this crime speaks of someone coming from the past (maybe recent past) because they’re very angry about someone’s improved circumstances and moving on. I thought Kaylee maybe because of the new job, Range Rover, etc. but reference to Xana having trouble before is interesting. Now she was happy in a new relationship and doing well. Who could that trigger? It doesn’t necessarily have to be an ex or a stalker, it could be related to money or other issues as well. But also it’s probably nothing, of course.
Could be that after getting involved with E, K took her studies more seriously, as K's father said that K was helping E was his studying regime, or something of that nature. Just speculation of course.
