I need a whiteboard to map out all of this back and forth with the supposed facts. I’m fine with LE telling us little, but try to be consistent. Get a quarterback and run it all through him-Snell?

I’m sure this has been discussed as it’s been mentioned on numerous social media but it’s validated - There was a police attended incident just a few hundred meters from the house at 3.01 AM on the morning. Between Sigma Chi and the victims house. Police report says alcohol related.

Also there is a report in the police log at 5.30 PM of someone wanting help locating a dog that had been dropped off at a shelter. It’s interesting as despite most incidents on the log having no report. For this it says a computer report was taken. Seems unique compared to other entries in particular in why this sort of incident (Just someone wanting help finding where it may have gone) might need a computer documented police report.
If the dog belonged to a murder victim, then the dog would be considered "property" of that victim. Dog had been taken to the shelter and released to a responsible party. Whoever picked up the dog probably needed to prove that they were next of kin to a murder victim. (I think K's parents picked up the dog and then gave the dog to J MOO)

Bill Thompson would best serve the investigation by holding his tongue about this case until it is his (i.e., there is a named defendant).

It is his case. He is overseeing and/or administering every single facet of it, including what can and cannot be shared with the public. So if he says something, it has been fully vetted and isn't inaccurate.

My opinion.

The depravity, violence & pure evil of the act makes me think this killer isn’t someone prone to intimate friendships. MOO. (Wanted to say that ) I could be wrong. It’s happened.
You definitely could be right but then I look at Ted Bundy (kind of sick of bringing him up but it's a good example here) who was able to maintain relationships. Same with BTK. Up close and personal depravity was part of their MO. By contrast you have someone like Ted Kaczynski who was a recluse and his crimes seemed to follow that by killing people from a far distance. JMO!

Regarding the interview with Latah County Prosecutor Bill Thompson, we feel his responses were messaged to support the implication that new information had been released. Specifically, generalized statements regarding the potential of targeted victims and the involvement of drugs were redefined into an affirmative answer. At this time, there is no change or new information in this case, and references otherwise would be inaccurate.

It's possible or likely he is expected to strike again
or
they have no idea who what how or even why and that would be scary. It would suggest they suspect a completely unknown quantity.
Hopefully not.
I think this is for peace of mind for everyone.

Well that's a big ball of ambiguity...

Can I ask you your opinion on something? The fire chief said the police were first to arrive on scene, which makes sense. They are a volunteer fire department and the two times I’ve had to call an ambulance, police showed up first, I’m assuming because they’re already patrol on the area. The fire chief said that the first responders from the fire and EMS didn’t go inside or transport anyone. I’m assuming because police knew it was a crime scene, the victims were beyond saving and they didn’t want them to contaminate the crime scene.

Does fire/EMS always wait for police to go inside and clear a scene before letting them in? I’m just wondering how that initial response from the police would have looked like and what would have made them wait to let fire/EMS go inside, especially based on the 911 call. If someone on the call said there was someone not moving, would they have fire/EMS wait for them to check everything? Would they make them wait if the caller said someone wasn’t moving and they saw blood? Would they make them wait if they said the doors were locked and they couldn’t get ahold of their roommates?

I understand that we don’t know how long there was between when the police got there vs. when fire/EMS got there, especially since it is a volunteer fire department, but I can’t imagine there was more than 5 minutes or so between the two, especially since it’s not a rural VFD. I could be wrong about that though!

Link to fire chief statement:

I suspect LE was clearing the scene to make sure the perpetrator was not still on the premises. Also, LE may have determined immediately that all the victims were deceased and was trying to limit access to preserve evidence.
