The brazenness of the crime is almost incomprehensible to me, and I think cannot be ignored or understated. I really do lean (as I've posted before) towards a peripheral suspect, someone mostly unknown to the victims, but the fact that the perp came and went without anyone seeing him (at least as far as we know so far) is truly horrifying.

My hypothesis based on the photos in the kitchen is that investigators unloaded the dirty dishes from the sink to check the drain for traces of blood in case the killer washed off the knife there. MOO.

Just reiterating my opinion on the Fox interview (which is different from most of comments thus far on the thread). Just my interpretation, no need to do the pile on

Behavior patterns -

(a) first time he says it I think he's talking about law enforcement's actions directly after getting the phone info from the family and
(b) the second time I think he's talking about the killer's behavior during the murders.

I've listened to it three times at least (plus lots of rewinds) and not sure my mind will change.

Why does the Dad have his daughter’s phone? Shouldn’t it be in a forensics lab for biological and computer testing?

I understood he has a "family plan" and was able to assist LEO on getting into her phone. I can see our family plan phone calls from my computer (but not texts). Maybe it was a patter of phone calls, or lack there of?

It's like there's 3 shower curtains and you've got to choose the right one to reveal the killer, but some of the clues change. There are so many possibilities at this stage, with only what we the public know so far. MOO: Maybe it was a serial killer in town for some other purpose and went looking for an unlocked entry, or... somebody they knew, consumed with rage, did it.

There is also the possibility that IF there was more than one perp involved, the two could have different motives. For example, one could be reactive (say revenge) and the other instrumental (in it for the thrill of the hunt/kill).

Police need evidence that is legitimate, without question.
And why would they bypass a legitimate warrant directly to service providers and spend limited funds paying private advertisers to source evidence any defense attorney will easily tear apart in court?

I absolutely must address this comment. It is an extremely accurate way to determine who the killers are in the first place. If they had their phones on, they can be found. If they left their phones in a car parked in the woods, they can be found. Police have no leads, why in the world would they NOT do this investigation???

They don't do this because it may not be completely legal from a prosecutorial stand point.<modsnip>
The way prosecutions are supposed to work is they identify a crime, and based on the evidence determine probable cause to obtain a warrant. That warrant leads to more evidence that leads to the decision to prosecute or not. It's not supposed to be identify people and find a crime they've committed. This flies in the face of innocent until proven guilty.

Blanket dragnets to view ALL people in a certain area violates constitutional rights in the eyes of some, so it's important to let the actual physical evidence lead to an arrest otherwise the conviction is at risk if they did anything illegal in identifying the suspect

That was interesting albeit confusing. At one point Martha asks about him getting into Kaylee's phone and what he learned. He stated there was some info which he got to LE that definitely helped. That "the behavior footprint afterwards did definitely get some more things in the works."

Later she asks him was Kaylee the target over anyone else or vice versa. He stated he has some inkling there was some behavior difference, he calls it a footprint, when you commit a crime you do different behaviors. Martha asks behavior of her, Kaylee, or someone she knew. He states behavior of the victims.

Which victims behavior is he speaking of and what was it?

I have to confess I was baffled by that statement about behavior of the victims. Also puzzling that he spoke of doing different behaviors when you commit a crime. I feel like I’m in a maze and can’t find my way out. I do believe LE would prefer the families to maintain a level of silence so as not to confuse the public, but I can’t imagine how hard it would be not to want to make statements if you think you have an idea of what might have happened. My heart goes out to the families. I think most of us are trying to be patient and allow LE to do their investigation. Just my opinion, as always.

I can't say anything about whether the grieving parents should or shouldn't do or say. I seriously cannot imagine the shock and trauma they are experiencing right now, combined with the fact that the suspect is still not in custody. I say allow them to grieve in whatever way gets them through each day, hour by hour.

I feel for LE and the pressure they're under, I do feel like they are making some progress behind the scenes (I'm sure some DNA testing and maybe subpoenas for internet, phones and vehicle telematics are starting to come in) and I hope we get an arrest soon, for the sake of the victims, the families and the community as a whole.

I think they can’t mentally part with their kids, can’t put them to rest, you know? A chance for SG to talk about his daughter, in whatever way - about how beautiful or smart she was, or even the crime scene - still means mentally keeping her with him, in his mind, you know? What they say might be very relevant to the case, or irrelevant at all, it is just how some people grieve. He will have to let Kaylee go, eventually, but is not ready yet.

MPD said that they will not say who was found in (which) bed and who not. They have stated that at the beginning of the attack "The four victims were likely asleep, some had defensive wounds, and each was stabbed multiple times".
K's dad suddenly said at the vigil that they were in the same bed. If it's true or not, where did he get that idea from and for what reason did he say it in his speech, is unkown.

As a parent, if this happened to my daughter…I’d find great comfort knowing she didn’t die alone. And maybe that would be the only thing that would get me through this horror…to think they died in each other’s arms. I could see myself reminding myself and telling others.

I am unfamiliar with Idaho privacy laws but in some states you can video record in common and public spaces but you can not audio record. I was curious if any devices like alexa, siri, ring cam or security cameras could have recorded some faint audio sounds in or around the crime scene. We hear a lot about images but no audio. Can’t a computer program analyze for these sounds? or is that just in the movies?
