Heartbreaking she never got walk in her graduation in Dec :(

the thought that maybe it was an out of town/state guest at E's sisters event earlier is circling my mind. Endless possibilities like he spent time with E&X there then ended up at E's frat, poss. encountered K&M at the bar etc. I'm feeling an out of town/state vibe tonight after MPD released call for info on the Hyundai.
wouldn't the cops have this guy already though if that were the case imo

My thoughts on the importance of the car!

On a nearby camera...
the car was parked with its headlights on around the time and direction the LE believe the perp fled the scene hence the individuals in the car could've seen something important or suspicious
-or-
someone jumped into the car and they drove off, the police are looking to clear said passengers

Pardon my opinion but that would be so odd for a knife wielding murderer to drive a hyundai so I do think the police are just looking for more information from that night
Interestingly enough, this article states that Hyundai, BMW and Mercedes owners are the most likely to keep a weapon in their car, with 50% being a knife.

And add WA since they're close to the border, not to mention how many out of state students. Daunting.
I was looking through old nickelsworth ads for auto sales. (Nickelsworth being the local thrifty nickel paper for the northern Idaho counties and Spokane). I noticed many autos with tire chains and 4 wheel drive. I’m not used to that kind of weather, so it was a reminder for me that there probably aren’t a lot of Camaros(personal experience with my older brother’s first car)in a snowy town.

Stolen common white non descript vehicles that they can dispose, which are hard to trace due to their commonality, so they can go in, do the crime and avoid police detection, then dump and burn to avoid prosecution.

What color was Teds Folks Wagon? Common as church mice

Beigish. Older pictures of it, it looks that standard VW beige from the 60's, later it's a bit more orangey beige.

The body cam footage from the alcohol-related incident in the park next to the house shortly after 3AM the night of the murders was released about 24 hours ago, and the interwebs instantly honed in on a white sedan driving past...
Does someone have a link to the body cam footage from the alcohol incident? Also, are we sure the car that drives past is the same car that the police are interested in?

For those wondering about timing, maybe the car in question was coming rather than going to the scene? I don't know what direction it was going in in the body cam footage, but it could've gone somewhere else later.

Or it could've parked somewhere nearby but not at the scene. Though I also wonder whether those tire marks near the house that LE was looking at were related to that car...

If you’re talking about the one in Oregon, i have no idea.
LE said it wasn’t related to the murders in Moscow.
While these cases share similarities with the King Street homicides, there does not appear to be any evidence to support the cases are related.

The release of the specific car tells me they more than likely know who owns it and are looking for witnesses and confirmation.

My opinion.
Or they dropped this info to wait and see if someone suddenly rids themselves of one.

Same here. Has there been any info released about the type of knife used in the stabbing attack of the couple (the male died and the female survived)?

Detectives investigating the mysterious stabbing deaths of four University of Idaho students are thought to be searching for a “Rambo”-style knife.

Scott Jutte, the general manager of a building supply store in Moscow, Idaho, told the Idaho Statesman that detectives have repeatedly visited his store to ask if he’d sold Ka-Bar brand knives, which are also known as K-bar knives, to anyone in town.

Edit -Jutte says it’s typically a blade one side, serrated the other side and approximately 6 inches long.

Sorry MCMi9viv, I misread your post, I have no idea what crime you’re talking about.

I wonder if there was any text exchange going on between the girls and the ex BF that night when they were calling. I know when I m trying to get ahold of someone and its urgent and they dont answer i would then text, I know kids do it. Kids text more than call. I wonder if they were trying to reach him over the dog. Was the dog acting strange, did the dog sense something. Was the dog put away.

Apologies if this has already been discussed, but the photo of the house where you can see blood on the foundations… what part of the house is that? I can only see zoomed in photos.
The "blood", as described by the DailyMail, is on the wall at the back of the house. The photo of the blood is taken from the 2nd floor balcony. That was Xana's bedroom.

LE has not confirmed the white hyundai they're looking for is the same car in the body cam footage but the timeline matches up exactly so it's pretty safe to say it's probably the same car.

The four murdered roommates arrived home before 2 AM. The two living roommates arrived home around 1 AM and went to sleep.

Madison and Kaylee brought food home, and made 7 phone calls until almost 3 AM. They are confirmed alive at 3 AM. The murders can apparently be confirmed as having happened before 4 AM. How do police know this? No idea. Maybe one of the victims was wearing a fitbit, where increased heartbeat was detected, then heartbeat stopped ... before 4 AM?

I think this was premeditated, and that the killer knew where the target lived before that night. I think the killer spent time on the hill behind the house looking into the bedrooms.

I think that the killer and at least one of the victims had at least one prior interaction - might be something as insignificant to the victim as passing on the street. Something triggered the killer to get some fantasy in his head regarding the victim and a hunting knife ... premeditated. He might have followed the targeted victim that evening, perhaps the killer parked near frat party cars and walked around behind the house, sat on the hill, looked into the bedroom windows.

Lights went out around 3 AM. Wait 30 minutes for everyone to pass out sleep, enter through the damaged patio door.
I agree with so much of this.
Looking at the diagram, X & E’s room was right next to the steps leading to the first floor! Did the killer go down there or not...

So many questions.
Ashleigh Banfield just started on News Nation. New info about a foto of 2 of the girls she claims may have been taken right before the murders. Waiting on video~

My screenshot of this where you could still see the cars was from 12-5-22. So basically this blurring occurred between 12-5-22 and 12-7-22. I agree the license plates are often though not always blurred but I agree, mostly - I base this on looking through various houses in my neighborhood and nearby neighborhoods. BUT this photo was not blurred when I took the screen shot on 12-5-22. It might all be completely innocent where the company that owns the house asked for this...but in light of the ask for witnesses or the driver of the Hyandia Elantra, it might not be. What a coincidence in timing if it is innocent.
I can narrow it down even more. I posted yesterday morning that the house was blurred in Google Maps.

JMO Possibly the killer spared the dog Murphy because he didn’t want to risk the dog yelping while killing him.

Generally speaking a dog would not yelp at someone he knows. Was Murphy the kind of dog that would bark down the house if a stranger entered Or a quiet dog?

Can't help thinking that the killer is -- 'hiding in plain sight'.....
Hoping fervently for an arrest soon !

Their grieving parents must be so frustrated ; and I also feel they want to ensure not only justice for their beloved children, but that he/she is caught so they do not strike again !
Imo.

Ok I think some people pay a lump sum for health and accidental death but could be different in different countries.
Students in U.S. universities are required to have their own insurance (usually they are still covered through their parents' health insurance if they are traditional age undergraduate students). If they don't have health insurance through their parents or other means, they are required to purchase health insurance through the university.

International students are required to have health insurance that includes repatriation of remains in the event that the student passes away while studying in the U.S.

It wasn’t snowy and there was no snow on the ground at the time of the murders.
It sounds like police are looking for a vehicle that was seen in the area at the time of the murders on CCTV. They know the type of vehicle, but they don't know the license plate. Sounds like a side shot of the car. If no one comes forward as the car's owner, police will become more interested in the vehicle, and will look farther and wider for the owner. If it is a stolen vehicle, police will follow that theft to find the killer.
