Could there be a bunch of people who are feeling ashamed and guilty of themselves because maybe they knowingly wound up a situation? Obv nobody in their right mind would imagine someone's going to slaughter a bunch of people but youngsters do perpetrate pack mentality bullying, malicious gossip, and some types of personalities love to triangulate and watch stuff go off with a bang. It's all part of growing up that we learn along the way, these people were just really kids in a tiny bubble. Is (dysfunctional) group dynamics sitting behind this I wonder? And if so, could some people have solid reasons to feel so ashamed they don't want the truth coming out? Or are there people (in responsible job positions maybe) who are fully aware there's been terribly serious issues that should have been notified to authorities long before this incident happened?

Within a "bunch" of observers or participants in the activities you describe we can hope for an outlier or two who will come forward to LE with what they know. I hope so.

what's the Occams Razor scenario here? that it was someone who hated all (or most) of them?

*MOO*
If it's true at least 1 was target and others collateral, and there aren't crazy weird details, I just wonder how random it can really be. MOO with what we kinda know. I never assume to know anything, lol. Just putting together the puzzle.

I think Ockham's Razor can be thrown out the window on this one. When 10 different people have ten different ideas as to what the simplest theory is, there is none. JMO
The crime is too unusual for that standard to apply.

most likely not random and/or stranger, i agree. MOO.

One target, three collateral.
I do not necessarily believe that all four were targets, but I am inclined to believe that perhaps more than one was, likely at least two, and possibly 3. I believe the fact that victims were found on both the second and third floors is not just the result of accidentally bumping into someone, while attempting to leave, and then having to kill them as well. Perhaps the people reporting seeing the white Elantra near the home, or any video showing it, were not clear enough to show any "identifying" markers, or perhaps there were none. LE clearly did not have a valid license plate for the vehicle, or they would have shared it. And respectfully, LE was not asking anyone to confront anyone driving a white 2011-2013 Hyundai Elantra, but merely to phone in any information they thought may be helpful. I do not see a great deal of danger in that, for either the caller or the vehicle owner/operator. A very general description of a vehicle often results in the vehicle being found. A couple of examples in cases I followed here were the car in the Sierra LaMar case, and the pickup truck in the Naomi Irion case, fairly recently. And respectfully, that the vehicle's occupant may have witnessed something could not only be A lead, but could prove to be THE lead LE needs to break this case. JMO
Also in the Chad Isaak case. It was recognized immediately by a LEO as belonging to his chiropractor! His white truck with the distinctive mud pattern really sealed the deal in his trial.

Something like that, except the crime is unusual enough to make it extremely difficult to narrow all the variables down to a simple Occam’s razor explanation.

I thought that was Maddies sign her Sorority bedroom that she moved with her to 1122?
I’ve seen it in photos of Kaylees bedroom (the 3rd floor bedroom with the slider.) I don’t think the photo of Maddie’s bedroom with the sign from Pinterest was recent, maybe a different house? It’s also possible they had 3 Good Vibes signs. IMO

Maybe 2 perps, one on each floor, no back and forth. That would explain the different nature of the wounds. Just my opinion
I think the different nature of the wounds is due to the same knife being used and possibly getting dull and the perp possibly getting tired. I still believe it was only one perp.

Both K and M's rooms were on the third floor at the back, yes.

IMO I don't think that's the image SG is talking about. I feel the pic of K's room was likely a pic taken by crime scene photographer.
I think that news picture was the picture he saw, mainly because he said he had seen pictures and knew it was her room because he had been there before and had “inside information.” IMO

Ok. Thanks for the info. Police should release the photo/video of suspected vehicle. Not a stock photo, color, and model. Imagine an innocent person living in Moscow ID driving your 2012 Hyundai Elantra. Is that fair? Too vague for an official press release. If only 800, then investigate internally.
IMO, the owner of the 2011-2013 white Hyundai Elantra is not in Moscow, ID. Neither is the actual vehicle in Moscow, at least not since the crime. Anyone who owns or drives that type of car that lives in Moscow would have been thoroughly investigated and if police still had grave suspicions about them, they wouldn’t have needed to make it public yet.

That doesn’t mean the person that was driving the Elantra isn’t from Moscow though. I just think the person that owns the vehicle or has the registration in their name does not live in Moscow.

@North_Idaho_Nony K just bought her SUV. Would she transfer her old tags to her new car or put a temporary tag in her back window? Would a temp tag be from the dealership? Just wondering how that works in Idaho. tia

No experience with ID but Colo and WY are atleast 30 days, and it seems now all dealer leave the plastic plate advertising their business on the outside and tape the legal paper temp tag inside the back window if that is of any help.

Gotcha', yes, that was the picture I was referring to. Maybe it was a sorority fad for all the girls to get a sign like that. Edit the pininterest I saw was MM's bedroom. Disregard my comments, I'm muddying your train of thought lol. Sorry.

They mentioned a fight that Xana broke up on Dr. Phil yesterday.

This seems to be glossed over. Is there any information on it?

<modsnip - quoted post was removed>

I speculate but feel absolutely certain that for the last month parents are pulling their kids out of Idaho studies, refusing to pay fee arrangements, pulling them out of rental accommodation and with zero intention to return. The knock on effects will be a population of 26k of which 50% are students will drop significantly - the financial loss to local businesses and the entire community of trade and commerce connected to students will be devastating because of this crime. There are possibly solid motivations for anyone who 'should have known better' to be absolutely losing it right now, no matter who they are and what their position in this is.

(In the same way as Praia da Luz suffered when Madeleine McC disappeared).

I don't think they have a photo or video footage. I think they only have a report from someone saying a car of the description was near the crime scene.

I also think LE has a valid reason for asking for help finding this vehicle although the ask may seem too vague in the opiníon of non-LE.

You ask is it fair to report to LE or for LE to stop anyone driving or in possession of such a vehicle. Because of the seriousness of the crime, I think they do have cause. This is not a hit & run. It is mass murder. JMO!

Cops set up drunk checkpoints on some holidays. As long as civil rights are observed, such stops have been declared legal, I believe.

I am not in favor of guilty until proven innocent approaches by LE since it violates Constitutional rights but there are exceptions that are valid IMO. Overreach tends to be litigated so that protects rights at least to a degree.

i tend to agree, hard to pinpoint a "simplest" explanation in a case like this, especially when we don't have access to the evidence and there are so many rumors flying around. if we take statistics into account as well, the best i can say is that the Occams Razor is that it was a revenge killing by a male known to all or most of them.

What if someone close realised the knife in question belonged to them? Maybe had been stolen and they failed to report? Or that they had noticed it missing from somewhere or had even worse, lent it to the perpatrator?

One target, three collateral.
That's a lot of collateral.

Someone wanted them all dead is the simplest solution in my way of thinking based on what we know. JMO
