Yup. I got chills when I read it. It scared me at the time, and here we are. Why was he in Washington for his PhD? Was school his safe space, did he actually have an aspiration that required it, or could he not get a job?
Or he wanted to excell as an research investigator and he found an appropriate research programme at WSU? He makes an impression of being very ambitious pursuing his goals individual.

Somebody posted a video on twitter showing media etc in his hometown. You could see a sign in the background that says Indian Mountain lake, so I googled it. Here is the website and note there is a link on their site about the FBI Raid today :oops::oops:

Unfortunately, you have to login to read the post.

Or, it’s his and it’d draw attention to himself if he suddenly had no car. JMO
This is the most likely reason, IMO.

Hyundai Elantras are fleet cars, there’s thousands of them on the road even if you narrow it down by generation and color. A white Hyundai Elantra isn’t rare, and unless he had unique changes to the car such as decals or wheels, it’s just another Elantra.

However, a guy with a white Hyundai Elantra that was in the area at the time of the crime and subsequently stopped owning said car? That would be suspicious.

There’s nothing suspicious about someone being a grad student. The theory that I saw here, (if I remember rightly,) was that it was someone who wasn’t in school, but was clinging on to student life, anyway.

Can someone screenshot for those not in US?

Some

Kohberger was arrested Friday in Chestnuthill Township, inside Indian Mountain Lakes, a gated community, civic association officials told residents in a letter posted to Facebook.

Lawrence Rosenberg said on social media that he knew Kohberger, who said he attended Monroe County Technical Institute with him for a few years before leaving in 2014.

Rosenberg said Kohberger knows a lot of people in the Poconos area and would get together with friends at Indian Mountain Lakes.

”He was always a strange person,” Rosenberg said.

Boyce Jubilan, associate professor and chair of DeSales University’s psychology program, told the Philadelphia Inquirer that news of Kohberger’s arrest was a “shock.” He was a research supervisor to Kohberger in the late 2010s, and said he was “a little awkward with his peers” and “liked to work alone.”

Would love to propose a moratorium on comments about IG. Every 5 minutes the exact same conversation is occurring from someone who hasn’t read the thread.

We do not know if that IG account is real or not. People do username spoofing to scam their new followers in the future. Absolutely nothing is gained from talking about it because the account has no photos. There is no info on the acct beyond that it follows them. Not really worthy of our time at the moment.
At least now I understand how so many people fall for internet scams. JLo followed me on Instagram! She just needs me to send her $10,000 in Bitcoin to buy a plane ticket out of Croatia because she lost her wallet.

I doubt this guy was in any DNA database, so it seems the late development with the car is what turned it around. If this guy had been a suspect early on, the police would not have gone public about the car?

He was a college security guard, requires fingerprints send to PA State Police. If FBI had any hint on the license plate of the car, as PA, they may have searched the PSP data base.

State police collect finger prints for a large number of professions. Some states are working to roll into a master/common working file.

Must file a petition with the following attachments:

  • Passport photos (2)
  • Letters from character witnesses pointing out your good moral character
  • Certified proof of criminal background check
  • Fingerprint card with fee (this card must be submitted to the County Clerk’s office with a money order that will be mailed to the Pennsylvania State police)
security guard at a school afaik but resigned from Mount Pleasant school district in 2021

If you type those into twitter he will come up ( have posted the links on the last thread)

nonetheless if the school boards in PA also asks for prints that's still interesting

Suspect in killings of 4 Idaho college students arrested in Poconos; was DeSales University grad with criminal justice degree

The Bolded red by me doesn't surprise me one bit and I believe it. That is why I don't think we will learn that there are any further arrests anticipated, despite BK's reported comment upon being taken into custody.

"His DNA matched material at the scene."

If they matched his DNA it would have to be in an existing database right? so I wonder which database it was in and why was it in there.

why keep the car?
Cars aren’t cheap. It might be his only transportation. He’s a grad student, not someone making big bucks somewhere.

Why wouldn't WSU have had his auto on file?

Because he lived in University-owned housing? Police are at his apartment as we speak. I don't think they've finished yet, anyway.

Fox News Seattle

If he parked on campus, at his apartment, he had a permit. And if he still had an out-of-state plate, campus parking enforcement would surely have ridden up on him and given a ticket for an unpermitted car, it would have been really obvious

Just some fyi about the Elantra ID.. I know different states have different laws about plates on cars. Some require front and back plates. Some only rear. I live in PA, if the car was reg in PA there would only be plates on tha back. So could only be ID’d if seen from the rear. IF LE had that info at all. Just sharing
Moo...I felt FBI had some, identifying information from the tag, via video. They just didn't know where he was located/hidden.
