From the above link:

"...“His aunt and uncle had to buy new pots and pans because he would not eat from anything that had ever had meat cooked in them. He seemed very OCD [obsessive-compulsive disorder]...

So much for the rampant speculation about him being a hunter.

He hunts garbanzos and mushrooms? This was a great find and I am impressed (just this one time) with the NY Post getting an actual exclusive.

"Beyond vegan" says his aunt. I figure he was probably that rare unicorn: a Keto vegan (with the inability to handle animal products in any form, per this article). Must have been difficult to live with.

At Ohio universities, students studying in colleges of education must provide both a current Ohio BCI and FBI background check before beginning any field work in preK - 12.

True in PA also because field observations in K-12 start so quickly in the college programs.

Wonder if this depraved coward's parents, knowing that he went to school near Moscow and drove a white Elantra, ever contacted detectives?

The Constitution.
Maybe I’m reading into this comment wrong, but I was genuine in my question, and this response seems disingenuous. We aren’t all constitutional experts. A simple explanation about what in the constitution provides this right would have been helpful. Perhaps, instead of being (imo) rude, simply scroll past my posts. Thank you.

Kaylee Goncalves' family says they did not know of Bryan Kohlberger, the man accused of killing their daughter and three other University of Idaho students

According to the kxly.com site, BK’s next hearing is in regards to his extradition back to Ohio. It is scheduled for January 3rd.

I suppose that I could Google, but I know that there are some members with actual LE background here so I’m asking the experts. Why doesn’t extradition to another state happen ASAP?
It is still used in prosecutions. Sometimes a state will wave extradition. A few years ago, there were serious charges in two states. Sometimes the state with the weaker case will yield to another. Sometimes the state with the more serious charge will prosecute.

Not necessarily. They might have had him on the radar as a suspect, pulled some of his DNA from discarded trash (or a cup or napkin he walked away from at a restaurant), and matched it to DNA from the crime scene.
Yes. I hadn't thought that far before I posted. Maybe we'll know something about how that match occurred at the press conference or at the extradition hearing.
moo.

Were there garages available, or just street parking?
Honestly, I do not remember but do know that most apartments, which were not student housing, had their assigned parking spaces. I don't recall garages, I attended parties there in the day, and like the murder victims were, was often rather under the influence. Pullman and Moscow, MAJOR partying. Pullman is primarily a college town, Moscow is becoming more of an actual town not just associated with the U of I. Moscow or off-campus parties are usually where my friends and I would go. By the end of my freshman year, I was done with partying for the most part.

I am anticipating a "brilliant" doctorate level Manifesto being found...

Unfortunately, I agree. I think this was for his research and LE is going to uncover his writing about it.

I say this because I worked at a prestigious university and on a daily basis came into contact with the doctoral students, besides having dated 3 or 4 of them, they were for the most part extremely socially awkward and emotionally blank upon meeting, but make no mistake - intellectually arrogant, aloof, and considered themselves intellectually superior to most everyone. Imo this suspect is going to try to outwit everyone at every step along the way - because that was his MO during his lifetime, his great control over his intellectual and academic prowess. I think he was praised for his intellect by family and those who knew him - but also a great intelligence in one area of a person's development that a person can get attention for can overshadow a lacking in another area - think emotional intelligence - that they need help developing - there is a theory of multiple intelligences that posits this - worth a look!
IMO you don't have to be super smart to complete graduate work. Ask me, I'm honestly not smart. It's more putting in the work. Also is WSU academically renowned or something? Not familiar with American state college system.

Someone knows how long the survey had been up - but the professor who approved it has spoken out. This article doesn't mention when BK left the program, and says "late 2010's" but another article (which I can't find right now, so MOO) says BK left DeSales in 2014 (there's a video of his graduation event - it's been posted several times).

ANYWAY, yes, I DO believe his program of study was designed to both indulge and quell his inner life. Initially, by studying psychology and trying to be a psychologist (community college level), he was hoping to fix himself. But it turns out to be very difficult for anyone (including psychologists) to "fix themselves" when they have a seriously disordered brain/mind.

I do hope someone studies this guy. I think he's the type who would love to write a book in prison (ghost written).

It's still absolutely bizarre that he killed four students to whom he had to have been either a stranger or almost a stranger. I think there's some kind of message in his crime. I can't even imagine the interior of his mind, though.
My guess is that some error was made about the dates. If BK graduated from DeSales in 2022 and posted an apparently approved project in May of that year, couldn't he have been at DeSales more recently? Someone should check my math, but if he's 28 now, in 2010 he would have been ~16 years old. In 2014, he would have been ~20. Very early to be leaving an MA program.

JMO

Edited to correct ages.

Thanks. I didnt realize it was a mug shot ... he looks so relaxed and casual lol. I'll delete in 24 hours.
I think you only have an hour after posting to edit a post. You can always click 'report' on a post and ask a mod to edit/delete.

If one isn't found, he'll have lots of opportunities to interview criminals for another one.

tbf that was mostly led by profilers who made links to a knife type. iirc those WS posts didn't happen in a vacuum

maybe people will recall all the professional and retired specialist profilers who opined on this over the last 5 weeks.
