But maybe they did follow up and it was nothing so they just brushed it off in public instead bringing attention and credibility to it by saying something like "Yes, we tracked down the old staring man who gave JM the creeps and he is one of the 14 residents of Leodore and has an alibi."

Also, they might have a firm belief of what happened to DeOrr and so don't care about any staring people anywhere.

Just to be clear, I am agreeing with you!

I hope this is the case. I really do. I can't fathom what is taking the FBI so long, though.... some days I am confident they know and they are just getting their ducks in a row, other days I think they have nothing (perhaps suspicions, but no evidence) and it will go unsolved...

Right, where everyone would notice someone from out of town. Seems completely logical. It also seems completely logical to do something weird to draw attention to yourself a week after you've kidnapped a child.

However, criminals are not always the sharpest tools in the shed. Ted Bundy traveled all over the United States in that damn Volkswagen of his. He took women from parking garages, hotels, out riding their bikes, etc., and many times, in small towns.

But did they hire him - are they paying him?? He might just be a glory-seeker who's attached himself to the case and offered to work for free... And they thought why not, it can't hurt.

I don't think the family has a lot of money to throw away on PIs.

Does anyone know what these FBI reports normally contain? I don't expect for it to have any answers for some reason, but maybe I'm being pessimistic.

I wish they'd gone ahead with the re-enactment - it would be better than their silence and would clear up some questions. Maybe they saw people mocking the idea on SM and changed their minds?

About the axe and coveralls... maybe the PI gave the media a long list of all sorts of things that LE had taken, and the media just reported the "interesting"/ suspicious-sounding items for their story. I really don't believe that the PI and/or the family are conspiring to convince everyone that GGP is an axe murderer!

I'm not sure - are they re-interviewing everyone themselves?

This is exactly what I thought when I read the article, too. Maybe contacting the reporter to clarify would clear this up (I seem to remember a couple of folks here being in contact with EIN?).

My feeling is that there will be no actual report released to the public.... there will either be an immediate arrest or else the FBI will just say that they have handed over their findings to the sheriff and/or prosecuting attorney and it will be up to them to decide when and if charges will be filed. They (the prosecutors) could call in a grand jury to decide whether or not there is sufficient evidence to charge anyone. MOO.

Am I crazy or did the woman say she reported it to LE July 19?

Yes, she said she reported it to Lemhi County LE on July 19th.

Can I ask a potentially silly question.

Have the FBI actually been at the scene in Timber Creek/Leadore/Lemhi County and if not, would it be unusual?

Sorry but isn't this just ridiculous?

As part of the re-enactment, Vilt used a girl around Kunz's age to demonstrate how easy it would be for someone to abduct a child from the remote campsite.

“This gentleman who was camping here went inside his trailer just for a moment and I just walked up and took the child, the child came with me,” said Vilt.

Also GGP getting it again.

Per the article, the woman that reported the man has a child DeOrr's age. There was no mention of her child's sex or coloring but if the child was a blonde male maybe the staring man was trying to figure out if it was DeOrr. It might not have been the same man JM saw either.

Vilt said Kunz's parents left him with his grandfather the morning of his disappearance while they went to scout fishing locations.
“The grandfather could have been distracted,” said Vilt.

After Monday's exercise, Vilt said he's more sure than ever that Kunz was abducted and that Kunz's parents had nothing to do with his disappearance as some have suggested.

My thoughts exactly.
