Thanks Dee and Zoosleuth, I think that's the wrong article. But I did find SB's statements about the polygraphs in this article. It's right beneath that adorable pic of little Deorr standing by the lake.

Dee, do you think you might have posted the wrong link by accident?

I feel bad for the extended family this has to be an extremely crushing blow.

I feel bad for the extended family too, unless they have been enabling them. Hopefully not. Maybe it is an extended family member who started seeing things differently and gave previously withheld information to LE.

All of the polygraphs came back as inconclusive? Wow.

"They are being less than truthful," Bowerman said. "They know something, I just don't know what they know. It causes me alarm. I believe they know where he is absolutely."

The sheriff said the investigation began to turn in the second week of January after the FBI and behavior analysts turned over their findings. Detectives brought them in yet again for follow up interviews and they continued with their story, the sheriff says.

"I thought I'd give them another opportunity to tell us what happened, " he said. "I decided it was time the public knew what my concerns were -- I don't believe we have an abducted child."

I really think this may have been what happened...Didn't I read that "extended family" hired Klein in the first place? Also, I think drug use was involved somehow..Didn't Jessica have other children that she had lost custody of..there had to be a reason.

I'm sitting here in my office with tears in my eyes. That beautiful little boy. So many people would LOVE to have a little boy like Deorr. I cannot understand what brings parents to this point. There are so many options. I knew that they had been lying through their teeth from day one. Hell is too good for these people. God bless little Deorr. He is with his True Father now.
I'm 100% with you. I knew from their interviews, especially the second one, when JM wouldn't look up. And, YES... I too have fallen in love with DeOrr. I hope we can
give him a decent burial, he deserves that.

Yes she did, I was just thinking about that.

Does this mean that LE did not suspect the parents until the FBI came in? If so, how much evidence did they miss? Also, the sheriff sounds a little lenient. How many opportunities are you going to give people you think are guilty? It makes me think he thinks that either Deorr is still alive or died accidentally because I can't imagine a sheriff having that attitude if a little boy was torturted. "I thought I would give them another opportunity to tell us what happened"...Okay and if they had confessed, then what? He's making it sound like the whole thing would be forgiven if they just ~told the truth.

Bowerman says portions of polygraph tests administered to Kunz and Mitchell have come back inconclusive - including questions about knowing what happened to DeOrr, why the child disappeared and where the toddler is located.

"Their statements don't match, and it's frustrating because we have absolutely no idea where DeOrr is," Bowerman says. "There have been so many inconsistencies that it's hard to tell the truth from everything they've said." .....

Bowerman says polygraphs administered to Reinwand and Walton have been inconclusive, but those results were expected because of both men's mental states.

Bowerman and Lemhi County Chief Deputy Steve Penner were in Idaho Falls all weekend working with Bonneville County Sheriff detectives and FBI agents.

Bowerman says Kunz and Mitchell were interviewed along with Walton and Reinwand. Walton and Reinwand have not been cleared, but investigators are focusing on Kunz and Mitchell, Bowerman said.

ETA - I fixed link thanks nessaki!

This is what has bothered me all along, the ever changing story..the black truck..the lady who saw the bawling dirty or filthy baby that the father promptly denied being them? I was like wtf? Then there was some old man staring at Deorr. I always said, WHAT DID THEY Do in those woods? I figured they had been up to no good in the woods but did not really suspect they had something to do with Deorr missing..Now I am kinda in shock really.. It was sketchy, but Dang...where did they put the little guy? Did they point the finger at great grandpa all the whole time knowing they were the guilty ones? Just Messed up.

Their behavior post-disappearance is much more indictative of guilty parents....barely talking to the media, making up suspects to blame, etc.

This article says the investigation turned during the second week in January? Am I reading correctly that up until last week there were not any alarm bells going off that the stories these people were telling made absolutely no sense? From July 10-Jan 10 there must have been some sort of side investigation ongoing into the parents. I'm having a hard time with the idea that last week the investigators had some sort of revelation about the parents that the entire internet had on approx. July 11th.
