This article says the investigation turned during the second week in January? Am I reading correctly that up until last week there were not any alarm bells going off that the stories these people were telling made absolutely no sense? From July 10-Jan 10 there must have been some sort of side investigation ongoing into the parents. I'm having a hard time with the idea that last week the investigators had some sort of revelation about the parents that the entire internet had on approx. July 11th.

Yep...I really hope we are both reading that wrong! And apparently it was the FBI's investigation that made the local LE say "Oh maybe it was the parents!"

I know I need to go back and read but does anyone remember if the camping trip had been planned or was a "spur of the moment" thing? Just wondering if something happened to DeOrr at home and the trip was simply to dispose of the body? But I guess IR and GGP would have to have been in on it if that were true...and I guess the store clerk did actually see him with his father...so I'm just rambling I know. So sad but had my suspicions all along. Somebody needs to come clean now and tell what really happened!

Interesting comments by a purported family member appearing on here (obviously due to ToS I can't definitively say he is who he say he is, although I have no reason to doubt) https://www.facebook.com/EastIdahoNews/

Does this mean that LE did not suspect the parents until the FBI came in? If so, how much evidence did they miss? Also, the sheriff sounds a little lenient. How many opportunities are you going to give people you think are guilty? It makes me think he thinks that either Deorr is still alive or died accidentally because I can't imagine a sheriff having that attitude if a little boy was torturted. "I thought I would give them another opportunity to tell us what happened"...Okay and if they had confessed, then what? He's making it sound like the whole thing would be forgiven if they just ~told the truth.

IMO, what is he saying and how he is saying it speaks to possible future arrests and trial. He has to be very careful.

When Klein said a few days ago "the investigation is very fluid at this time", he wasn't kidding. Looks like he hasn't missed a step as well as LE!

[emoji174] and sad [emoji22] I felt this was the case from day dot but no glee from me from this outcome.

I knew they were involved........ What made it clear to me was they claimed deorr had been kidnapped, but gave like two interviews, they never begged or pleaded for their child's safe return.

Nothing about this case made any sense whatsoever.

I hope these 2 get nailed to the freakin' wall. :furious:

IMO, that's not the implication here. They have suspected them from the beginning, but they had to have certain evidence to name them suspects. IMO

What a contrast when compared to the Noah Chamberlin case. It's cases like this that make everyone a suspect. SMH...

All of the polygraphs came back as inconclusive? Wow.

I'm not really surprised. I believe the possible diminished capacity of GP and IR made them the perfect "witnesses" for a cover-up. For example (not saying this is what happened); DK and JM return from Leadore without Deorr, they ignore GP and head over to where IR is fishing in the creek and ask him to take them to the best fishing spot and tell him Deorr is staying behind with GP. 15 minutes later they tell IR they want to get Deorr and show him the minnows. They head back to the campsite and ask GP where Deorr is. GP has no idea, but DK and JM spin a tale and even suggest that maybe he took off looking for them and got lost. You now have "corroborating" witnesses that have been fed, without realizing it, what to tell LE.

http://www.eastidahonews.com/2016/0...ruthful-are-suspects-in-childs-disappearance/

Sheriff Lynn Bowerman tells EastIdahoNews.com the parents have changed their story “numerous times” about what happened during a family camping trip on July 10.

“Their timeline keeps changing, where they were at keeps changing, and movements and statements about DeOrr Jr. keep changing,” Bowerman says.

So I am guessing Deorr is not in the campground at all. Somewhere else entirely. You wouldnt let LE and all those people search someplace if you knew he was there right? So where would they have put him and why did they have to hide him in the first place? BTW I don't think he is alive, if he was then why go through all of this ?

Not surprised by this at all. Their story NEVER made any logical sense.

This leads me to think that perhaps the extended family knows what happened? Maybe they are covering for someone other than the parents? Maybe there was an accident while someone was supposed to be watching and both JM/DK and their families feel they need to protect? Complete speculation here, and of course as soon as we can talk about the parents as suspects I have to go and bring up something we cannot really go into.

I've always wondered if the look-alike boy in California was just to see the parents' reaction. "Hey, we think we've found your boy"

Kind of like "hey this millionaire wants you to hop in a limo to Toronto so he can help you".

I think he was killed before they even left to go camping. jmo

I just checked & you're right...I have 4 articles up with the 7 icon. I'll go correct ~ sorry & thank you.

No problem, Dee. It's easy to click on the wrong one, I do it all the time. :)

Or killed and disposed of on the way to or from Leadore early Friday afternoon.

One piece that stuck out to me transcribing was:

Klein: Well, what I have to say to the people out on social media are a few things. #1) Some of the people out there on social media have hindered this case. Uh, witnesses have come forward after and only after they received assurances that their identities would remain anonymous #1, and #2 that their information would remain anonymous. And so, you know, once we were able to give them that assurance, they were scared their names and their information would be splashed up on Facebook, um…and that has happened in some cases uh from leaks from family members to people that have nothing to do with this case that don’t even live in Idaho.

Who would be worried about information being splashed on Facebook if they came forward?

The older couple who were also camping on the mountain, IMO.
