One thing for sure. This case is so bizarre that I'm thinking to go back to investigative journalism. Freelance this time.

I don't know what this might mean in the overall timeline, but we have been assuming that the family drove to the campground from Idaho Falls that morning, which is a 2 1/2 hour drive to the campground. I have seen a few references to them living in Montpelier, ID. That would mean it was more like a 4 1/2 hour drive to the campground. http://www.ktvb.com/story/news/local/idaho/2015/07/11/missing-toddler-search/30022377/

Maybe they picked up ggp (and possibly friend) in Idaho Falls? Is that where he lives?

Someone mentioned in a previous thread that they thought the woman off camera asking about the emt bag was Jessica's mom or a family member. I never got that impression. I got the impression it was another reporter. Curious what made you think it was her mother? You can hear the urgency in her voice and it seems confrontational to me. They clearly do not want to talk about it.

Their family was present at the interview, it wasn't another reporter.

I noticed that mother's facebook has been deleted. (if I'm not allowed to say that let me know and I will delete it).
I just find that odd since she has been posting many different posters with his pictures and info on them. I have been checking it to see if there are updates and tonight it was gone.

I can't view it either. She probably made it private.

Hi everyone. I have been wracking my brain over this and reading and reading, and was about to give up and wait it out, until I heard GGPA's friends words. How odd.

Which brings me to this, Say the Dad could get the store clerk to change the time of her sighting, then she would be our verification that he was alive and well earlier in the day. I hope that's not going too far but I know something is nagging at all of us.

The store clerk was already interviewed by the police. If she changes her statement, it will certainly look very suspicious. I doubt a person who does not want to give an interview to the media, will put themselves in a situation that will cause further speculation and drama.

She said she was worried or afraid it would get twisted which only makes it all the more mysterious and likely (imo) to get twisted.

Possibly. Would depend on my mood, energy level, and how badly I might need something from the store.

What I'd like to know is what difference does it make if they drove back to the store? How does that figure into a nefarious plot?

Or is the point, that they did NOT drive to the store shortly after arriving, so the time offered by the dad is false. Which would make the store clerk's account true. Dad was in the store several hours later with a dirty, fussy little Deorr.

It will take more than a debate over whether or not a trip to the local convenience store is plausible to convince me that he's lying.

JMO

But wasn't DK at the campground with LE/SAR at 6 pm? I thought it was impossible for DeOrr and DeOrr to be at the store at 6 pm because there were other people at the campsite with the elder DeOrr at 6 pm. Now I'm confused.

I don't think JM's comment about something getting twisted was specifically about the EMT bag. It was about social media rumors in general. IMO

I would have days ago. Of course mine is already super duper private thanks in part to my super intrusive ex-employer!

But, no, really, as a bereaved mother of a victim of violence, I was criticized by random people for crying too much "hysterical, out of control, manipulative, obviously guilty of something" as well as not crying enough (cold, unfeeling, manipulative, obviously guilty of something).

For this poor mom, "why isn't she online? If that were my baby I'd be screaming from the rooftops" juxtaposed with "why is she on Facebook does she think her baby is just playing FarmVille in the woods? If that were my baby..."

You see how that works...

Everyone knows what they would do until it happens.

Read the quoted post.

That was a reply to my post, and examples of reasons why I might drive to a store in a similar situation.

Oops. My head is spinning. Thanks for the clarification. Would be kind of weird if they arrived for a family camping trip, but decided the first order of business was to drive back the way they came 40 minutes to chat up some locals. I thought the point of camping in the wilderness was to get away from other people! ;)

Going back to the EMT bag: Now that we know that GGP is in poor health it does not seem odd that a medical bag would be there. Jessica is trained as a nurse's aid, correct? So whether or not she is his caretaker on a regular basis, she would be trained to use its contents if necessary .

So the question that remains is why was it significant to mention it in regard to rumors in relation to social media? Especially when no one on WS has seen any of these SM rumors. --Unless the rumors were within the community itself and not on public SM sites.

I am intrigued by the mere mention of it in the interview along with what seemed to be deliberate ignoring of the question by mom and dad.

It got twisted already.

Really? I didn't read any criticism from people wondering why she is not online. It has been actually quite the opposite.

AFAIK there were people coming and going who showed up to help search. DK said it only took a few calls and they had 175 people up there searching. Were volunteer searchers' vehicles checked on the way out? Wasn't DK himself all over there searching? Was he using his truck to search or just the ATV? Or were JM and DK sitting down with SAR until "a quarter to 4"? And for those who think they meant 3:45 am the next day, would they really be 'with them' that entire time? Does that mean being interviewed by them or does that mean searching with them? And does DK really mean they were with SAR or does he mean LE? He mixed the two up previously when he said they called SAR but he was talking about the 911 call.

I've seen the criticism. There were also of posts about how many days had passed since the Find Deorr page was updated.

I thought it was her mom, because she kept looking over there and looked over there when she was talking about how grateful she was for the support, and her mom coming within hours of her call. I thought it seemed like JM was going to talk about it, but DK interrupted her. Did anyone else notice that JM kept checking her phone during the interview? Also, the smile at 4:20. Please take a look and tell me I'm crazy.

We need you to do that. We need good investigative journalists! They are in very short supply. Almost as rare as mountain lions in Idaho... Maybe rarer.

You've been here...it was here, too. Perhaps deleted now, but it wasn't just social media.

I might send my husband back to the store, but there's no way in he11 that I would get back in that truck with a 2 year old after driving 2 1/2 hours, 40 minutes of it on rocks. JMO.

Sometimes the back roads have the most beautiful views. Maybe they were happy to be out and about seeing a new area. Not necessarily ready to stay at the camp site, but to get out and view the amazing mountain ranges. It was early in the day. They'd never camped there before.

I've driven through this area. It's jaw dropping lovely.
