My grandson, now seven, has a stuffed bear who's name is White Bear. He goes EVERYWHERE we go and we/he never leaves home without it. Does he take it to school - no! Does he take it to the grocery store or shopping - usually no. Does he ALWAYS sleep with it - yes. Where is it during the day - on the bed. We would also say that he never goes anywhere without White Bear. If we've accidentally left White Bear someplace, we go out of our way to go get him. Hope that makes sense and clarifies what Little Deorr's parents were trying to explain about his blanket.

That's right, ILOKAL, my son used to have a Pound Puppy. He didn't take it to the store, or to daytime preschool, etc. But he slept with it, and he took it to overnight sleepovers with cousins, and he took it with him on any of our vacations or overnight trips out of town. Once we forgot it at a hotel when we were on the road. We called the hotel, and they mailed it to us. :) That was one travelin' puppy, lol.

I know, katydid23.... IMO, something's going terribly wrong with these searches. That little boy should have been found, they've been on his trail for several days, I just don't understand what went wrong. Seriously.

I guess the same could be said for little Deorr, except IMO they stopped searching too soon and haven't searched far enough out. It's just devastating, these poor babies.

I think there's a good chance that little Jerold drowned soon after he went missing. I'm not convinced the clues and shoe prints the searchers found belonged to the missing boy. It could have taken 5 days for his body to surface. I still think drowning is the most likely scenario for baby DeOrr. I know they've checked thoroughly, but his body could be trapped against rocks where the current is strongest. Kayakers have been trapped that way, in larger bodies of water, of course, but it's the same physics principal.

The other little boy, Jerold, was camping and found deceased near Lake Jacob. It doesn't mention him being found in a lake / body of water.

Did you play the video? The anchor says it ten seconds into the "breaking news" clip.

Hummm good question. Perhaps she was the only person that said ok to an interview?

Pretty crazy that she would agree to be interviewed and would expound on what a kidnapper (child predator) would or wouldn't do.

I'm gonna' say 2 in 100. Isn't the population of Leadore 100?

Yes. I remember looking way back when this first happened, she was the only one registered. Now there are two. So yes, double that number.

I've read that article as well as others and I'm not seeing that Little Jerold was found in a lake. Jacob Lake is an unincorporated area north of the north rim of the Grand Canyon. The family was camping about 12 miles south of the unincorporated area known as Jacob Lake. Perhaps you can cut and paste the information you are referring to about Jerold being found in a lake. TIA

To be fair, though, all four were named POIs due to proximity. I am not sure why they'd use that term rather than witnesses, but at the same time, the sheriff seemed to be very clear in saying that none of the four were suspects, and that includes IR.

No, I don't believe LE has made it clear that they think all four are totally innocent. Official naming of a suspect has legal significance. Naming someone a POI doesn't but it can be just as destructive to public perception.

Of course they were going to be investigated. The public isn't stupid and expects the four to be properly investigated.

If you watch the video, it is reported that he was found in a lake.

I'm not sure that is how PTSD works. Are you saying if he saw his grandson attacked by a mountain lion, he is suffering from some type of stress-induced amnesia?

No, I'm not saying that. PTSD often prevents the person's ability to re-live the trauma.

I think the news anchor misspoke. JMO.

But I have a problem with the timeline. IF someone took him around 2:20 pm, and the store was only 30 to 40 minutes away, why would the kidnapper wait around until 6 pm and then go in a public place so close to the kidnapping site? It doesn't make sense to me.

I'm at a loss as well, concerning the timeline, the circumstances, and the whole kit and caboodle. The strangeness of this case has yet to become any less strange. JMO :seeya:
