" Lemhi County Sheriff Lynn Bowerman believes missing Idaho Falls toddler DeOrr Kunz Jr. will be found, even though it’s been nearly six weeks since he disappeared.

Family -- “Those three have been very cooperative,” Bowerman said. “They’ve given us everything we ask for, and I feel real good about the parents and the grandfather.”

Friend -- “I’m not getting any feeling that he’s not being truthful,” Bowerman said. “He’s come up to the area on a second occasion with me, and I think he’s been very truthful and I appreciate his help.”

Sounds like he may be rattling some chains to me + he's not 100% sure DeOrr was at the campground, but he will be found. Will the friend be the key?

YUP. I think he is messing with someone's head.

So have they got a clue? Or not got a clue?

Interesting that he said the family friend was 'truthful.' I'd like to know if he has been consistent in his versions of where he was when the baby went missing. I don't believe he has been. And I don't have a lot of faith in what has been reported so far.

I too think there is a "message" in the sheriff's report. The sheriff didn't say what the 4th POI was truthful about, so we don't know what that means. I think there is something TO IR going to the area twice with the sheriff. The sheriff clearly seemed to separate IR from the other three in his report. JMO

I get the feeling that Isaac is not being fully cooperative, but when he has cooperated, the sheriff thinks he was truthful.

Right but since we can't sleuth the parents...50 yards and 10 minutes is all we got. Even within 30 minutes I think it would be hard to put the body somewhere that people could not find unless he left the camp site. Jmo

So let's say the 4th person was down near the creek when he saw the baby toddling around all alone. No parents in sight. Could he have scooped him up and taken off somewhere in that small window. During the next hour the family is searching before calling in searchers. then it is even longer while they await the arrival. Could the 4th person have had a couple of hours to hide/bury/dispose of the evidence?

Apparently, IR is "helping" the sheriff with his investigation. That "could" be quite telling.

I think GGF dozed off, as many do at his age. Anything could have happened to Deorr while he lay back snoring next to the peaceful babbling creek.

Ok...so the interview was a real let down. I don't know what to think.

July 10, but Bowerman said the group actually arrived late on Thursday, July 9. The next morning, DeOrr’s parents said they took their son to a store about 20 minutes from the campsite
“I don’t believe the store has a surveillance (system), but we have a receipt that shows they purchased certain items,” Bowerman said. “The time was stamped on the receipt, so we believe that’s where they went.”

Ok.. what time were they in the store and what time did they return to camp? We think we know per dad they never left the camp after 1pm. Did they go to the store at 11..buy french fries see a creepy man who made Jessica feel eerie and then get back to camp by one pm? Was it 10 am? What was the lag time between leaving camp, time stamped receipt and being back by 1 pm? Does it make a difference? i dunno.. JMO.

" I'm not getting any feeling that he's not being truthful"

Could that sentence have any more negatives in trying to relate a positive? LOL

Also that the sheriff said, "I don't believe the store has security cameras"? What? Doesn't he KNOW whether store has cameras or not?

Maybe the sheriff knows it doesn't matter about the cameras at the store. He has proof that Deorr was at the campground after the store visit.

I want to know if anyone left the campsite in a vehicle after the family returned from the store?

Besides the dad when he hauled down the road to get cell coverage.

I agree that edited version of the interview as certainly a let down. Hopefully there will be more once the unedited version of the interview is released.

That makes no sense. How is the child still alive unless he was abducted by a kindly childless fairy godmother?

ITA...he is talking out of both sides of his mouth. It's so strange. I also noticed that the sheriff neglected to say that they also stopped for diesel fuel...it was Deputy Penner that interrupted to tell the reporter that Kunz made another stop. Hmmm

What type of proof would this be? A witness other than the 4 adults? I'm confused....

No, I don't think so because he clearly states he is “99 percent sure” DeOrr was at the campground with his parents, DeOrr Kunz Sr. and Jessica Mitchell, great-grandfather, Robert Walton, and Isaac Reinwand, a friend of the grandfather, when the 2-year-old was last seen. If there was proof he would be 100% sure right?
