Pondering. The cremains tripped off the cadaver dogs. The scent dogs ... Would they have been thrown by it as well? They are two different scent skillsets, aren't they? Would be interesting to know if BOTH types of dogs were thrown off by the cremaims.

Really depends on the K9 and its training. They are two skill sets with some K9's being cross trained. My understanding is they had multiple K9's working. LE would have been informed of what their capabilities were at the get go for appropriate search management.

We don't know ggp's version of events. We just know what other family members have said ggp said. I'd really like to know ggp's unfiltered version of events.

I am so sad for the ggp. But the obvious problem is that if he does have any form of dementia (and it sounds like he does have diminished mental capacity) he might get very confused about simple things, including times and places. Was he playing with DeOrr by the campfire before going to the store or after, etc? Was IR with him or was he gone fishing? When was that? The whole time? Before or after the parents left? Even if ggp knew at the time, would he remember after? Remember now? It seems like people with dementia can be totally "on" about stuff one second, then totally "off" on something huge the next second. IMO.

trust me.. after 4 weeks in the elements.. there is nothing left to get eye color/fingerprints from. i guess you have never seen a decomposed body.. left in a home for a week in the August heat.. no face.. bugs. all body fluids have seeped out..Skin sloughs off.. and the odor would knock you out.. If they find his "remains" that is what they will find.. remains.. bones skin scraps etc.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_farm

No doubt, if he'd been out there since day 1 or day -1. That's why I would think cadaver dogs would have hit on a body sometime within the last month. Did they only go up there that one day and then not again? Apparently, a "tracking" dog, who follows a scent (not a cadaver dog) would not be thrown off by the cremains, so I'm guessing the dogs thrown off were cadaver dogs. I wonder how long an area stays contaminated after cremains have been dumped. Even without dogs, if people have been there searching on a daily basis, I'd think there would be bird activity that would point people in the right direction. JMO

I don't believe that is the campsite as far as we've determined (the pic in my last post shows the campsite) but this picture does show the end of the reservoir closest to their campsite and it appears to be where several searches parked. Now my question, would the woman with the cremains on the other side of the reservoir be able to see all of the vehicles? I think so.

DK said anyone on the other side of the reservoir could see down into their campsite. I would expect searchers to be on both sides of the reservoir even early in the search. JMO

They said they went 50 yards, so doubting truck. Maybe ATV.

I'm not placing any bets on time and distance estimates. Further away could explain why they didn't see him wandering around the campground. JMO

I have put in many hours searching for the rumor DeOrrs dad mentioned in the video of the black truck at the store with a filth DeOrr buying candy.. I have concerns about this..

I can not find any site, blog or post regarding anything about this siting - Has this siting been confirmed by LE? If not, WHO started this rumor, WHERE was it posted or brought up in social media PRIOR to dad mentioning it?

I just assumed it was a rumour going around town, like the rumours about his employer. Although I'm not sure exactly what those were about.

It would be interesting to know if he has dementia, alzheimers, etc.

If he was told Deorr was there would he really know for sure? Could he be convinced of things due to lack of memory?

The black truck in post #288 is a Ford Explorer Sport Trac, I think it's a first generation model.

I think that the black truck that it shows at the make shift camp site of DK & JM is a Dodge Ram

DK has let it be known that he is a Ford man. So I don't think the Dodge truck belongs to him. JMO. Is this the Dodge Truck?

Interesting point. Add to that, did anyone ever see anything on SM (or anywhere)within the first few day's of Deorr's disappearance that stated that Deorr's employer wouldn't give Deorr time off work to search? That "rumor" seemed so strange to me, especially since it was just a few days after little Deorr went missing.

Reporter: was anybody camping round you?

DeOrr Sr: that we don't know is...I come to find, I didn't know the area, and I didn't know, I ..there, it's very open but you can't see much ...there's a road that goes up and along the top - we're camped underneath the reservoir, basically right below it, and you can go up above the reservoir, and I didn't even know the road was, did that, I didn't know the road was up there, and as I travelled up there myself, I could've found out [?] I could see everything that was going on at the campsite, but you can't see out - you can't see up, you can't see round and if anyone comes to the bottom of your camp ground you can't even see they are...

Bbm

I think he means 172b as seen in the following map (yellow x on map) and picture. I believe it is where some of the searchers parked, and is where the creek leaves the reservoir and heads toward their campsite.

If you follow the regular 172 it goes to the other campsites and the other end of the reservoir where I believe the lady was 'dumping cremains' (blue x on map).

It is really difficult to accurately diagnose forms of dementia, as I am understanding going through a family thing. But that LE has said he was ruled out due to his mental health and physical health, I'm assuming he has some form that is significant enough that it could cause confusion and memory lapse.

If the parents weren't being truthful/accurate in the interview about their 10-15 min trip that had them no more than approx 50 yards away from the campground at any point, then we have an issue. We know that dad was off somewhere in his truck when he called 911 at (not sure, but roughly) 2:30 PM? He said a half-mile down the road. We have no idea where he was.

Question: Did the parents ever say when they arrived at the campground in a direct quote? It seems like they arrived Thurs night, according to PI and family. But, I think I remember hearing it was reported they said they arrived on Fri.

Here's another map flipped around so that it matches the picture where the searchers are parked by the reservoir.

Blue x = cremains (?)

Green x = campsite

Yellow x = searchers parked by reservoir

Yellow dots = 172b where Dad said you can look down at the reservoir/camp

Pink = shows how close it would be for little DeOrr to walk (chasing after his parents) to get to the main road that leads to the upper campground and the other side of the reservoir.

I don't think little Deorr can be found because he was never at that location. :(

My opinion only.

Do you mind giving your theory or reasons why? (Of course, as much as you can adhering to TOS?) The last thing I want to think is that the parents were involved in any way. But if he was never there, that's obviously "cover up central."

At around the 3:11 mark there is a quick glimpse of the rushing water going into the creek. I know that I saw a better video of it, I'll need to look a bit further.
