Sleeping arrangements were addressed on FB so I can't really comment within TOS but I'm not worried about that part. That said, even if they were setting up tents, there were 4 adults to help with either set up or childcare and tents can go up pretty easily, quickly. Our neighbors at the campground a few weeks ago rolled in around midnight and set up their tent using headlamps. If they arrived around 9:30, still enough light to set up. Or they could sleep in grandpa's camper. ;)

Or in the back of the Suburban. ;)

IMO camping can be alot like sailing.
If you have to trailer the boat then put the mast up it can be a pain in the butt.
If you are lucky enough to keep your sailboat @a marina, it's much easier.
I have zero idea about the camping gear the K's have. I don't do SM.
Depending on the age and expectations of said "campers", the equipment doesn't matter nearly as much as the entire experience. (that sounds like an inside joke on my part, sorry)
Waiting for more news.

IMO, it's not about attempting to make things fit. We have a little one missing, we have 4 people at a campsite, and we have dogs keeping us at that campsite. Those facts we ARE certain about.

Did the dogs keep coming back to the campsite? I'm trying to find a source for that and only find references to the dogs bee-lining it to the reservoir.

And to muddy the waters even more, we have the sheriff explain that the dogs alerts were because of the mysterious cremains someone tossed during the intensive 100+ man search. IIRC the dogs didn't hit at the campground which led to much debate. But I could be mis-remembering.

I think he said that they were back at the camp at 1:00 or at least that is how I interpreted it.
Right.. 1 pm starts the clock ticking imo. Did all 3 return to camp from the store?..When parents went exploring, were they together the whole time? Did they separate? Dad deorr sees minnows.. where is mom? Where is IR ( fishing and may have never seen the baby)

IR says in interview DID YOU TALK TO GRANDPA? hmm Does IR think there is something "off" and is looking for grandpa to confirm something? jmo "as far as i know he disappeared". IR may have never seen the baby...JMO

"The morning after they arrived at camp they went to the store"

"In the morning after they arrived at camp they went to the store"

A two letter word makes all the difference, it could be easy to mishear/misconstrue/mistype. Nonetheless it doesn't really matter but yet again there are pages and pages here going over and over the same unproven points.

Looking forward to some new info coming out, this old hat is threadbare.

I think some of us may be being too hard on ILOKAL. If he/she believes the arrival time was Friday, it doesn't really matter. I think we are getting picky/bored because we don't have much new info to discuss.

ILOKAL believes they arrived on Friday and that Deorr was most likely taken by a mountain lion. That's okay.

It really depends on your tent, some are way easier than others. Im not so sure there were 4 capable adults, cause it seems to me that a 2 yr old went missing in broad day light with 4 adults around and no tent setting up to distract. Just saying. But gpas camper would seem to be a good option, wonder how big it was and how many it could sleep.

I love my Coleman Instant Tent. :) It's just one piece and sets up in just a few minutes.

I have a statement for everyone to ponder and discuss. I'm just interested to see how you're take would be on it.

"Is a lack of evidence, evidence in itself?"

To me it IS. JMO

No. Imo lack of evidence simply means they don't have evidence to support or prove something at this time.

"Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence" is a logical fallacy known as Argument from Ignorance.

edit: stray word.

Thank you! I spent an hour looking for that.

yikes.. how did we ignore this little tidbit?

The search has been officially suspended. The sheriff said investigators from Bonneville and Bingham counties have offered assistance in further follow-up investigations into any possible criminal histories of those involved.

I fear that this PI is making things worse for the family. Everything is so "wishy washy" ......just give us the facts. How could the facts hurt this case?? It bothers me so much that the parents are quiet. In Boise, this hasn't been news for quite sometime
As a parent, I don't think I would ever stop doing interviews. If they think he was abducted, I would want his face on the news every single night. Trust me... we don't get a lot of big news stories here in Idaho so there is plenty of air time.

Also, my husband and son just returned from a 2 night backpacking trip (they were about 2 hours from Leodore) and I commented to both of them that they were "filthy" and to go right into the showers. It is dry and dusty here and they both had layers of dirt on them. I would expect a child to be dirty or filthy from camping .... tears and shot would make them look even worse.

This has been discussed ad nauseam. I don't think anyone ignored it. :)

I think it's really hard to use a negative to prove a positive, especially in court.

One more thing....

For our family tent, it takes about 15 min to set up and yes.... we can put it up in the dark and have several times. Our 2 man tent takes about 5 min. If we were to arrive mid-day, we would take our time picking the best spot to lay out the tent and to get everything set up properly. As toddlers, my kids loved to play in the tent. We would set that up quickly and then zip them in while we finished setting up camp. Not until camp is setup do we go explore.

I glamp in my RV but when my kids and grandkids come they set up their huge 3 room tent that takes at least an hour. Even if they sleep in the RV they set up that tent to hang out in and because the little ones love playing in it. It just seems it is quite a bit of work IMO. Maybe they just havent set it up enough yet to do it quicker since it was new last summer.

The reality is that whether the time/date was Thursday night or Friday morning should not even require a question mark. We are talking about a missing 2 year old child. The parents are under tremendous stress when they find their child missing. The responsibility for assuring the public has an accurate timeline falls upon LE. They do the initial investigating, they sort the wheat from the chaff, they work out the contradictory statements and information, they calmly determine the facts and THEN they share with the public what is necessary to safeguard the best interests of the child.

This disappearance began as a lost child, then moved to a potentially injured or deceased child and then to a possible abduction. The timeline is critical with a missing child. No one should have to guess at the facts. I find the process LE followed in the case to be lacking in many areas. The scene was not immediately secured, it does not appear that any investigation of the campsite was initially done, they failed to provide accurate information regarding the details of the disappearance and they never did release the names of all people who are still on the POI list.

As a result we have a missing poster with an incorrect eye color for Deorr, no vehicle information, a POI at the scene and unidentified for several days (allowing for the possible, non-monitored, transport of Deorr, a still unnamed POI who is considered fragile and yet is able to drive several hours to a campground, no official timeline and no official advisories from LE. :gaah:

ITA and that was sort of my original point. No one has brought forward a timeline. Not LE, not the parents, not the media. Doesn't mean that anyone was necessarily lying. Just means the facts haven't been made clear yet, by anyone. Which is only frustrating because there is a toddler missing.

I have permission from a mod (thank you, Bessie) to post this but this is all I can say:

I spoke to a reporter at East Idaho News today and was told that a "substantial" article about this case will be published tomorrow.
