I'd have this guy on a jury any and all times! Thoughtful and articulate. He clearly cared about the job he was given as a jurist.
and the woman alternate interviewed by Nate.
They are a credit to their town/ state etc

Does MBP currently have any custodial rights? I sure as hello hope not. If yes, how in the hello did she convince a judge to grant her those rights?
Court appointed psych evaluation must have been part of it. She was found to be a fit parent, found not to have previously abandoned her children.
50-50 custody granted for 2021 onwards according to Justin Lum who followed the BB and MP hearing back then.

However when Ian P testified in the LV hearing he did mention in passing that there was still some issues needing to be resolved but he didn't specify.

'Just since we're discussing this video of tire/seat transfer, I thought I'd mention...

When I was listening to Nate the other night he said it's possible or likely these storage videos weren't used as evidence in LVD's trial because it had been "enhanced" and enhanced video is not allowed by the court. Without enhancement it wasn't clear exactly who's who. If this is the case, I doubt the video evidence would be allowed in any upcoming AZ trial/s.
Yes I heard Nate say that but couldn't the AZ prosecutors hire an expert witness who could prove it's Chad based on those complicated digital techniques- sorry have forgotten the technical name for it now but body mapping & measurements within the interior. ( Chad is taller iirc)

( Same techniques they use on vehicle and facial feature identification in cases where they only have, for example, one grainy still CCTV image. Ofc in this case, state has access to clips showing a ton of visits by AC to compare with the one by Chad)

There was more than one visit by Chad to the Rexburg storage unit. He and Alex brought in the children's bikes. Also, Alex was out of town when the tire and the back seat were brought in. It was right after the failed attempt on BB.

Okay and so what do you think of the main point? ( probative and incriminating value as per CV related clips, when presented by a forensic expert)

Even with unenhanced video, IMO it could be implied that the second person on two visits was Chad (there was also a pat on Lori's backside). This could be important for his involvement in BB's case.

In the previous thread, Tammy is referred to as Lori's "romantic rival" in a quoted article. Not of major importance I suppose, but I for one take umbrage at it - Tammy was a true and loving wife, and was also a legally married respectable church member and citizen. She was not a "romantic rival" IMO. Rant over.

Agreed. Tammy didn't even know there was someone trying to be the next Mrs Daybell. And Lori didn't see her as a rival, but an 'obstacle', like her own children.

There was no rivalry. Tammy thought she was safe, happy, and loved, and probably lucky in her chosen partner and her family. I can only imagine how horrifying the betrayal she felt in those final moments was. (I truly believe Chad killed her himself.)

I think this Mormon Stories podcast, shared previously in a prior thread, offers significant anecdotal evidence to support the idea that Lori's choices were, in a way, simply just another chapter in the Cox family way of "doing business." It seems to be a lifestyle with a self serving approach to life, and a callousness toward whoever and whatever gets in the way of the family and their desires.

From what was revealed in this interview with a cousin, Lori's actions in this case seem fitting to family patterns, rather than an exception, and some of this is chilling to hear as it paints a picture of the family very likely taking out one of their own.

Paraphrased from prior notes by Nikynoo, with my own notes: This Mormon Stories interview is good background on the Cox family history and a little insight to Mormonism. It is very interesting and listenable. Well told. Features stories being shared by a cousin of Lori.

Interestingly, the cousin also gave some interesting background about the night that Stacey [Lori's sister and MBP's mom] was found in a diabetic coma. Not a zombie this time, but still a person who may have become a burden and needed to go?

This was in 1998. According to the interview [at about the 2:30 mark], this cousin Megan was there when Stacey was found in a coma at her parent's home, then admitted to hospital and subsequently a hospice. Alex is prominently part of the landscape. Angel of death? Stacey/Lori's father and family were called to tell them that Stacey was in a coma, and Lori and the rest of the Cox family were in Hawaii when this tragedy happened. (Sound familiar?) The family didn’t care to come back to see Stacey before she died.

Fantastic interview, and it took me a week to hear it all, but it shares so much relevant backstory.

The fact that the Cox family were 'inaccessible' in Hawaii while Alex lingered near Stacey and lured Megan to the scene for staging... wow.

If we already knew that, I missed that particular detail from the doc dump with all the Cope family history. I just remember Alex being pretty sus re: Stacey's death and I felt sorry for Melaniece.

Why take it to the storage unit? Why not leave it in one of the garages at the town homes?

This 4 hour interview is one of the very best additions to this entire saga. I have gone back to listen to a number of sections.

That part, where Lori was with her bofriend in a car, and he intentionally ran over a cat and killed it. And Lori just laughed and laughed.

And, the clarity of details over Stacey's death......... it is now crystal clear to me that this family, let alone Lori, knew what to do to "get away with murder".

The cousin even made a single half sentence about the death of the 3 month old child. She never came back to that, but it left, yet another possible evil thought in my head.

Had to giggle a bit. Back, when this part of the story came to light, we had pages and pages of posts asking this very question. In my recollections, we could never come up with any good answer to this question!

By that time Chad and Lori knew that Alex's attempt failed. There was a chance that he was seen by witnesses or BB himself. The Jeep parts in her garage could link Lori to the plot. Supposedly Alex put the seat and tire back the next day, but the Jeep was later seized in Rexburg after it was found abandoned. It's unknown if the Jeep was used again after Alex's return.

Is there a private group on this case? I haven't seen one but there is plenty to discuss

I actually think Tammy was aware of Chad's affair. But she really didn't know what to do about it. So, she ignored it. She had her own life of work, family, church, running, clogging, it seems like she was living almost a completely separate life from CD. She just let him go on his trips, write his books.

I don't think she thought he would divorce her. And I doubt it even crossed her mind that she was in danger. Although, the focus he had on her life insurance would have been personally disturbing to me.

Appreciate that body language analysis isn't proven & isn't science but here's Maricopa Co Attorney answering Justin Lum's question on whether LV is likely to be the only person indicted, around the 1 minute mark
