Just my two cents this morning...

I'd be surprised if the prosecutors can convict either LVD or CD of murder. I hope they really throw the book at both of them for every 'accessory' charge - perjury, tampering, whatever - because I think that's all they are going to get.

I don't believe LVD's brother or TD died a natural death, but because of different jurisdictions and LVD's constant moving around and inexplicable police laxity (no autopsies for either LVD's brother or TD? Seriously?), it's going to be impossible to prove otherwise unless possibly TD's autopsy revealed something.
I doubt that's the case, because if something had been revealed in the autopsy, it seems certain that CD would have been charged with her death by now.

IMHO, the only potential surprise left is whether or not LVD and CD stick together. If neither caves, I think they are off the hook for the deaths. I think LVD is arguably mentally ill, but that doesn't mean she doesn't either 1) really believe her own stories or 2) is a master manipulator who can stick to a lie.

From the phone call during the search of CD's property, it sounds like LVD is more confident right now than CD is - perhaps because she's already been locked up for a little while or perhaps because she's been lying her way through situations for years now. CD's got two choices: stick with LVD and hope for the best or come clean and throw himself on the mercy of the court. Both alternatives are risky.

I wonder what folks who share their particular set of beliefs are saying now that the 'end times' don't seem to have arrived on schedule.

I think if nothing else, they can be convicted on conspiracy to murder. Which is basically the same as murder. Don't forget, we haven't seen any of the results of the phones LVD could have been tracked on. Not to mention texts, emails, witnesses. The FBI wouldn't have stuck around Rexburg for weeks with that mobile lab for no good reason. Jmo

Given how many cults have predicted and prepared for Doomsday, only to witness it become just another mundane day o' the week, I'm surprised someone hasn't written a self-help book about how to cope with the disappointment. Maybe the Chadster could cash in on that from his perch in Cell Block F.

Either they haven't found the smoking gun yet or they did and it takes more time to process the rest of the evidence. Or perhaps this case is bigger than we thought.

I think your last possibility is worth some thought. Are there unexplained deaths or disappearances in the fringes of Mormon culture that could be related to the five under consideration here?

A neighbor of Joseph Ryan called the leasing office and then 911 that evening. He said his dog started scratching at Ryan’s door before he walked over and smelled a strong odor from the home. It’s unclear how long Ryan was dead. #fox10phoenix

Lori Vallow was listed as next of kin. Ten days after finding Ryan’s body, police contacted Vallow who said she had not heard from him in 2 years. She told the officer they shared a 15yo daughter (Tylee Ryan). Remember - for about 2 years, Vallow lived in Kauai. #fox10phoenix

Winter, Covid, probably made them hold off on exhuming the bodies until June. And probably lulled CD into a bliss state, thinking that LEO had no clue where Tylee and JJ were located.

It's possible, but on the other hand, if they knew that and purposely waited, there was always the possibilty of CD vanishing or hiding somewhere, perhaps another country so when they got the info, it was time to move in and grab him. I'd guess that if YNP was part of the plan to dispose of the kids, they would have had to do both kids at the same time. Maybe their plans got thwarted somehow with lots of people around and had to go to a plan B. Just a guess.
