I'm trying to find the reference but can't find it yet... I read in one of the recent documents released by the Gilbert Police that Alex moved in with Zulema before Thanksgiving. If the son was also living there that means they were living in the same house for at least 2 weeks. Not knowing the name of one of the 3 people living in your house is outside the bounds of my experience. I get your point (and longtimereader and indicolite22's responses, thank you all) but to me it points to how strange these people's lives are compared to what I consider normal.

Then again, given that the scale here goes from zero to murdering your own children I guess this is close to zero.

It is my understanding after the shooting that he didn’t chase Brandon. It is my understanding he was in the back of the jeep and then the jeep sped off. How could the reports be so different? I think we can accept Brandon’s statement though. He was there.

From the police body cam discussion Brandon's car was facing the same direction as the parked Jeep. When Brandon figured out what was happening (which is when I would have expected another shot to be fired) he says he sped away. He said the Jeep chased him briefly before turning. My guess is the Jeep was speeding away in the same direction because it was parked facing that way, which is why Brandon initially felt he was being chased. Just a guess.

I know we've spoken/joked/laughed about this 9 billion times, but this but this still perplexes me. He practices 4+ hours away and she's not there. He's already been on record stating how restrictive even working within the confines are. Maybe one day we'll find out what he's doing there.

INSIDE ALEX COX'S FORD F-150: On 12/23/19, about eleven days after Lori Vallow's brother Alex died in his wife's Gilbert home - police officers served a search warrant on his Ford truck.
This truck was key evidence in the disappearance of JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan. It had been used for Alex, Lori and the kids to travel to Yellowstone Park on 9/8/19 - the day Tylee was last seen in public.
Police found these items listed below inside the truck's middle console. A patriarch letter from Chad Daybell to Alex, one bag of orange molded foam ear plugs and one snap caps 223 Remington training bullet (stock photo below).

And they all lie about everything so one really must ignore everything they say. Especially when it is so far fetched and casual. So 50/50 chance everyone in their contact web were involved in some way. JMO

Here's my theory: Alex may have not have known whether or not he hit Brandon. He wasn't sure. That's why Lori looks for a news story later. That's also why when the police interview MBP she ends the interview by asking if Brandon is ok. She asks because it was a pressing question on the minds of the murderers. Had they hit their target?

I've always imagined he found his money source at the jail for other clients maybe? Only basis is his behavior via twitter and in court, and articles with professional views but mostly via @SleuthD-o-doubleg. He could have just fallen in love with her, had nowhere to go, was paid to handle a case he had no idea how to handle, like others but there's a buck somewhere daily being made there possibly. Maybe he's a chosen public defender being paid? Anyone know? Thanks SD, I appreciate you updating.

Thank you DI_Isokawa for coming back to this issue. I was looking for your excellent analysis of the attempted shooting of Brandon based on the publicly available police reports months ago. I feel like there are big discrepancies between the previously released reports and the newly public body cam footage of the first officer on the scene released this week. Hoping to have specific questions when I can figure out how to compare the 2 accounts.

I didn't mean to make any statement about Chad's actual relationship with the church, I was pointing out that Means is trying to quash (I must have been hungry when I wrote that post because I wrote squash) the evidence of Chad being excommunicated. I postulated Means defense strategy, if he has one, is likely to be that Chad is a good guy so that evidence would be damaging to his defense. MOO
