I doubt Chad is a cult leader in the sense that the readers of his books are now lost and waiting somewhere for his further instructions. Or that the people to whom he explained his visions on the paid online forums can't function without his advice. It would still be interesting to know what his (once) supporters think of the whole saga now.

I keep writing and deleting because it’s by word of mouth, but being local, I have heard from multiple sources, about followers exhibiting similar behavior as LV and MB, ditching kids, getting crazy beliefs, and most alarming, an exodus to Rexburg/ and a “possible hideout in st. Anthony.” All I can do is encourage the sources to go to MSM, requesting a deeper dig there. I myself have messaged East Idaho news asking for a story. I am sure they’ve had other tips and suggestions. My hope is that they find one of these people, and convince them to interview, if someone has some new info on WHY, or on Chad, it might help us find the kids.

I can't decide if his reaction is voluntary or not. In a way the expression says: "Why are you asking ME?" IMO they both found a way to detach themselves from their deeds.

No, there's not a source! I just got the cost wrong! I even looked over the forum and there it was, 2500 bucks. It was my own mistake not anyone elses.

St. Anthony is just a bit further north than Rexburg, a lot smaller, and I think it’s closer to the Daybell’s home.

Umm.. I get what you're saying, but it's probably not a good idea, even in theory, to coorelate the motives of alleged doomsday Mormons with those of WW2 parents. I get you're feel, desperate parents do weird ****. But there has to be a better way to make this point.

It’s actually a great way to explain it because without thinking about circumstances in which a normal person might do this, it’s hard to get inside the head of doomsdayers.

That said, I unfortunately suspect the boy in particular is not actually alive.

That sounds like it’s worth a call to the fbi or police I tried to find the number for fbi tips with this specific case but I couldn’t find anything. Someone may have it though. JMO.

Do we have any information that Chad's "cult" involved more people than Lori, her brother, her niece and their partners? People whom Lori could trust with her children? Was Chad close with any of his supporters?

Every Friday for the past few weeks I wake up hoping it is the day we hear about arrest(s) in this case. For some reason I don't expect it today. I think they will wait until after the Feb 10th deadline for Dept of Welfare to report back to the court. Unless Tammy's autopsy comes back. Then we could see some movement on that. I've got to be away from my computer today so that probably means everything will happen while I'm gone, LOL.

Nate and Eric have been pretty quiet the last couple days and it seems like Kim might still be in Hawaii as of 7 hours ago. Could Nate be making another trip to Kauai? I’m not sure how much can be discussed here but we’re allowed to privately research the groups they’re affiated with. It makes for interesting, down the rabbit hole type reading MOO

Okay, here is why this comparison is not only problematic, but kinda wrong.

Its not that I don't get the comparison. I do. And I think it was made in good faith. I stated that multiple times. But... It's really not that accurate.

Doomsday cults kill or hide their kids because of an imagined threat, because cults. The parents who sent their kids away from the Nazis did so because of a real and present danger. The reason the arguments don't align is because it artificially coflates the feeling of cult parents who have irrational motives, with those of perfectly sane parents, who have absolutely rational motives.

This whole video completely changed my opinion of Chad. I initially was giving him the benefit of the doubt. I don't anymore.

I still doubt that there's enough personal connection between the group members and Chad to turn them into accomplices. Surely there would be some sign of communication detected by the police. IMO while Chad is away, the groups are doing their own thing.
