It is a piece of paper signed by your Bishop and Stake President (clergy) that you live the LDS Church standards. Just a few questions in an interview. To attend the Temple you need to have a Temple Recommend. I am just wondering if that could be used to know where they have been in the times Lori was unaccounted for MOO

I'm just shocked if their temple recommends are valid. Jmo.

I think they're good for at least a year at a shot. Definitely not less. (No doubt there are ways to invalidate them, but we have no reason to think that would have been done recently.) So I suspect Chad's in good shape. In fact I would be amazed if he wasn't. Lori is another story. I can't claim to have a good feel for how well she at least went through the motions of pretending belief, church attendance, tithing payment, etc. I don't think we can rule it out, but I wouldn't argue that it is a given either. There are ways to get a forged temple recommend and, if I cared to do such a thing, the person I'd talk to in an attempt to do so would have been in Lori's neighborhood for part of this adventure, but I doubt that's what happened.

Just a thought... so what if CD and LV were married in the Temple in Rexburg ID (if they both had their temple recommends) this is possible and no witnesses needed they have them present... MOO just a thought ...

Maybe someone else will chime in, but I believe that in order to be married in the temple you're still required to have a wedding license and that would have shown up in the searches some have done of Idaho public records.

I agree but does it need to be from Idaho... I am actually asking someone who works at the Temple to make sure...

  • #486
Exactly.

Or tossing that head of hair (ok I'm jealous of her hair) and grinning at LE when Charles was laying across the street, dead.

Inappropriate reactions.

Jmo.
FWIW, I suspect LVD has hair extensions. They are really popular in the ID, UT, AZ corridor, and tend (to my eye) to look unnaturally long. If not, she really has amazingly great hair for a woman of her age!

Okay you have to have a license (Idaho) to be married in the Temple... so much for my scenario...

Yes. It is a legal marriage that is performed, so everything about legally marrying (wherever it takes place) applies.

Marriage

From that page...

"You should know:

You do not need to be a resident of Idaho to obtain an Idaho marriage license, however an Idaho State marriage license is only valid for ceremonies performed within the State of Idaho.

There is no waiting period before using the license; you may get married the same day."

It doesn't say that a license from another state isn't valid if you marry in Idaho, but I think the same rule would apply as using an Idaho license in another state.

If they were cultists, eliminating the spouses who were outside of the cult (and collecting life insurance in the process) might have been the goal. Alex's and Melani's quick marriages do show some sign of cultish behavior, especially knowing that Melani (according to Brandon) bought into Lori's crazy ideas.
My own opinion:

A religious-belief-driven conspiracy by 4 or 6 people to quickly acquire as much cash as possible in preparation for what they believe will be the end times (beginning in late July '20).

They believe they have been chosen to lead, instructed to act, and are immune to the consequences of their actions in the here and now.

Temple recommends are valid 2 yrs. I am not saying they were married there because we would have probably figured that part out. I am wondering if they and the others were there doing whatever and making it fit into their own visions and interpretations. To me it kinda would fit our bizarre case we have going. They think they are so enlightened with religion/God/end of times, we know they were not in a hideout in Island Park eating wheat and lentils from food storage. MOO

When you look up the cases. MB is not listed as relative of LV nor vice versa. Is this normal?

My family loves funeral potatoes, so I wouldn't want them to lose the chance to eat some. :)

You're right though, the quick marriage (or claim to have married since we can't really prove they are legally married and there is some reason to think that might be questionable) is where things get a tad unexplainable.
Excuse my ignorance, but what are funeral potatoes?

Who in the world knows. But I am pretty sure that MB didn't move to Idaho to go to school before Lori did. Basically, it would appear Lori would tell different things to different people. She was reportedly telling people she was moving because she herself got a job. To her neighbor in Rexburg she reportedly said she moved there to attend school. And never mind all the stories she told about how Charles died.
To her own son Colby she reportedly told Charles died of a heart attack (per Colby himself). To JJ's school she reportedly said Charles killed himself. To Charles' children were who asking what happened, she told they had to wait for medical examiner.
She should just pick one story and stick to it.

Well, one thing we can guarantee is, as if her frequent marriages weren't enough of a sign, Lori isn't very brave and she doesn't have very much stick-to-it-iveness.

I mean, I can understand not wanting to text Charles's kids "well, hey, actually my brother shot Charles in cold blood, I mean self-defense, but it was a mistake, oopsie, sorry!"; but if you're gonna engineer it, I feel pretty sternly you've gotta own it, and not say "Eh, it's up to the ME!"

I'm also side-eyeing the CPD really hard again, as why was Lori so confident that the determination was going to be "self-defense"? That, coupled with Officer Crime-Scene-Cleaner, a good DA should be able to make a sturdy batch of vodka lemonade with, MOO, IMO.

PS: When it comes to Officer C-S-C, I do think it's possible there's a benign interpretation to his actions; namely, that someone else has told him it is unlikely to be named a crime scene. I'm not implying that the person making the judgment call was doing anything untoward; just that maybe it happened, because otherwise I'm at a loss as to why the officer would write about cleaning up blood spatter in his report.

Please help me understand.
This whole kill the kids before the end? Ive heard and I am not positive but the 144,000 chosen people God saves in the end, If they aren't amomg the 144,000 saved when the end comes does that mean they go to hell? So the people that die before the end, are they automatically saved or is it only 144,000 period dead or living when the end comes?
Bear with me here bc I do not know anything about their religion. (Except this 144k idea) But If the kids are not among the 144,000 chosen by God at the end of the world would they be already admitted to heaven if they died before the end of the world?

Somebody help me make sense of this 144,000 thing, please. Because if that is the case, is it possible they thought they were getting them to heaven before there was a possibility they would not be the chosen ones, among the 144k or, do I have this all wrong?

IMO, looking into this won't help you reach a definitive answer and will just be a rabbit hole; because lots of people believe lots of different things. I think I'll let someone else explain the different points of view, important parts BBM:

BBC - Religions - Christianity: End Times

The Rapture is the event in which Christ carries the faithful believers off to heaven before the Tribulation.

This word refers to a "taking up" of Christians, both alive and dead, at the return of Christ. The idea is based on 1 Thessalonians 4.17, which speaks of Christians who are alive being "caught up in the air" at Christ's return. Rapture derives from Latin for "to seize" (rapere, also the root for raptor, a bird of prey).

During the Millennium the believers will remain in heaven, and God will be working on earth with the people of Israel.

Some Christians believe in the rapture, but disagree about the timing. Some think the rapture will occur at the end of the tribulation period and others believe it will occur in the middle.

Many Evangelical Christians, including the Brethren, follow John Nelson Darby in believing that the rapture will happen before the great tribulation, sparing Christians from a terrible experience.

Other Christians believe that the Rapture will occur during the Great Tribulation, or after it, while yet other Christians don't believe it will happen at all.

Darby
Darby added a new element to millennial beliefs when he said that Christ's second coming would come in three parts:

  • the Rapture
  • the Great Tribulation - when the antichrist will rule the earth, and the Jews will be converted and do God's work. This is expected to be a terrifying time for those who remain on earth.
  • the Second Coming - when Christ will return with the saints to crush the antichrist and rule the earth for 1000 years.
What's crazy is, that Tammy had absolutely no clue as to what was up with the Real Chad Daybell. Didn't know about his new gf offing her husband, ditching her special needs child's dog... then ditching her own kids. In preparation for Chad to ditch her.

Nothing about it is rational behavior of a caring mother.

Her eldest is crying out to her even.

It doesn't bode well for a child without health problems let alone ASD 7yr old!

ETA

The State or Fed can file child abandonment against her soon too.

BBM-I agree. Lori’s treatment of CR makes it difficult if not impossible to cast her in a positive parenting light. It’s one thing to put the entire country through this ordeal, but to not even clue in her own son as to whether or not his siblings are ok? Not to mention all of her other behaviors (too long to list). It’s beyond all reason.

Yes, I'm with you, as this certainly seems to belie that Lori has any true motherly feelings.

Though a grown man, her son is now currently, basically, an orphan for all intents and purposes; and with a new baby of his own in the bargain, in which she apparently has no interest. Lori doesn't think he could need her either? Or feel any compunction herself about being without him?

AFAIK he's been "hers" since he was born. Having all of her support removed, is doubtless a bitter pill to swallow for a young man.

One of Chad's authors predicted an earlier end time a few years ago, (Also expecting a huge SLC earthquake similar to Chad) and it's said lots and lots of people sold their homes in preparation. This, just before home prices skyrocketed. OOPS
I'm pretty sure the earthquake Chad believes in is the same one his Author friend predicted back in about 2015,6(don't remember which, but it would be on LDSfreedomforum threads), it just never happened. I don't know if 'lots and lots of people' sold homes in preparation. I remember that she had people who believed her who I read were taking the pictures off the walls of their homes and moving heavy furniture for fear that the earthquake was going to hit about 4:00 am in the spring (she said the grass was green and there was snow), but truthfully, her influence wasn't that big. I live in Salt Lake and I only knew a couple of people I could talk about her nuttiness with, most people had no clue who she was, and she was even on the radio for interviews several times. MOO

Frequent templer miles. Get enough and you get a free pass to heaven. :) (Is there an official acronym for "I made this up"?)

I thought that video was obviously wrong in so many places that I wasn't buying it at all. But if OhMeOhMy is thinking it is credible, I may have to rethink my thoughts.
I must have missed this video being discussed. I'll have to look back on thread.

Not sure if i would say credible because like you is I thought it sounded odd and was laughing at parts ...but it had names and connections we had covered over and over with connections to AVOW and PAP . To tell you the truth I have know idea where we are going with this whole case and basically think anything we find we get to throw against a wall and see if it sticks...The interesting part is that some of the weirdest things and we couldnt make up ourselves keep coming out in this case. MOO

This may sound like a quick judgment on my part, but in the videos I've seen of Lori, she is not wearing garments, which are something that members who attend the temple (except those who perform proxy baptisms) wear under their everyday clothing, she would not be able to wear tank tops. I've been assuming that she has not been to the temple, but have never heard either way. I don't think I've ever read that any of her marriages were sealed in the temple. Maybe others know?
