Sorry if it has been posted or reported already. l could not find it. Do we know the exact pinpoint location of the attack?

If I can find out the exact spot where attacked happened I will take drive over there to see if I can find the cameras or lack of cameras and the exit points where cameras can be located.

It will be easy to deduct from cameras that are close to the area. They will show both the victim and assaliants leaving the areas not covered by missing cameras (area of 60 second gap) I'm sure assaliants didn't escape on a helicopter. There has to be a point where cameras will show both parties leaving, not just the victim.

I will also try to locate the park bench. I'm not located in the
City but about 30 miles away. Anyone live close to the alledge crime scene?

'Empire' actor attacked in possible hate crime in Chicago: police

The attack occurred in the 300 block of E. North Water Street. It's not clear to me if this is where the street becomes Lower E. North Water Street if you know what I mean, or if it is in the upper level. For anyone not familiar with this part of Chicago, there are many streets underground, and under upper levels. Part of this street is like that. It can be a bit confusing with streets having an upper and a lower version.

I can't figure out where the bench is. Maybe closer to the Subway?

I'm disgusted by people saying folks are only suspicious because of race, him being gay, etc. I like to SLEUTH and look for holes in stories, just like any other story. I'm just trying to figure out the logistics of this mess.

Exactly. I was just as interested in the Sherri Papini "kidnapping." She's a heterosexual white woman with blonde hair and (I think) blue eyes. My interest level in both of these cases is exactly the same.

Scroll down and they will show a picture of the crime area. And it states the address is 300 E. Lower North Water St.
So article says outside of the building he lives in on the street between 2 buildings. If this is the location it is very hard to believe that between 2 upscale buildings there are no cameras.

They could crack this case wide open if only they would search every Cabelas and Bass Pro Shop to see who sells that particular style of special thick gray hunting socks and review reciepts of people buying them!

I wonder why the attackers didn't at least steal his sandwich.

I'm not buying what that neighbor is selling. No way she saw their socks enough to say they were grey "hunting" socks, if that's even a thing. Remember they are standing in front of Jussie's apartment building, that same building with surveillance cameras, that saw Jussie entering the building with his phone and sub as he walked right past the security guards.

Let's not forget, the neighbor also saw the rope.

I am so amazed that Mr. Smollett not only survived this attack, but made it home with his Subway sandwich intact. His survival skills are phenomenal.

I hope that Chicago PD focuses all of their resources on finding these attackers! Hate crime should not be tolerated.

There has been so many instances of victims doing just what Jussie did. Him not telling every person he passed by no means says he was not assaulted.
I agree. Being assaulted can cause shock and everyone reacts differently. He may have been in a daze. Mr. Sollett is the victim. Once named a victim it is not debatable on WS. TOS is very strict about addressing the victim with any negative connotation.

Did you see the spagetti picture? It froze in a minute! The guy who had the frozen spaghetti said that within a minute his eyelashes were frozen. That's what subzero temps look like and I don't want to experience it! The entire city was a sparkling silver in one of the pics. Multiple people have died from the cold.
And just imagine sitting on a bench with bleach and a rope waiting to assault someone!

The racist slur uttering neighbor claims that she saw 2 men in sweatshirts, socks, and short jeans with a noose waiting outside the building for an hour and a half. In subzero weather. I think we can safely say she is quite mistaken. The victim said that they were bundled up with ski masks protecting their faces. Which is logical. The picture released by the police showed heavily bundled persons. The cold in Chicago has taken 8 human lives and one zebra. There is no way the neighbor could be right. They would have died in that hour and half.

Crime watchdog group for Boystown (LBGTQ community) and Wrigleyville neighborhood has newest reported information regarding investigation of crime and threatening letter sent to victim.

CWB Chicago: Smollett case update: "Threat letter" mailed from SW suburbs; "persons of interest" pix released to appease "downtown"; more

The threatening letter was mailed from the SW Chicago suburbs and reportedly contained Tylenol. The FBI are quietly investigating.

The two potential persons of interest are reportedly "two bums". The photo of the "two bums" was released at the demand of the Superintendent of Chicago PD offices downtown.

The phone records for the victim and his manager have been supoenaed.

The police have dismissed the claims of the woman who saw two "rednecks".

Against the victims lawyer's wishes, he clarified at his concert that he had bruised ribs not broken. Went to the hospital, but was never hospitalized. The victim failed to make those clarifications in an earlier list of clarifications released to TMZ.

If it is true that the 2 men were used in this way, it is truly despicable. Especially if they are homeless. I can't imagine being homeless in that weather.

On another note, various outlets have pointed out that there is about a 60 second window between where Jussie appears on surveillance footage - at one point without the noose, next shot with the noose. More Strange Details in the Jussie Smollett Case | National Review

I am no rope expert but it takes a minute or two to tie a noose I would guess. So again, the perps had to have targeted Jussie and perhaps lied in wait. I've said it before but I find this extremely curious given the extreme weather conditions, and the greater likelihood (since so few people were out) that they would be discovered. We've mentioned how this part of Chicago has many upper/lower streets. The lower levels would provide some cover from the cold I would guess. So I would suspect that while waiting for Jussie, the perps sought shelter there. There are no doubt cameras everywhere in the lower levels, so if they are there, CPD will find them. Perhaps they already have. I'll be looking for Mr. Guglielmi to tweet today. All just MOO of course. Anthony Guglielmi (@AJGuglielmi) | Twitter

There has been very little if anything said by CPD lately. Looks like they want this thing to die down and go away. Out of sight out of mind.

Both are interesting articles. The alleged use of the homeless people as people of interest is insane. I'm glad, although it should have been obvious in the first place that the neighbor "redneck" sighting has been dismissed.
