I'm curious about the 48 hours the brothers were in custody, and apparently why it was only at the 47th hour that the truth about what happened came out. I'm curious when the brothers retained the services of Gloria Schmidt, and if she is an appointed attorney or one they hired. I guess I am wondering what they knew of Jussie's plans and motivation, and how forthcoming they were with the police when they were first brought in. I am not quite sure what to think of these guys until I know more of the details.

Jussie Smollett’s salary would of been in line with what a “star” he was.

Terrence Howard & Taraji P Henson are house hold names. Henson also had just come away from Person of Interest which was huge at the time.

Jussie Smollett’s biggest role was in 1993’s Mighty Ducks and maybe he was difficult back then as he didn’t go on to Star in Mighty Ducks 2/3. He was a nobody when cast on Empire hence his made up story when he claimed “ They shouted “Empire” at him. He wanted people to know who he was but the truth was vastly different.

It could be nothing more than thinking that if the world saw him as a victim, he would be elevated to stardom and his career would soar. On the surface, that's what it appears to be.

p.s. it was so telling in his interview when he mentioned "Do you think I was play fighting?" At a time no one even thought he hired two brothers. We thought they were homeless guys and nothing was caught on video like he had hoped..

That was certainly his Ace Card! Anyone who questioned him was immediately thrown under the umbrella of "racist and homophobic." He had it all figured out, except for under-estimating the investigators.

At the press conference, Detective Edward Wodnicki credited the city's pod camera system in tracking the Nigerian brothers initially after the crime. The cameras pretty much showed their every movement, and led to them being identified. Those cameras are a key resource! The "eye in the sky" will nail you.
