Uche: "Is it a thing where Ola has hatred towards Jussie because he’s gay and Bola, the younger brother, is trying to prove to his older brother ‘I’m not gay so I’m going to (attack Smollett)?' I don't know."

Or could it be that Bola "was pretending to be Jussie's friend and pretending to be gay, masturbating with Jussie in a bathhouse? I really don’t know," Uche says.

There is no proof that the $3500 was actually for a hoax except for the brothers' testimony, Uche says. "(Bola) says 'yes this check was given to me for payment for the nutrition plan … and I thought in my brain it was also for the hoax.' What are you talking about?"

Ola testified to a grand jury that he believes the check was for the training and nutrition plan, Uche points out

"It's not unusual" for Smollett to pay $3500 to people for services - it's the same rate he paid a previous trainer and what he paid his publicist Pamela Sharp, who testified last week. Uche: "Is Pam Sharp planning a hoax with Mr. Smollett? Ridiculous."

Uche describes the brothers' trip from Nigeria back to the U.S. as a "hot flight," "potentially smuggling illegal substances into the United States."

Smollett wasn't hiding anything from police, he just had privacy concerns about turning over his phone, Uche says. "They use these terms and literally the frontal lobe of the brain is getting to work - you keep hearing 'hiding hiding hiding hiding' - he wasn’t hiding anything."

Northwestern doctors did take Smollett's injuries seriously enough to order scans and X-Rays, Uche points out.

The so-called "dry run" was merely Smollett driving around smoking weed, he says. "He’s a pothead, I’m sorry, he’s no longer one … (it was) the pressures of being an entertainer. That’s just the way it is, it sucks."

Uche: "He’s always driving around his house smoking weed … processing his music, he’s an entertainer."

If he isn’t found guilty there is simply no justice imo.

His story is simply laughable and I actually liked him before it. I have met him before in London when he was promoting Empire and he was lovely and I remember him from The Mighty Ducks when I was a kid. But unfortunately it seems like fame and hatred of Trump ( I can understand that to a extent) lead him to here and he does need punishment so nobody else tries the same thing.

Uche calls it "nonsense" that police would have needed Smollett's DNA to test the rope, and besides, he eventually turned over his DNA to the FBI. "He wasn't hiding anything," Uche says.

A security guard also told police he saw an apparently white person in a ski mask running from the scene, Uche points out. "They want you to believe that two individuals who don’t know each other are having an optical illusion."

"They cannot even prove to you beyond a reasonable doubt that there’s a polar vortex," Uche says. There were multiple people in the Subway that night, he says, implying that it couldn't have been so cold that they all kept away. “Maybe they were in on the hoax too," he jokes.

"The videos you see of the brothers walking around, those are patched up videos, there’s a lot of missing data, you don’t have the whole video, you don’t know who they’re talking to," Uche says.

"Uche saying that an educated guy like Bola would not have agreed to a hoax attack, and would not have wanted his brother (who has a prior felony) in on it either. "(Ola) is going to risk it all for a guy he doesn't know? They want you to believe that."

Uche saying prosecutors' allegations re: the motive for the hoax are shifting, from wanting better security to wanting media publicity to "basically start(ing) a race war." None are credible, Uche says.

Uche: "If Jussie was trying to get this on surveillance … why in the world would he need (the attackers) to yell anything? Surveillance cameras don’t capture audio, so who’s the audience?”

"Not only does Jussie have a lack of motive, he has anti-motive," Uche says. He had a major scene coming up on "Empire" and a music video shoot scheduled, Uche says, so Smollett wouldn't have wanted his face or body messed up.

Uche calls the Osundairos essentially lying publicity hounds - "when they publish that book they want to write, it will be hard to get it publicized … they’ve told so many versions that every editor in New York will reject it."

Uche: "Everything (Smollett) said has remained consistent … he didn’t have to say anything about Walgreens" to get the eggs that night. "He is so smart he pays them a $100 bill for supplies but so dumb he gives them $3500 for a hoax?"

Uche: “He’s dumb enough to go into Obama’s city and pretend there’s Trump supporters running around with MAGA hats? Give me a break.”

"The Osundairo brothers had means/motive/opportunity to actually carry out an attack on Smollett, Uche says. "(They) had the resources ... we know Bola wants to be like Pablo Escobar … Ola probably already is like Pablo Escobar."

"The motive, per Uche, could stem from Ola's homophobia -- and possibly Bola's "self-hatred." Bola also wanted to be Smollett's security, Uche said. "

"We're getting into whether or not the brothers asked Smollett for $2 million as extortion ... "their agents called Jussie's agents." This is all per Smollett's testimony, and prosecutors objected to Uche bringing it up, due to lack of evidence. "

Uche bringing up that there was a person on the Empire set who said he had been the victim of a homophobic attack by one brother ... police apparently did not interview this person. (This person also did not testify at trial.)

There was also a bystander about an hour and a half before the attack who said she saw a suspicious-looking white guy in the area with a rope, Uche reminds jurors. (That bystander also did not testify.)

The security guard, who did testify, said he felt pressured to change his description of one possible attacker from "white" to maybe pale-skinned, Uche says. "What in the world is going on?" Uche said.

yep, just that dumb. Hence here we all are, waiting for him to pay for his folly.

Now on to an Uber driver who drove the brothers that night; he said he believed one brother was talking on the phone during the ride, but he never saw the phone. (The brothers testified that they left their phones at home that night.)

"For I think the second time, Uche has hammered on Ola's prior aggravated battery conviction; prosecutors object, Judge Linn sustains. "

Uche noting that another cabdriver told police he thought he saw one of the brothers texting in the cab. (that cabdriver also did not testify)

A CPD detective testified they tried to get video but it had been overwritten, and Uche pointing out that jurors didn't see a report stating so. "If those brothers were not on their phones, let’s see the video even if it’s overwritten" and settle the matter, he says.

Jurors viewing footage of a car on the street near the brothers that night, which seemed to be following them/lingering near them before they got in a cab to leave the scene.

Police didn't follow up about who might have been in that car, Uche said, hinting strongly that the brothers had some kind of accomplice in the car that night.

Defense zooms in on one frame, showing that the driver of that car looks like a white guy. "Who is he? Is he the guy (the security guard) saw?" Uche says. "… you cannot convict a person when there’s doubts."

Webb now showing jurors a list of what he says are six key pieces of evidence "that destroy" Smollett's story about what happened. First is withholding evidence: "I'm telling you if he is the true victim of a crime then he would not be withholding evidence from the police."

https://twitter.com/crepeau

Webb noting that Smollett did not agree to turn over his cellphone, DNA or medical records to police. Smollett testified that it was due to privacy concerns; Webb saying he didn't want to hand over his cell because he didn't want cops seeing his communications with Bola Osundairo

Smollett didn't turn over his phone even though he'd told police he had gotten a threatening phone call a few days before the attack, Webb said. "Police said to Mr. Smollett ... that phone call is critical."
Yes, he's so private, he hit up GMA and a dozen other interviews.

Hope the jury see through this and recognizes a true public relations stunt.

"This case is a crazy case," says Uche, which understates it somewhat.

"Uche is bringing up John Adams' representation of eight British men in the Boston Massacre case. "He tells them, the jury, facts are a stubborn thing. No matter your inclination, your wishes, your passions … You cannot change the state of facts in evidence."

He is not comparing Smollett to the Boston Massacre, Uche says. "What I’m comparing is legal principles, brought over to this country, presumption of innocence, the fact that prosecution must beheld to their burden."

Uche, loudly: "How do I feel about the case? I believe Mr. Smollett is absolutely innocent!"

Uche: "You're at a restaurant, you see hair in your food, do you take out the hair and keep eating? No. You see problems with this case, because it’s nonsense? Not guilty."

I'm not the brothers, or African American, but I am offended by the statement by the attorney in the last part of this post.
It’s as if JS has committed another hate crime against two people who are culturally different than he is. Just when I thought it couldn’t get worse. IMO the jury won’t take long.

I don't understand this guy. He concocted this preposterous hoax as an attempt to get publicity and boost his career. He is not going to go to prison, he will get community service or a fine or probation I expect.

Had he pled guilty, apologized, claimed a lack of judgement due to depression or desperation or whatever, it would have been over. It happened in 2019. People would have forgotten.
Instead he has made it all worse for himself, has likely ruined his career and reputation forever.

Uche wrapping up now, saying Smollett "lived his life (as) somebody who gives money to charity. "The brothers take, take, take, take, take."

https://twitter.com/crepeau

"The brothers were in an interrogation room for nearly two days, and had the chance to speak with each other, Uche says -- indicating, basically, they had a chance to get their stories straight.'

https://twitter.com/jmetr22b

Uche: "This case is crazy. And there a lot that has been said, a lot of assumptions. And it’s been real tough. You have the power. You are the ones to decide whether this makes sense."

Uche showing jurors a "Christmas wishlist" of questions he wishes had been answered. I copied it down for ya:

Uche: "The only principle in this courthouse is the presumption of innocence ... If you believe in that, I need constitutional warriors in that jury room."

Nenye closes: "I want to say thank you for your time. It’s December, I want to wish you a merry Christmas, and I ask you, please be strong.”

I am gobsmacked with the ethic, racial, and defamatory accusations with absolutely no proof.
.
I don't know if possibly the brothers can sue for defamation. They clearly have suffered from this entire hoax.

I hope they find JS guilty, but do have high doubts. Nothing in the justice system in Chicago surprises me any more.
