GUILTY IL - Antinette 'Toni' Keller, 18, DeKalb, NIU Student, 14 October 2010

  • #501

Thanks. Yes I've studied those maps but I still can't quite picture what's what and where. The latest descriptions/pictures have helped yet I'm now thinking that the campsites aren't as far south as some have posted previously. :waitasec:

Exactly where is the yellow police tape in relation to the whole area? Do you know?

adding - Oh are you saying that Prairie Park does not extend all the way down to Fairview Drive? Is the Frisbee/disc Golf not part of PP? And is the disc golf called River Heights Golf Course or is that a regular golf course? I thought the disc golf was within Prairie Park and I assumed the park ran south all the way down to Fairview Drive. I see that No. 22 is Lions Park. On other maps Lions Park looks a little easterly and not attached to PP. If I'm wrong, no wonder I'm confused!

Jumping into this thread, and I have a few questions:

Is this a city community, or are there homes in the area?
And, am I getting this correct, she left on the 14th, afternoon, and the bones were found on the 16th?

Not sure if you are referring to the park itself. Prairie Park is boardered by homes.
Yes, she left on the 14th for a walk and never returned.
Remains were found on the 16th, but not confirmed to the public.

Earlier in this thread, there was a post wherein a young man was reportedly making repeated/numerous trips between the park and the dorms(??) on the night of Antinette's disappearance.

I have looked several times for this post in order to understand what was being said, and if that post might have held a clue or three.

Does anyone else recall reading this post, and if so, do you recall where/when it was made? Is anyone else willing to take a gander to see if they can find the post and then bring it forward for current discussion?

For some reason, when I read that post, it gave me a very sick feeling inside. I have not been able to get it out of my mind since then.

Yes BY was the last person to talk to Toni. Someone else posted they thought it odd that she would ask him to call her after he got out of class because they thought she had a class later on Thursday. Per his info I can find he is from in state for high school but home town is listed as out of state.

actually since a few people have knocked what i said because it's "rumors" or "hearsay" maybe because what im saying about more burned dead bodies is true therefore they wanna know from october 14-october 18....the reason i know theyve found another burned bodies is because i know someone who lives literally across from that park....they can take 5 steps and be in that park.... All i have to say is let the police do their job.... Because it seems like certain peoples opinions or thoughts are being criticized but the ones doing the criticizing are the know it alls! You aren't the only ones who live in dekalb!!!! I am as much concerned as all of you because i have children and i worry about their safety!!! Have a good night everybody!!!

perhaps they only found partial remains on the 16th and found more between the 16th and 18th.

Are you thinking like possibly at other campsites?

:waitasec: Just thinking. :waitasec:

P.S. There is a lot of speculation that goes on here all the time because we are sleuthing and don't have all the information. It gets confusing for sure but when we don't have the facts, it's all we can do.

it sounds like it wouldn't be hard to figure out now...someone that 'borrowed' someone else's car and left the state.

i mean for locals to figure out :)

I wonder where this POI is from? I don't suspect that the person who did this knew Toni. Rather I think it was someone passing through who thought they could just skip town and never be suspected. Hopefully they just made their fatal mistake by taking a local's car.

But then why the obstruction of justice charge? I am thinking someone giving false info when they were questioned got scared and took off.

Wow. I've never seen this map before. It pretty much answers my questions. I had the impression that Prairie Park continued much further south than is shown on this map. Thank you.

That would make sense. I wonder what state they ran off to?

Of someone you know and at times may have allowed you to use their car. Like 'I'm going to the store' and then not coming back. It may cover a broader description but this is how I understand it.

Thank you for that! Kind of like stealing a car, but from a friend! Nice.......

The intersection of Fairview and First is closer to I-88. The greenway extends to there,
but I'm guessing it is not part of Prairie Park.

Either way... I kept a map early on when that location was given as where dogs lost her scent.
I doubt that the dogs were scenting Toni there. In hindsight.

This map shows the area (and is now a moot point):

Update from NBC News Chicago, 10PM tonight...

Police have traveled to Louisiana where the POI is in custody. No charges have been made yet regarding the murder. moo

LE are working on extradition to Illinois.

Cousin Mary is grateful that progress is being made. The family does not want any other family to go through the pain and agony that they have endured.

End of update! This is good news!!!

I posted about BY previously. In my first post, I wondered if he was the ex. Then I read that he had only known her for a week at the time of her disappearance; I then wondered if he might be her new sweetheart. I do not see him as a possible perpetrator. I found what tserpsa mentioned; his home town is listed as out of state but it appears that he has lived in Illinois for some time.

I saw that too, very nice. FYI, you might want to edit it and delete the link we are not allowed to link a social networking site

I'm new here and I have posted links to at least one social networking site. Recently, a mod posted something about what is acceptable. I must have misunderstood. Should I find and delete those links ? They material they link to is still online and available to the public.

Terrific for everybody! Now I'm wondering who she knows that lives in Louisiana. Or, maybe it's someone she doesn't know at all. I really want to know what kind of sick person would do such a horrible crime. moo
