Thats EXACTLY where my mind went. I see it here in FL a LOT. Every child has some issue or another so they can get extra money each month.. and they keep popping out kids each year. My mind NOW is going to.... did she think she would get MORE money from Military for death? I have one tenant that uses the term 'retired' from death of her ex military husband and gets enough each month to not work. I don't think 'mom' is smart enough to know that they weren't married so i DOUBT spousal support happens, since both little ones are deceased too. I know i'm stretching but this is one very 'winding road' type of case.

No marriage, no check. Not even "common law". He was probably not 100% SC, because then, he would have definitely wanted marriage, every dependent is more cash. But if someone is only 30% SC, they don't get more money based on dependents. (Service Connected Disabled).

Hmm. Actually your post makes me think she had the opposite of a monetary motive to want her kids and fiancé gone. Because she’s not eligible for survivor benefits. And with two kids gone she’s down to one SSI child’s payment (which now goes to foster care).

She’s probably on disability herself now though.

There are definitely some disconnects in the story. The kid would probably be better off in a treatment facility than with this particular Mother.

Of note, if the child receives SSI payments, those are given to the institution for the cost offset. And the parent of an institutionalized child, does not qualify for many entitlement programs that are tied to having a dependent child in the home. Which is why many parents do not send their children to residential schools for the blind or deaf, or other disabilities.

Kyle might not be with his mom, he is with a "relative" though.

As an aside can I just say kids these days are growing up in a narcissistic world in which everyone has to have a “channel” and do vlogs and sell “merch” (the kid actually talks about his “merch”, even if they have nothing interesting or funny or unique to say, not talent to display, no actual information to impart.
