You mean get all of the classmate witnesses' info for LE, matched up to their old yearbook pictures?

  • #362
The class picture was removed from the FB page, so we'll have to leave it up to LE to contact whomever they have on their witness list.

If anyone is interested in following Debbies case they can find us here via the links added to the FB memorial page for Debbie.

Not everyone wishes to utilize FB for more than light social networking and I don't want to inundate anyone via FB. Debbies case is too important. I also don't want to step on LE's toes, so like usual, whatever we bring to the table I can pass along and let LE make the decision.

Not sure I understand what you mean rpipergirl.
some elementary schools have yearbooks is what I meant. Also there are city directories to show where people lived during a given year.

bumping for Debbie......

and a little bit of an update from here.

I'm still very interested in seeing Debbies case solved. I've temporarily removed Debbies case and link from my signature line while Websleuths is trying to get new eyes on Anna Waters case- some may have noticed Tricia, WS owner is highlighting the case on our top page in her 'blurb'.

I'm still in infrequent contact with the detective handling Debbies case, and am assured they are still actively working Debbies case. Of course as a civilian and Debbies case being an open investigation they can not share certain info with myself, which I completely understand and support as I would never want to do anything to hamper or impair Debbies case.

He thanked me for my diligence in following the case and bringing any idea's or info we can uncover and bring to the table for LE. That is pretty much all we as sleuths can do....... We are not LE, we are concerned citizens, critical thinkers, victims advocates........ and we are here for Debbie and her family even when we hit luls here at Debbies thread.

I will be honest, the waiting is hard and frustrating.
However, I continue to have faith and I believe the answers -are- out there.
I pray that fidelity to ones faith causes the perpetrator of this crime to come forward with the truth- clear his (or her) conscience and allow this family the justice they have awaited for too long.

I continue to keep Debbies family, friends and the investigators working on this case in my daily prayers that answers are found to finally solve and get a conviction in this case.

Oh, forgot to mention... I'm working with an investigator (retired from working with LE) who lives in the same state as LS. His hands are pretty full with the other case, but he assures me once his time is not so focused on the other case he will see how he can assist us with fresh idea's and research for Debbies case.

It would be great if you could get him to join us here on WS to talk about the case. It is always great when we get LE or retired LE on here.

Cubby, I don't post here, but like I said before, I do check in to see what's going on. When I saw you had removed Debbie's link from your siggy, I was so excited...thinking that maybe an arrest had been made and a trial was forthcoming. I am so, so , sorry that is not the case. I know how much passion you feel for this little girl (and others, as well). Hopefully, the new investigator will find that missing piece of this puzzle and put away the perp. There is no reason, with the technology we have today, that this hasn't been solved. NONE.

:praying: Prayers for Debbie, her family and loved ones, and justice to be served.

Thank you Maia! I am so happy people came here to read about Debbies case due to the link in my siggy line. I will be adding it back soon, once I have a little more time to breathe and am not running running running!

I too pray answers are found for Debbies case soon!

Believe me, if an arrest was made I'd have Tricia add it up in the main blurb if I can catch up with her! I'd be screaming 'breaking news!' from the top of my WS lungs - at least I would if an arrest was made! I think half of DuPage Cty would hear me cheering and hooping it up if an arrest was made! Well, at least everyone within a few block radius of me would! (and my neighbors would think I have lost my mind. ;) )

I do pray daily for Debbies case to be resolved, her family and the detectives handling her case. She is never far from my mind.

Still running but bumping the thread for Debbie.

LE is playing this one close to the vest..
and we would expect and accept no less to ensure a conviction.....

Still praying for Justice for Debbie...

Any news yet Cubby?

No new news on my end.
I'm not in direct contact with Debbies family but do know LE is in contact with Debbies family on a regular/frequent basis.

I'll send an email to the detective working the case next week sometime and ask if he would be so kind as to give me a heads up email if and when any news which can be made available to the public is forthcoming.....

I'm behind IRL this week so will have to put it on the to do list for next week.

If I had to take a guess, and this is pure speculation, I know the lead times for testing DNA evidence can be several months. I can only hope DCS is somewhere in the process with having the evidence reviewed and retested.

Just a thought. I was so worried about getting those pictures of the area taken over the summer and last spring. It occured to me now that the leaves have fallen it is probably better we didn't take those photo's while the area would have looked much different due to the season.

I plan on going and taking the pictures myself in February, when they would be a more accurate view of the area during the season in which the crime took place. So I guess the not having pictures then is a blessing... I will definately take them in February, even if I have to use one of those disposable camera's to do so.

Still praying for answers for Debbies case. For Debbies family and friends. For the investigators working on Debbies case. AND that the perps consciense continues to eat away at him that he might come forward and confess to the heinious crime he commited. I hope he has nightmares and Debbie haunts him in his dreams every night until he comes clean. Especially after so many years that nearing the dusk of his life - he might want to get into heaven and in order to do so must confess, clear his consciense and make reconciliation.

I did a google search to see if we could find anything new on Debbies case and found a post from someone who says she is Debbies Aunt.

It was kind of bittersweet to find now. Debbie had a birthday this month, on the 16th. I always wondered when Debbies birthday was.... She had just turned 10 a few months prior to her murder. :(
I wish I would have found the post in time to post here for her actual Birthday. So, Happy Belated Birthday Debbie! You are not forgotten, will never be forgotten and we will continue to fight for Justice for you until it happens and the person responsible for taking your life is not only charged but convicted and faces long overdue justice. If I live to be 100, I will continue to fight for justice for you until my 100th.

I saw here too Debbies grandma is 95 now, so saying prayers for her too as well as the rest of the family and friends who love and miss Debbie.

The above link says the original suspect is still the primary suspect, (I think we knew that)..... and says evidence IS currently being DNA tested. :woohoo:

I know DNA testing takes a long time, sometimes 6 months or longer. So patience... and prayers current technology will place the perp at the crime scene and LE will have enough evidence to charge and convict!

I found myself wondering again about the clothing LS tried to burn and wondered if any of Debbies dna might be found on that clothing. I pray LE is able to find dna or trace evidence on the clothing which would not be explained by routine contact such as in school. I'd guess Debbies blood would be on that clothing among other things.... Let's remember, dna is not the only thing that can place a perp at the crime......

I can only continue to pray, and WHEN, not if, this goes to trial - I am gonna be there as much as I possibly can. And I hope other local WS'rs will attend. We can all have shirts made with Debbies picture and the words Justice for Debbie. eta: heck, maybe we can even get Shadowangel to fly out and attend with us!

It will happen in time.......

Another WS'r was kind enough to share use of a pay newspaper subscription so over the next few weeks or so (maybe a little longer) as I find free time from RL, I will be going through the more than 100 articles available on Debbies case and adding some of them here.

I'm not sure how soon I can get to this but am hoping to before years end.

One more thing I am adding to my prayer list. As we know, if one confesses committing a murder to a Catholic priest the priest is not obligated to report the crime. What is said in confession remains confidential. A priest is however required to counsel that person to surrender.

I will be praying whichever priests the primary suspect is in contact with counsel him to surrender.

Personally, if I had ever committed a murder, I could not confess only to a priest and feel I made full penance/reconciliation. Keeping that secret or lie would eat me alive. I'd have to confess to the authorities. However, personally I would never murder someone let alone a child. Not even a child not yet born.....but I digress. IF the primary suspect has in fact confessed this murder to a priest and NOT followed the priests advice to surrender to the authorities I wonder how one might believe, or better said fooled themself into believing they've made reconciliation.

just thinking outloud and jmo

Happy Belated Birthday Debbie. You will always be remembered!

Debbie's aunts post really made me sad...how much heartache this family has gone through for so many years.I hope that LE sends ALL evidence off to be tested for DNA....I hope that no corners are cut for this case...it needs to be solved and someone needs to pay the price for this senseless crime!
