I guess there is always a possibility that they were fishing, and someone came up on them and used his gun to shoot Jessi... But being a wrestler and served in the Army, even though he is small (5'8 140lbs) I think he could stand his ground (except from a gun obviously). Carmi is a quiet town. I can't see anyone tracking them down from Facebook. Another thing, Jake loved his truck and never wanted anything to happen to it. I can't see him pushing it down an embankment himself. I would think if he did it, he would have hid her body and taken his truck out of this part of the country. But he would have been on foot way out in the middle of the country. Things just don't add up. There are just so many things that could have happened. Everyone here really just wants answers, along with others. People need to know because nothing ever happens here and nobody knows how to handle it. Everyone is afraid a killer is on the loose here.

baseball40,

a big WELCOME from scorekeeper!! Yes, I kept score in baseball from the time my son was 4 until he went to play college...I know off-topic...

Thank you so much for giving us an overview of area. Sounds like the small county I live in...

I hope and pray that Jacob is not involved and I thank him for serving this great country.

Did he see any combat during his tour of duty?

I would say Jake had been there often. There are lots of little fishing holes out there, so I don't know exact where he was. If he was at the river then yeah I'm sure he had been there a lot. The river is down a lot right now because of the drought, so I don't see how they couldn't cover a lot quickly. I think if he was in there they would have found him quickly.

Makes absolutely no sense to me that he would kill her, and leave her in his truck.... crazy crazy!! I hate to say, I believe there is a killer on the loose and Jacob will be found just as Jessica was. Wonder how long it has been since his parents last saw the gun in the house? Like I said previously, maybe it has been gone for a while and no one has noticed.

Thanks. The story about the bloody man calling in the middle of the night has been corrected and now it says it happened in Burrell’s Woods. I believe this is a camping ground in Carmi? Do you know the location of Burrell’s Woods and how it is related to the camping and fishing place where Jessi and Jake were and the location of the car? Does it make any sense someone ended up at Burrell’s Woods from where the car was found?

I never heard that. Burrels Woods is not very close to there. There are a lot of crazies that camp at Birrels Woods and Some that even stay there permanently. But the thing is... There are no houses at Burrels Woods. There are some by it, but Burrels Woods is a camping ground, which is also where they ran their cross country meets, so Jake would be familiar with that place.
Where did you see the call came from Burrels Woods?

  • #447
He was close to Crossville and Crossville is 12 minutes from Carmi. I would say from the location to Burrels Woods is about 20-30 minutes (10-15) miles from there

There was talk last night on Disclosure FB and I believe one of the people was the father of a guy friend that called her around 11 or so Sat night andtalked to her then tried alittle bit later and she didnt answer her phone. I wonder if her talking to the guy could have set him off if he did it and also if he is on the run if he could be heading to where his wife is?

I can imagine how the locals feel because everything Ive read everyone said he was a nice guy. This waiting for answers has to be hard on everyone that knew him and Jessica. I really hope he had nothing to do with this but if he didnt I dont think it looks good for him either. I dont understand why they havent found him. If he were in that area injured it seems he would have been found.

Okay...I mapped it. From Hanks Ferry Bridge to Burrell's Woods is 15.7 miles, 28 minutes. Hanks Ferry Bridge is where they started the 5 miles river search for Jake.

How is this Disclosure News place getting all this information? Nowhere else in the community nor any other site anywhere is coming out with this information. I would think when this kind of information is released, it would be locally first.

Thanks. That is pretty far if you are on foot. I imagined if someone ran away from whatever happened with Jessi & Jake then he could end up there and make a call to be picked up or something like that. If it is close to a campground with 'crazies' then this story about a man making a phone call at 3am might not be related. Maybe a guy that got into a fight? Either way, if the guy did make a call then they could find out who he called.

Interesting bit about the gun (it), as per the family (they):

They did state to authorities that it was not gone prior to the camping trip for the weekend.

:thud:

Well crap......

There are several reasons why I don't really think he did it, and many have already been stated. Some of my biggest are:

His truck - Everybody seems to agree that he loved it and wouldn't purposely damage it. It would make more sense to dump her body and leave with the truck. I can't see him purposely driving it to where it was found, but I also can't see him (or anybody else) pushing it down there and then running down to grab the keys from it.

Motive - A lot of people seem to think he may have done it because of a rumor that she was going to break up with him. I find it very hard to believe that someone who can make it through an amicable end to a marriage would become homicidal about a possible break up with someone he has probably not been seeing very long. (At least not long when compared to the time he was involved with his wife.)

Others - They were seen together not real long before she died and seemed to be getting along fine, she talked to her mother and nothing seemed to be bothering her, there were no signs of a struggle (I can't believe anyone just shoots a 'loved one' without things building up to that point somewhat.)

This one is probably the dumbest, but it's still something that came to my mind. Being a trained soldier, I can't see him shooting her 3 times. It seems like he'd know he could kill her with one shot, and would most likely do so if he was at all in control. If he wasn't in control, he would probably have emptied the gun.

If he had done it, I don't think he couldn't have gotten far enough away to be safe from police without being seen. Out in the country like that, most people would remember anyone they picked up. It's not like living near a major city where there are constantly cars going by from other cities/states, and I'm sure they don't have that many people going for leisurely walks out there either.

I know these are all generalizatins, and none of them prove he didn't do it. For now, though, they are enough to convince me that there was a 3rd person there, or more.

I am not disagreeing at all, because there are so many questions unanswered. The only thing, though, is that the last time anyone heard from her was Saturday night/Sunday morning at right at midnight, and they weren't reported missing until Monday morning. That means, if he did do it and was on the run, he had from very early Sunday morning until Monday morning at 5 before anyone raised any questions about it. That was a full 24 hours for him to get away.

Just thought of this...say it happened at 1am (giving time after the call from Jessi home, and for everything to transpire)...the call from Burrell's Woods was at 3am (right???) he would have about 2 hours approximately to get 10-15 miles on foot, unless he had someone pick him up. If he was on foot, and saying he ran 10 minutes per mile (he ran cross country in high school) I know obviously 10-15 miles is a long time, but I'm just thinking about this...If he ran 10 minutes per mile for 12 miles, that is 6 miles per hour, and that would add up...but if he was that out of breath, the person asked to use his phone would have been more suspicious and probably would have called 911. I don't understand why the guy didn't anyway. But then again they have ruled Jacob out from making the phone call, so everything I just did probably doesn't even matter. lol

If he did do it...he may have had to leave the truck, if it is was full of evidence.

Been asking myself the same question from the start....and I'm still wondering.

Going back to an earlier story Disclosure ran August 27th @ 7:25pm

http://www.disclosurenewsonline.com/2012/08/27/teens-body-found-male-friend-still-missing/

There's a comment posted under that story by someone claiming to be related to Jessi through marriage & they thank Disclosure for posting accurate info...says she will be waiting for the next update.

:waitasec:

If there's such a thing as ultra suspicious, I'm it - so not a good person to say what that's all about - just putting it out there, fwiw.
