I don't think he was involved in meth. If he were meeting someone, there would be no reason for him to bring her along.

To me, the "meth angle" is that they might have come across a drug deal or a couple of strung-out meth heads who shot them randomly. It has happened here before. Meth can make people really paranoid and crazy.

If LE says they have verified that the person at the door was not Jacob, that means they have spoken to and know who was at the door.

If the branches were arranged in a way to cover her face...that is often indicative of the killer being someone close to the victim. Would be helpful to know if she appeared to be deliberately covered up.

I mentioned this earlier, too, Cluciano....and I think the victim was intentionally covered with the branches. That was my first clue that Jacob may have indeed done this. HOWEVER....do we know if Jessica had any boyfriends in her recent past...boyfriends who may have been jealous? Jacob would not necessarily be the only person who felt close to Jessica....

I wonder if she "checked-in" somewhere via facebook?! I'm wondering, if this is the case, WHO would of been able to track them down. Was their campsite a popular place to go or random?!

This is recent and local - luckily the victim lived - it doesn`t say if drugs were a factor but eye yey yey - shot 5 times over dice!?!?!?!

Man shot following dice game in Centreville
June 6, 2012

This is not local. Centreville, IL is a small town over by St. Louis, in Southwestern Illinois. http://goo.gl/maps/RIOMV

The Centerville in Southeastern IL is not a real town. It's just a name the locals have given to a certain area. The closest town to the area where the murder was is Crossville.

It's not a public campsite. I'm pretty sure they were camping on private property. So probably not a check-in.

Missing Gun, Missing Pieces Remain in Homicide Investigation
August 30, 2012

snipped...Investigators have also gathered cell phone records and financial records for both Wheeler and Evans. As for the missing gun, Sheriff Maier would not specify the type or caliber of the weapon. He also wouldn't release the type of gun used to apparently kill Evans, citing the fact it's an open investigation.

:what:

I was under the impression it - that - Centreville was in White County....

snipped...CARMI, Ill. — Students and faculty at the Norris City Omaha Enfield High School on Tuesday were mourning the death of Jessica Evans, a 17-year-old senior there who was found shot to death Monday northeast of Centerville at a remote location in northern White County.

"There's still a lot of it that's not connecting quite right," said Sheriff Maier. "We're still not ruling out any possibility."

There. We shouldnt feel bad now because it isnt making sense to us either.:rocker:

I wonder (really hope) LE got a chance to interview the young man that showed up with blood on them....

It seems like a very, very big coincidence....if it was "no one", I would think LE would ease the community's mind...

A wee thought i had was what if Jacob did shoot Jessica, maybe through an argument or her wanting to break up with him,i could see him being very upset and crying, now i wonder if he drove the vehicle off the road by accident(because he couldnt see through the tears?) when taking Jessicas body away to dispose of it?.
It may also explain why the body was covered by branches in the back of the pick up..

Now does anybody think that Jessice would have went camping with Jacob if she was going to break up with him?.

To clear up your confusion I'll give you a little summary of Carmi, Crossville, and "Centerville.". I am from Carmi. Carmi has about 4500 people. Crossville has less than 1000. Centerville Road leads from Carmi out into the country, and has roads that go off more in the country towards Crossville, but Centerville Road itself does not go towards Crossville. Centerville is a town known only by people from Carmi and close by. I dont even think its on the maps. Anyway, the road they were on was in the bottoms (way out in the country with mostly fields and thick trees.) I am a friend of Jacob's and I can also clear up a few other things. Jacob worked at Browns Feed Store, and he was not on drugs. He was a nice guy that I can't see doing something like this. Where they were camping was out in the middle of nowhere in the country. Jessi posted on Facebook at 11:50 that she caught her first fish and she was supposed to be home for work at 5am Monday morning. She worked at Dairy Queen in Carmi. Oh and another thing, Jacob left right after we graduated high school and went to the Army. He was recruited in high school. He wrestled and ran cross country. It would be hard for me to believe that he did it, but once I found out the gun was missing, it's hard to say that it wasn't him.

Could he maybe have taken the gun without permission because he thought hed get to put it back before it was noticed missing?.
I dont think if Jacob did it that it was pre meditated..

I just described what I thought about... If I can help clear up anything about the area, just ask and I'll try to clear up as much as I can for everyone that is not familiar with the area.

Welcome to WS and thank you for your post. I just want to say.... hang in there for your friend until proven otherwise. There are many of us here that have never met Jacob but for some reason, we want to believe he is innocent. I even thought maybe Jacob had taken the gun earlier on and it just went unnoticed by his parents that it was gone. It does sound very odd and things are not looking good for him either way. Just hang in there until the details are all revealed. Thanks again for your post.

There has been talk here about the water where they were fishing. In your opinion, is it deep enough for his body to be hidden there and LE just hasn't located it yet?

Is this somewhere that Jacob camped regularly?
