How is this Disclosure News place getting all this information? Nowhere else in the community nor any other site anywhere is coming out with this information. I would think when this kind of information is released, it would be locally first.

I am also a local (not from Carmi, though). Disclosure is a local paper. It is ran by Jack and Angela Howser. Jack used to work for the Navigator-Journal in Albion. He and his wife print Disclosure themselves- it is kind of an "underground" paper dedicated to exposing crime and corruption in Southern Illinois.

They are saying that they have direct contact with Doug Maier, and that is where they are getting their info. They have other sources too, but I haven't seen them post anything that they didn't first verify with the sheriff. As you probably know, there are a LOT of rumors flying around, but Disclosure seems to be trying to only post verified info.

That's probably bc their surveillance video is the kind that loops. Maybe le didn't request video soon enough, therefore it was taped over. Maybe?

There's a comment posted under that story by someone claiming to be related to Jessi through marriage & they thank Disclosure for posting accurate info...says she will be waiting for the next update.

His wife posts under most articles and she's very thankful as well. Today she informed she's in Florida helping her mother pack to move to Texas. She's very gracious for everyone's thoughts & prayers. She always mentions the Evans family and says her thoughts are with them.

I was just thinking ... Maybe they went through the drive thru to get their food then parked in the parking lot to eat hang with friends. We used to do that all the time.

I am not disagreeing at all, because there are so many questions unanswered. The only thing, though, is that the last time anyone heard from her was Saturday night/Sunday morning at right at midnight, and they weren't reported missing until Monday morning. That means, if he did do it and was on the run, he had from very early Sunday morning until Monday morning at 5 before anyone raised any questions about it. That was a full 24 hours for him to get away.

Just thought of this...say it happened at 1am (giving time after the call from Jessi home, and for everything to transpire)...the call from Burrell's Woods was at 3am (right???) he would have about 2 hours approximately to get 10-15 miles on foot, unless he had someone pick him up. If he was on foot, and saying he ran 10 minutes per mile (he ran cross country in high school) I know obviously 10-15 miles is a long time, but I'm just thinking about this...If he ran 10 minutes per mile for 12 miles, that is 6 miles per hour, and that would add up...but if he was that out of breath, the person asked to use his phone would have been more suspicious and probably would have called 911. I don't understand why the guy didn't anyway. But then again they have ruled Jacob out from making the phone call, so everything I just did probably doesn't even matter. lol

To clear up your confusion I'll give you a little summary of Carmi, Crossville, and "Centerville.". I am from Carmi. Carmi has about 4500 people. Crossville has less than 1000. Centerville Road leads from Carmi out into the country, and has roads that go off more in the country towards Crossville, but Centerville Road itself does not go towards Crossville. Centerville is a town known only by people from Carmi and close by. I dont even think its on the maps. Anyway, the road they were on was in the bottoms (way out in the country with mostly fields and thick trees.) I am a friend of Jacob's and I can also clear up a few other things. Jacob worked at Browns Feed Store, and he was not on drugs. He was a nice guy that I can't see doing something like this. Where they were camping was out in the middle of nowhere in the country. Jessi posted on Facebook at 11:50 that she caught her first fish and she was supposed to be home for work at 5am Monday morning. She worked at Dairy Queen in Carmi. Oh and another thing, Jacob left right after we graduated high school and went to the Army. He was recruited in high school. He wrestled and ran cross country. It would be hard for me to believe that he did it, but once I found out the gun was missing, it's hard to say that it wasn't him.

I am so glad he didn't do drugs! By all accounts, he appears to be a wonderful guy. To go right into the service right out of hs, I have to wonder if he ever aspired to go on to a secondary school. Maybe? If not, I wonder why. I know there's a lot of people that feel college isn't their "thing" but I'm wondering about Jacob. What were his goals? What about marriage? If he went into the Army right after hs, when did he meet his wife? When did they marry? The amicable separation, why if they seemed so happy together? When did he start seeing Jessica? His exit interview from the service, did he suffer any complications post war? Was he on medication since seeing much destruction? Lastly, the area where they camped - is it true there's a meth house in the near vicinity?

baseball40, even though Jake & his wife's separation was amicable, was he maybe a little heartbroken over it? Did she "move on" like he did? Who is the one that requested the separation? I'm wondering if he could have held some feelings in, like maybe he messed up in letting her go.

On Facebook, there is a mobile phone number listed, but it is a Texas number, so that could very easily be his "wife's" number and he just never took it off his profile.

I'm not a friend of his on FB so I can't see everything. I can't see the phone # at all. Does he list an email on his FB? I mean, a different one besides the generic FB email?

There was talk last night on Disclosure FB and I believe one of the people was the father of a guy friend that called her around 11 or so Sat night andtalked to her then tried alittle bit later and she didnt answer her phone. I wonder if her talking to the guy could have set him off if he did it and also if he is on the run if he could be heading to where his wife is?

I can imagine how the locals feel because everything Ive read everyone said he was a nice guy. This waiting for answers has to be hard on everyone that knew him and Jessica. I really hope he had nothing to do with this but if he didnt I dont think it looks good for him either. I dont understand why they havent found him. If he were in that area injured it seems he would have been found.

I thought they "talked" via text or on Facebook?
