several people on that Disclosure fb page claim to be friends with Jessica and that she was wanting to break it off with him.

There are also people claiming to be friends with her who say she loved him and wasn't going to break up with him. I wouldn't take anything put on FB too seriously.

I think the poster above made a very good point. Usually the greatest threat is killed first. Because LE said Jessica was killed in the truck bed, I think it's likely she was sleeping. If that's the case and this was a stranger, then Jacob would have likely been found with Jessica.

I hate to say it. . .but. . .I think he was possibly planning a murder suicide, and then backed out of the last part.

Let's face it, LE hasn't said enough one way or the other for us to decipher what's going on. They act like they don't know themselves but surely they have some idea.

To be honest, I can see them being killed because they saw something they shouldn't have...or because they were being robbed. But the simplest answer would be the one where Jessica told Jacob she wanted to break up and they argued...and he snapped. But how would they get to that point when Jessica seemed happy to be there...and happy to be fishing....and spending the whole weekend out with him in the woods camping? I just don't think a girl who wants to breakup would camp out with the guy and act happy and call home happy.

Gee...I'm tired and frustrated.

Ok, so it's a big rural area, sparse with people but known meth labs have been busted there. If there is still meth, that suggests more meth labs due to the setting. If meth keeps popping up, then what company are they acquiring the ingredients from? I know a person can make meth from stuff bought at Walmart or any other drug or convenience store, but the fact that meth labs have popped up on numerous occasions AND the fact that houses have been confiscated due to them being busted for manufacturing of meth - that highly suggests a larger quantity of ingredients would be needed. A person couldn't walk into Walmart & purchase several gallons of ammonia without being questioned - no way. So given the rural setting, could there be a farm store for food & fertilizer stuff? Maybe a larger company that might not notice inventory going missing as compared to a smaller store that holds lesser supply?

Sometimes the tanks are parked overnight in a field. People will steal ammonia from these tanks. There are also farm supply stores like FS that actually sell and refill these tanks. Sometimes people steal from their tanks too. This stuff is EXTREMELY toxic, and siphoning it from tanks is EXTREMELY dangerous, but hey, no one ever said meth heads are smart.

As for the other ingredients, they do come from things like cold medicine. Different people buy as much as they can from different stores like Wal-Mart, CVS, etc. There has been a big crackdown on that; you have to register when you buy, and you can only buy so often in a certain amount of time. Sometimes they break into pharmacies to try to steal drugs, and sometimes they break into peoples' houses to steal their medicines as well. Like I said, it's a big problem here. I can't really describe what meth does to people....it's like no other drug on earth.

I can't get the meth outta my head. Meth labs in houses that are confiscated suggest larger quantities of ingredients in bulk instead of buying a few bottles of cough syrup or ephedrine products. People that make it from allergy tabs & small bottles of ammonia usually mix it in empty soda bottles somewhere nobody else is but the people they're getting high with. Manufacturing meth in a house suggests to me that it's cooked on a stove & larger quantities of ammonia would be used. In such a rural area, there'd have to be a major fertilizer manufacturer around. Something's just itching me, I can't place it...

I'm not putting much stock in the FB rumors especially since "good friends" are claiming the opposite.

I don't have a great theory, I just can't wrap my head around Jacob doing it. On his FB page he mentioned that he had gotten gas and didn't realize that he had canceled the payment and went back hours later red faced to pay for his gas.

I suppose if I use my typical reasoning and logic, then yes he probably did it.

Also on some of his pics he has a work shirt on that says Brown's. There is a Brown Feed and Chemical that comes up for the Carmi area. That kind of fits into the meth theory. :what:

No, I don't know where he worked. I don't know him at all, and I haven't found that info anywhere. If he really did just come back from Iraq, he may not have found a job yet.

In the pics on his FB he was wearing what looked like a uniform. It has his name Jake and then Brown's on left side. Former military, I'm guessing a security job of some kind. There is a Browns security company out of Chicago, but don't know how big they are or if they would handle contracts all thru the state. I just googled Browns security,IL it came up, but I didn't dig any deeper. Maybe the name will ring a bell to any locals.

****As far as wild animals...besides humans, the only critters normally found in this area that would be a threat is a cottonmouth/water moccasin...venomous snake. There may be big cats of some kind....occasionally, but I would think they would be just as afraid of you as you are them. Maybe if there was food left out, etc. Since the migration of the wild hog, that may be a reality also, but I haven't lived there for very long time and hopefully you can comment more on this 88? .....AND there was a supposed sighting in Murphysboro awhile back of BIGFOOT. lol (directly west...almost to the Miss River) TIA

If JESSICA was still missing..and JACOB was found deceased in the bed of the truck,ohhh we'de be ALL over that! But,its the other way around. And,IMO,thats what is so....ummm "backwards"about this case.

When we take a gun fishing or camping with us it is not only for protection against 4 legged animals, but also 2 legged animals. I wish we knew what type of gun it was, because if we take our .22 it's because we plan to shoot some targets.

I guess what I'm wondering if it was a handgun or a long gun. If it was a long gun, then maybe he took it along to teach her to shoot. If it was a handgun she might not have known that he took it with him.

Im assuming since he took a gun from his parents, that he didn't have his CCH.

I know it looks so bad for Jacob, but I still have this weird feeling that he is dead. Absolutely nothing to base it on, but I do not think he is alive.

I also do not believe that he passionately killed her because she broke up with him or found out she was seeing another guy.

For one, she is 17 he couldn't have realistically expected it to last very long.

For two, he is married, who is he to be upset with her talking to other guys?

I could see them sleeping in the back of the truck and getting fired in, Jacob jumps up and makes a run for it, perp follows him in Jacob's truck then follows him on foot and finishes him off.

I'd agree except for the fact she was shot three times execution style. Now if someone else had it out for Jessi, which isn't impossible, then I could see it. Some strange perp would not go to such extreme, imo.
I keep wondering about an X boyfriend of hers or someone who was enthralled with her...maybe without her knowledge. A stalker of sorts who felt he had to protect her in his "love" for her, and then would hurt her for her betrayal...with an older and already married man. You know, the nerdy kind that she may have been nice to that everyone else probably shunned. ?? Nor should we rule out any females. Not in these times.

JMO, I think JW was jilted and used big time by his older, pretty wife. I believe her "assets" hooked him well and she married for the income...as well as knowing he would be out of picture most of the relationship. Giving her the freedom to do as she pleases. He comes home and she moves on. Maybe a long shot...but I wouldn't rule her out either. Then we have the vet who comes home with PTSD, a downed economy, in a very hard hit area that hasn't seen a good ecomony in decades really. Coal mines shutting down and farming not that popular among the offshoots. Populations in rural S. IL have been dwindling since the 60's. Blue collar goes to TX, OK or LA for the oil industry. College kids head to the city. JMO, etc.

Yes, definitely. This is a rural area. The farther south you go, the less populated it is. There are houses along those back roads you're looking at- it's not all just barns and silos. But the houses are spaced pretty far apart. It's definitely possible for someone to sneak around through the back woods and not get caught. The moon is full, too, so that ads enough light that he might be able to see if he is on the run.

If you go really far south into extreme Southern Illinois, there are actually large wooded hills (or small mountains, however you want to look at it). The whole area is called the Shawnee National Forest. Someone could DEFINITELY hide out there. Thought I doubt he could make it that far on foot in such a short amount of time. It's a good 45 minute drive from Carmi; walking would take much longer.

Little known fact: After the last ice age, the glacier stopped in S IL. All the boulders and earth it carried were dumped there causing giant hills, cliffs, etc. Beautiful....and such a diverse area of land after miles of miles of flat farmland that covers 90% of the state.
