I can't get the meth outta my head. Meth labs in houses that are confiscated suggest larger quantities of ingredients in bulk instead of buying a few bottles of cough syrup or ephedrine products. People that make it from allergy tabs & small bottles of ammonia usually mix it in empty soda bottles somewhere nobody else is but the people they're getting high with. Manufacturing meth in a house suggests to me that it's cooked on a stove & larger quantities of ammonia would be used. In such a rural area, there'd have to be a major fertilizer manufacturer around. Something's just itching me, I can't place it...

I am jumping in..

but don't people using and/or making meth leave behind odorous residue?

So wouldn't there possibly some evidence in/on the truck and/or camp, site?

Just a thought...

and Yes... Apparently I really enjoy using slashes,in my posts!

If LE says they have verified that the person at the door was not Jacob, that means they have spoken to and know who was at the door.

Not necessarily... Maybe the guy was a different race as someone suggested? Idk but look at this:

The one rumor that was floating around Tuesday night that HAS been confirmed is the one originating from the Burrell’s Woods (CORRECTED) area: that a local man, Jimmy Howell, had a young man come to his door at about 3 a.m. Sunday morning, having blood on him and wanting to use his phone. Maier said his staff did indeed check that one, and Howell did indeed have someone come to his place under that exact circumstance, but when checked, it was determined that this WASN’T Jacob Wheeler who had blood on him and wanted to use Howell’s phone. We don’t know who it was. But it wasn’t Jake.

What are we missing? Where could he be if he's still alive? Would he have the know-how of building a makeshift bunker? What about shelter? Food? I mean this isn't Man VS Wild but it does make me wonder if Jake has the know-how to survive right now... Army or not, still I wonder.

How do they know that? Did the guy that called know Jake so they could eliminate him? How else could they know it wasnt him?

Little known fact: After the last ice age, the glacier stopped in S IL. All the boulders and earth it carried were dumped there causing giant hills, cliffs, etc. Beautiful....and such a diverse area of land after miles of miles of flat farmland that covers 90% of the state.

No idea but the comment previously about the guy maybe being a different race could add up. Maybe the media will clarify this soon...

If someone came to my house in the middle of the night with blood on them Id be asking questions, has there been a wreck etc and called 911.

Yes... I am thinking the same thing...

I would like to think that I would ask questions... Call 911.....all in all find out who this bloody stranger is, and what is happening,

However.. I may be scared spitless, too... And not achieve anything but pee-peeing on the floor!:what:

My random thoughts....

Respectfully, I think the Meth angle is a bit of a stretch. It seems like I see this proposed in virtually every case I have followed, and inevitably it's something far simpler. And in this case I think it's even more unlikely.

Most Meth these days, from my understanding, is someone cooking it up for themselves and perhaps their friends. It's not a great money drug because any addict can make it themselves if they want to. Further, it seems extremely far fetched that these two kids "stumbled" into a major meth operation in that location, but the hundreds of police did not. And it's not like it was a drug exchange in the middle of nowhere, the drug lords would have simply driven a hudred yards further and done their thing. Assuming, of course, that they didn't just exchange their drugs in the McDonalds parking lot.

As far as the gun. The guy was in Iraq. While there he probably learned two very important survival lessons. First, the most dangerous animal on earth walks on two legs. Second, bad things happen fast and it's better to be armed than not. He probably felt very uncomfortable unarmed.

I can think of a lot of scenarios that explain the limited information we have. Some starring this guy as the killer, but most do not.

If I were to hazard a GUESS, I think they did stumble into something, and that something was a killer. I suspect he killed them both, drove the truck off the road, then put the guy's body into his own vehicle before driving off with the body. Alternatively, Jacob's body is right there and the searchers have missed it.

If he did do it, from that moment on he's had BIGGER things to worry about than his precious truck.

:twocents:

Of course.

I think I now realize what it is that's bothering me about the Jacob as culprit scenarios. It is NOT in any way conclusive, but rather just a bit suggestive.

* Three (ish) shots to the head suggests someone with self control. It's not definative, but it seems to lean that way.

* If, and this is speculation, but if Jacob did decide to murder her it seems reasonable to believe that it would have been more a crime of emotion. It seems unlikely that he was a psychopath with a great public personality.

* The guy who put three bullets into her head executed her.

* IF Jacob was that executioner, if in some cold analytical way he decided she had to die, I would almost expect him to have taken her home then killed her at some future less incriminating moment.

* IF we are to believe that Jacob executed her, we need a reason why that involves more than a simple break-up. And further, we almost have to believe that he was either an emotionless psychopath.

ALL MY OPINION, RANDOM THOUGHTS, ETC...

But she was not sexually assaulted? That seems unusual to me, if this was a stranger, or random.
