Can you figure out , logistically, the speed of trains going by near the location of the murder - I am wondering if they hopped a train, but, obviously if its going 75 ...................................

CARIIS, what is wrong with you? how many hours do you have! After several years in the field I came to the conclusion that we are the craziest people on the planet - the key is only to keep your sh$t out of your work with clients!!!

Well I'd be crazy if I had to listen to me all day.
Wait, I do!

Punchy anyone?

  • #323
LOL CARIS...I love you, but you always think that somebody hopped a train! Not out of the question, but wouldn't LE know? JMO

Can't really answer right now. But, ….. if it was your loved one, when would you like to be informed that not all is as it seems to be?

does that mean the notion of suicide resonated with you?

I am also a local. While I haven't been to the old cement factory, I've been a patient (well, my animals have) at Fox Lake Animal Hospital since I was a child. There's a wooded area right behind the animal hospital (I guess really in front of it, since the wooded area is across the parking lot from the vet's front door) & every time I've had to take one of my dogs there to go potty, I've thought about how creepy & isolated it feels.

IMO, there is absolutely no way the Lt. took his own life. I did not know him personally, but I know many people who did. There is not a single person on the street here who thinks this was a suicide.

I'm not LE, nor am I into the drug scene, but I've heard that Fox Lake has been having some drug problems lately. I suppose what small town doesn't, though...

Also, Fox Lake is not upscale. It's home to working class people & a place where many go for water recreation when the weather is nice. There are also several bars there. It has a rural, small town feel, IMO.

I believe the killers are locals who somehow managed to slip back into their regular lives & elude the manhunt. I hope once forensics come back, that LE will have more to go on.

I've also wondered if it might be teenage perps, what with the high school being so close by, & with the odd time of day for people to be out acting suspiciously.

The police here are good, dedicated people. They will find these perps. It's just a matter of time. They are smart, too, & know their work. (I agree that the dumb reason given for not being able to view the video was a stall tactic. I'm sure they've seen the video. No doubt.)

Rest in peace, Lt. Justice is coming in your honor.

Visitors would be wise to keep in mind the DUI patrols. Geesh.
Nothing new since this morning.

Yes, there are already commercials and news reports traffic patrol will be looking for those driving under the influence AND those using cell phones. Hands free only in IL.

ha ............ only with the prison break guys! This is my second gang of train hoppers,,,,,,,,,,,,,but Steelman is going to answer that for us! Obviously if the trains in terms of distance, from the station, are at 75 ! And then I thought these are passenger trains (but does freight run too?) passengers would say I just saw three people hop aboard!

Lookin for answers and its probably easy , just like our jailbirds there are hanging low in a empty house, chilling , and if the owner comes this weekend they will kill em ,

It does sound odd:

If the homeowner can view it he or she can't let LE watch it on the same system? Or is the homeowner also unable to view the recording? How hard is it to pull off the hard drive? If they did have to send it to DHS for viewing wouldn't it be like a huge priority?

I don't know. It doesn't make sense. Why are they stalling? Whatever is or isn't on there must be very big.

Illinois has no budget. Nothing is happening, literally. It is possible the no budget thing has now started expediting case information so it was sent to an agency not relying on No Budget Illinois (aka Ill annoy).

Snipped by me to save space---

Gliniewicz didn't kill himself...........no way..........no how.

Not knowing what happened I don't ever jump to this conclusion.
Some people, right or wrong, go there quickly imo.

If there is any possibility of truth to the suicide theory, can you imagine how difficult it would be for fellow officers to accept or even ponder this possibility especially so soon after his death?
Also consider the call CG made framing three individuals who don't really exist, his retirement coming up soon though some men don't want to retire (so may provide a reason to be unhappy), two wounds if true and gun away from body if true. It seems as if the people who surrounded him would be completely clueless as to his self destructive mindset. The man had four children too.
There would have to be reasons and we know none of them so why speculate suicide?
I don't understand.

If true, CG went crazy or something else very bad must have been going on in his life behind the surface.

THANKS! Please keep posting. I agree that the perps could be locals and that whatever they did thereafter did not raise suspicion. JMO

LarkBunting: Been a rivoting thread tonight , so, I am thinking ok the teens thing makes sense (I think) so we got three teens high, see a cop , flip out , but then I thought , (I have never seen or touched a gun in my life!) Lark, is it plausible whatever, that teens in that area are cruising around with a gun? Cause they got it wrong right? that the cops gun was not taken ----- I guess I am asking (sounds like sterotyping) but there are realities here--- folks are not packing in Boca Raton FL!!

So, would it be surprising to you if we found out they were out and had a gun on them, Lark?

I think you might have a handle on this situation. Monday will be a hard day for everyone up there. They need to get through this, take a deep breath, and wait for the outcome. It is very sad, no matter what.

This being said ... Monday is Labor Day. Chief says the beer is flowing, don't let our little problem keep you from coming up, we will be having a Law Enforcement Funeral (I hope with all the frills), but all you Labor Day celebrants .. well, come on up and party on!

My heart goes out to the family, friends and coworkers of Lt. Gliniewicz.

I've asked about the drug problem, thanks, so there is drug problems, and I agree what small town doesn't. I've wondered about teenagers, for the same reason you described. I believe it is drug related, I've been trying to come up with another reason why 3 males are hanging around a closed business in the early morning. Until more comes out, I still believe the officer knew the guys, or they are young and looked nonthreatening at first glance.

ABC7 Chicago 6:00pm newscast- Chuck Goudie.

I hope this newscast is up on their website soon. Questioned if there was any proof there were three suspects other than the radio call made by Lt.Gliniewicz. Questions as to why there's no info given to the public. It seems there's starting to be MSM doubt as to what really happened. I don't have a link as I just watched it on TV.

I watched it too. He's asking the same questions we've been asking. I think he might be reading WS.

Curious what time the Vet opens. Are animals kept there overnight?
Vets keep drugs people can take too. Desperate druggies might go there to steal drugs.

Makes me wonder if CG was suspicious considering the three were near the Vet business.

Until tonight I never thought about suicide ----however, especially for males, much of their identity is caught up in vocation - its just American society. I dont know if it is forced (age) but for a male, with four kids, to approach not having anything to wake up and do can be daughting

the kids are off being kids

killed in the line of duty keeps money in line

Killed in line of duty is much better than killing yourslef

I am not saying I am into the suicide notion, but I am saying, tongiht the thought came up and in pondering it it could be a viable notion ...........30 years...................there could be a bunch of dynamics here

Dont know cop stuff , but is it "real" that a cop would just call in and say suspcious people or would one say three X loitering around X

I mean there would be a difference if they were hanging out at a bank compared to hanging out around some trees- would one not call in what behaviors are making him think they are up to trouble ??/ I see three teens playing with guns, swords, etc !

Would not the first call in be more informative so that the agency could determine if they outght to get back up instnatly

suspicious I see three dudes playing with daisies

or I see three teens playing wiht AK 47 's seems like the call in would be relevant
