CG said that the 3 were running AWAY from him...but in order to wrest the gun from him, at least 1 had to turn and run toward him. Had to physically contact him to get the gun. JMO..............also, plenty of time for CG to shoot whoever was approaching him. JMO

And what reason would someone turn around or stop to fight a cop with a gun?
We can probably assume the perp had no gun because he didn't use it and decided to take Joe's and use his. Because if another gun that didn't belong to Joe was used it wouldn't be suicide on the table.

My husband, who doesn't put up with my case talk too much, just told me he heard the illness theory (talk within the place he stops to drink a beer). I couldn't believe anyone he knows was talking about the case. Now he thinks he has the answer. ugh!

If so, they might wish that they had communicated that to Rudd.....JMO

Why? Did Rudd comment about a witness recently?
My mind doesn't register brief comments sometimes.

Hmmm...see? we are not nuts! Do they think possibly cancer? JMO

Toxicology?
Didn't Filenko say the toxicology would be interesting? Or was that rumor?

Not that I know of. My post was in response to another post about LE not wanting to jeopardize witnesses. JMO If there were witnesses, they should have told Rudd.

That was my post, silly!
How has Rudd jeopardized a witness?
My mind is drawing a blank.

Meaning if someone told LE something important that leads away from suicide theory.
True, could happen. But then like cady said they probably should have clued Rudd into it.

Besides Rudd can't just fabricate a MOD to support some secret investigation. At the most he would just not rule on it. But they would have needed to inform him why he should wait on the MOD

Yes, Filenko mentioned toxicology early on. Nothing that I have seen has been mentioned of it since.

I would also say that in that case LE is running the risk of having made false statements.

In those cases they would just not say anything to the press. But then that is assuming the task force sought legal council before doing something like that and then lying in press releases.....

He only stated "illness".
Did someone read that here or is it a rumor going around stemming from somewhere else?

Interesting.

Why don't the press keep on them about these things? It is so frustrating.

Thanks

I believe I was the first to post on here that he might be ill. I thought of it after seeing pics of his cigarettes in his cruiser on the news and a friend saying he smoked after every run.

I have discussed this on a LE forum I am on and in real life too.

Woe! I did not say that! Maybe go back and read the posts. All I was saying was that if LE has witnesses, they should have told Rudd that three weeks ago.....I said nothing about Rudd jeopardizing witnesses. JMO

LE hasn't said anything to the press.
Don't twist my point please. LE doesn't have to reveal witnesses and I don't believe they have to show all their cards prior to an arrest being made (or even before a trial which is frustrating indeed).

Therefore, what false statements?
We've all heard of the witness protection system, for instance.

I know there has been talk about a possible drug deal gone wrong. Google "Fox Lake Drugs".

According to my daughters friend it is a well known heroin hotspot in the area although I can't see a drug deal leading someone to kill a cop unless there were excessive amounts.
