I think all we know is that she was notified by the recently retired Fox Lake Police Chief, Michael Behan. Do not know where or when.

Yes, it is strange indeed. No mention of the alarm you would think we would read based on unknown assailants. Which makes me think they have an idea as to what is going on. They are discussing a lot of hurt right now, seems deeper than just Lt. G being gunned down. Whether that be suicide or this was an inside job? Was it one of their own? And they have this knowledge? I only posted some of the commentary, the rest is in the link.

Just reading the details of this case so I don't know much about it other than I did hear the news the day it happened.

Regarding bolded items. I wonder if maybe he ran into 3 people that were doing something illegal like maybe a simple dope deal or maybe selling materials from the business nearby and this officer happened upon them. Maybe one happened to be someone he knew personally and he came out of the woods to fake give himself and maybe the person overpowered him and took his gun and the first shot knocked him down and he tried to run off and since he was probably stumbling and hurt from the impact maybe the other guy didn't want to shoot him again until he had a better shot knowing he had a vest on so maybe he only shot that last shot when the officer had finally ran stumbled as far as he could.

This case is very strange based on what we know. Its hard to imagine the 3 guys got away and so I see how other ideas and theories are being entertained. It is all so strange.

I suppose its possible that 2 guys drove off and he gave chase on just the last guy. That may explain how 1 guy got away since it would be easier to hide if it was just 1 person trying to hide from all the officers that showed up.

Its so bizarre.

I don't know if I buy the theory of a possible accidental suicide by trying to make it look like he was capturing 3 guys because lets take that one a step further. So lets say he didn't kill himself but had 2 bullet hits and survived but then the 3 guys never get captured. I am not sure if the officer would get a hero type thing out of that since the 3 guys never got captured or even existed.
Maybe that theory would work if he wanted to wound himself. Maybe he thought it would be a flesh wound and the bullet richocheted off the vest and it killed him instead.

Its just hard to imagine that he would do that. Not sure why he would consider that unless he never had a big case and wanted to have a big case on his record.

Its just a tough pill to swallow that one.

I need to go back and read much more because I only read some initial parts of this and I don't have enough to form an opinion yet. Just wanted to throw some initial thoughts out here for now.

Everyone is doing a good job of carefully considering different theories and I think that is a good thing to be open minded on this case.

I only give poor reporting the first few days after an incident occurs. I don't have time to go look back now but some of the misinformation/conflicting infkrmation came out more than a week after the shooting occured.

In general, as for this being being a pro suicide or anti suicide, or pro LE or anti LE camp, jt is unfair to lump people into either category. I consider myself in the pro TRUTH camp, whatever that truth may be on a CASE BY CASE basis.

It is my opinion that there are several of us who are approaching this case from a perspective of suspicion about LE. There are several of us approaching this case from the perspective of deference to LE. I think both of these "camps" are seeking the truth.

Just talked to my new neighbors who moved here from three miles of the area where this happened. They said no one bow hunts at that location. They also said this area is very small and not what I think of as a swamp. They said it is a bog. Also many businesses nearby.

My husband usually didn't wait on backup. Also when an officer works more years they become lax about more situations than a young officer would.

I would think that getting knocked down as if hit by a sledge hammer would at least result in some sort of visual mark on the skin where the impact happened on the vest, if not, bruising. The Coroner said there were no physical signs of struggle, so if there were signs of struggle, where were they? On clothing? On the ground? Who removed the clothing? I wonder how anyone knows that he was ON FOOT for 20 minutes before the report. That is a very long time. If he only called in the report when the two white guys and one black
guy were leaving his sight, were they nearby and in sight for 20 minutes prior? My doubt of homicide remains....for all the same reasons as before. Evidence of struggle would have been noticed immediately. JMO

Yes, and they would know if he carried a bug ( back up gun). Most cops these days carry one. It's concealed, easy to get to and generally only have a thumbstrap if that for retention.
