Yes, he wanted the postilion in Fox Lake and Lakemoor.

It was only a matter of days that the position was available before his death. And this is the 1st I've heard about the Lakemoor position. Could you elaborate on this information?
I've never been down that road, but considering years of concrete trucks going over it, the dry conditions, lack of vegetation on the road itself, I'd say it is pretty hard pact.
It was a cement plant. There is bound to be lots of sand, asc and powdered (pulverized) limestone along that road.
It is near perfect for catching foot prints.
One of my main customers used to be a Concrete plant. As hard packed as some of the areas were. there were many more covered in fine dust like powder. Even concrete surfaces were covered in it.
When it rained, it was like mud or plaster (perfect for prints) and when it was dry, it was like powder again. Also good for showing footprints, tire tracks, etc.
I had him closer to the former cement plant. We know he wasn't on the road, because if he was on the road it wouldn't have taken several minutes to find him and they wouldn't have had to use machetes to cut away at the brush at the crime scene.
"The guys had to go out and buy machetes and weed whackers and they've been chopping this stuff out of the way and turning over every leaf and did locate something that will be significant down the road," Covelli said.
LOL is all I have to say.. You don't have all of the facts. Nobody in the public has all of the facts. Much that has been In the media is UNTRUE.
I will say this, there is discord between agencies. The FBI and the DHS ,,,, however there is a lot of evidence. It is an active and ongoing investigation,,,, So I appreciate them preserving the facts until there is a prosecution. Which won't come anytime soon.
It wasn't suicide.

I have to politely disagree with everything in this post except that it was a cement plant.
I have a question. Did I miss where it said that he (The Lt.) was not being considered for the Fox Lake police chief job? I was under the impression that no decisions were made as the Chief decided to retire in light of him being put on administrative leave. You can read the Chief's remarks about his retirement in the Village Agenda that I have linked numerous times.
I just want to make sure we clarify if we are speculating because a lot of times this information gets thrown around as if it's been verified as fact and it gets confusing.
Considering he was planning on retiring and planning for a Chief job elsewhere. Would the process be the same if he was also up for consideration for Fox Lake Chief? Would he retire and then take his position as Chief? As far as we know the interim Chief was named after the LT. passed away. How are we to assume that he didn't meet with the Mayor because he was being considered for Chief? He was after all present at the last Village Agenda meeting.
Yep. We've weaved back and forth between the cases a bit up-thread. That case was and has recently become (with that new CBS report) a real mess. A good amount of mistrust around several players in both cases. I worked with the father of the boy years ago. Such a sad thing. Not to derail the thread or any other topics with this - but has anyone else watched this video? It's a completely different case (from Fox Lake) but it really sheds some light on the rift between the Police Department and the Coroners office.
Pay close attention to who these authorities are.

Don't believe it has been a working plant for some time. It is Prairie Material - Yard 23, but is not listed as an active location on their website. Some reference to permits for wastewater discharge into the Nippersink Creek watershed, but not much else out there.Did the cement plant send out mixer trucks everyday to customers. Or did they handle another aspect of the cement business?

Bona Dea. We have been speculating and giving probable theories from day 1.
But here you go sounding like you know what's going on and think it's funny that we are fishing in the waters we were given.
So if you know some insider information. Then share it or a little of it or leave our little speculations be for now.
But hopefully Rudd knows what you know. Because he seems clueless at the mod as well.
So please explain if okay to do so. But until then; our speculation will continue until a public official or verify insider announces something. Jmo
Btw. I meant no harm. I'm just looking for answers now. And it seems like you know something. Jmo
I believe this for a multitude of reasons. Thanks for sharing. Are you saying the discord is between the two federal agencies and the local or between one another (FBI to DHS)? Is the Lake County task force the lead in this case or did it become federal somehow?
Again, I spent many a day working on the radios in the trucks at concrete plants. . . but what would I know from my own personal experiences.
Right?
If the Mayor offered Lt. G the Chief of Police job, he probably wouldn't have withheld the information from his wife though.
What if Lt. G, in some way, felt responsible for Chief Behan's troubles?
CB retired on August 27th but not before he was suspended.
The situation would be uncomfortable for CB and those who considered themselves his friend.
While researching heliports and FAA rules for flying helicopters, I came across an article about a Police Chief from Kankakee County, who abused donations he collected in support of a police aviation program.
In May 2015, he was convicted of fraud, money laundering and tax evasion. He went to prison on August 11 for 27 months and will have three years probation and owes financial restitution.
People still support him and say great things about him.
He spent $186,000 on personal purchases out of the $350,000 he received in donations meant to support LE helicopter use.

More overlooked stuff must have been going on within the Fox Lake PD other than just the one incident involving the maltreatment of an intoxicated person not being handled properly to suspend the Chief. Why isn't the public privy to all the findings that led to the suspension?
Especially, considering the timing, the aviation thing caught my attention.
Some posted a long time ago that three tasers had been purchased by FLPD for the amount of $7,500. Someone else posted the figure seems too high. Was Fox Lake PD overspending and laundering like the example I linked to was doing?
Plus I'd still like to know if a helicopter came or went the morning of Sept. 1. Also noted, the additional flight crew used to support the Coast Guard on the waterways are seasonal hires. They work beginning mid May until the day after Labor Day when recreational boating decreases.
