Melodie Gliniewicz's trial date set for late May

Lake County Judge James Booras scheduled the case to go to trial May 24 and set a pretrial hearing for March 16. Booras noted the date might be changed if there are other cases also set to go to trial at that time.

Village of Fox Lake pays $1 million settlement to wife of disgraced police officer Joe Gliniewicz​

The village has paid a $1 million settlement to the widow of former Fox Lake Police Lt. Joe Gliniewicz, both of which prosecutors say stole money from the explorer’s post before the officer staged his suicide as a murder and spurred a manhunt in 2015.

The Village of Fox Lake Police Pension Board approved the settlement agreement during a special meeting in November.
