“Stuff from nightmares”.

But there was something sticking out of BG’s mouth is some photos. I never thought of what it was (as it looked like some sort of a nebulizer tube). But maybe if he is wearing a mask, he needs a tube for breathing?

Some people think he had a go pro mouthpiece to take photos.

LE didn't catch up with him in time to check for scratches, bite marks or bruises. But if this killer didn't use a gun, a blunt object or otherwise strangle at least one of the victims, that leaves a knife. And while I wonder if he did use a knife, its almost impossible to avoid getting blood on yourself. I used to have nosebleeds off and on and even had my nose broken. That broken nose in elementary school left blood all over my clothes in no time. Also from deer hunting, I know that I've ended up with blood on me. If any of these witnesses really got close to this killer afterwards I would think there would be blood on his clothing. That makes me think the witnesses - IF they did see this killer and not someone else - either saw him before the murders or from a distance.

During a live chat Kelsi did last year on her YouTube channel, someone asked her if she was afraid knowing that BG was still out there. Her reply was, “No. If he is who I think he is, he won’t hurt me.” I’m not entirely sure what she meant by that or if she had simply worded her response wrong, but it was a pretty startling response and I something that has stayed with me all this time.
What about garrote or any other strangling device? If we assume everything was the way we were told, and the girls were killed where found.

She's a victim. She doesn't have to explain anything to the public.

she should be asked to clarify that. I’m sure LE must have made her explain because there was a lot of talk about it.

The beginning of your theory (BG lingering near the trailhead watching who may come and go) matches what I'm thinking. In your timeline, what's the time you think he walks away from the crime scene to make his exit?

And where does he go from there? I would think he came up the steep bank on the northside near where the graveyard was and probably had his car or truck within walking distance of that. Double back along the steep bank on the north side would keep him hidden but only until he got on the trail.

Do you think there is any way that LE knows how he left the scene... at least in what direction?

gotten specialist in flieds trained to find that 1 piece of the puzzle. Fields not flieds

Duh. I should have figured that out. Thanks!

I think it’s just the white ties to his hoodie blowing in the wind. The cheapest hoodies sold by one of the largest big box stores only comes with white ties, regardless of the colour of the fabric.

I tend to believe this time frame. What has caused me doubts with it, though, is the latest "True Crime Garage" podcast discussion. In the podcast, the host states that LE (Carroll County Sheriff?) says the crime was not recorded. (I don't believe he provides a reference.) Then he goes on to point out that with an iPhone if a call comes through the video is ended. He asks the rhetorical question that if Liberty's father calls at 3:11 PM could this have been when the recording ended. If he has a valid point it puts the time of death at about 3:11 or later and the killer leaving the CS at about 3:15 to 3:30. What I don't know is how long will an iPhone continue to record before it stops? Liberty would have probably started it around 2:15-2:20. Would it continue to run on record for 20-30 minutes without any action by the holder? Barring the charge running down I have no idea how an iPhone would continue to run without any further action by the holder.

It will record until the battery runs down or it runs out of memory/storage space. I have done that by accident a time or two. Or possibly the incoming call--I'm not sure about that. I'm pretty sure I've had recording continue while the phone was ringing. Not one hundred percent positive about that though.

He wouldn’t hurt Kelsi yet he would murder her sister.

That is a pretty startling response and no wonder it stuck with you. So what is the difference between the sisters that one is not afraid and the other one was so indispensable to BG.

Is there some kind of clue in that statement?

I believe that this is the 'Renner Debunk' video that Kelsi did that you are referring to where she made that statement.

It was posted and discussed here at WS on July 9, 2019.

She mentions it at the 51:08 mark.

When asked if she feels safe, she says, “Yeah , I feel safe. Umm..listen, if he was the person he is, he's not gonna come after me."

When someone comments on this in the chat, Kelsi personally responds to the comment and clarifies her statement.

Hope this helps.

So if the podcast quoted LE accurately and the murders were not recorded then unless Liberty turned off the video it might have been recording right up until 3:11. (Why would Liberty turn it off, unless she did it by accident just like some folks have butt dialed a number.)

That is one of my most likely scenarios. The other is he went up the steep bank but stayed just inside the tree line for as long as he could and then went Hwy 300 to the abandoned CPS building. Assuming that he parked there. I can't help but think if he planned to kill a victim or victims AND he knew the area he might have tried to avoid the trail on the way out.

I'm thinking again about the aftermath of the murders and the killer leaving the scene. Derrick German, Liberty's father, comes to the trail to pick them up shortly after 3 PM. He walked down all of the trails and I've never heard if he is one of witnesses that sees the killer. This is a guy who is searching for the two girls and probably covering the ground fairly quick since he has that single minded purpose. (I don't know where he parked. I've heard near the Freedom Bridge and I've heard off 300N in the now closed Mears lot.) If DG didn't see him what are the chances the killer left the crime scene and never went back to the trails?

She is just so adorable, and Libby just looked so much like her.
I get such a profound sadness watching her video, but I am impressed with her determination. What a great young woman.

She seemed to indicate that she thinks she has a pretty good idea of who the Perp is, and she's not afraid of him. This is really very interesting. And I believe her - she can take care of herself and is likely packing; it's legal in Indiana with a permit. I would be!

Well I hope the confidence Kelsi portrays is an indication that LE is on the right trail. I know we are all eager to see this cowardly loser publicly humiliated and locked up for the rest of his worthless life. We need a special law for these heinous murders where we give them an option - they can euthanize themselves, or they get chain gang for life. So yeah, maybe harsh but our criminal punishment today doesn't seem to be much of a deterrent.

Stepping off my soap box.

Amateur opinion and speculation

It makes me so sad to see how her demeanor changes when reading and responding to that question. I just can not imagine what she is going through daily.

Let today be the day

I wasn't able to locate the chat, but I did not take her comments to mean that she has a particular suspect in mind. I took her remarks to mean that BG proved himself to be a craven who goes after young teen girls, and that someone that cowardly would not dare to take on a self-confident adult female.

Here is what comes to mind for me, based on my personal theory of the crime: Kelsi believes the killer was a pedophile, therefore as a young adult woman, she would not fit his victim profile.

However I would say that a ruthless killer may not kill for the same motives, but if they believe someone as a threat to them I think they would not hesitate to act. I don't think she knows who it is, maybe just why he killed them.

today wont be the day unless they start doing something different IMO

I would give her a lie detector test and ask who she was chatting with online that may have had access to know those girls were there that day. IMHO

I disagree, not when it comes to solving the brutal murder of two angels and stopping any more children from being killed but his SK.

that makes no sense on Kelsies part because thinking and knowing are 2 diff things, bring her in for questioning

You don't think she hasn't been questioned by LE multiple times? But a lie detector test? She is not a suspect. There is no indications that she wasn't completely cooperative and that she isn't committed to helping find out who killed her sister.

As far as them being in contact with somebody, it's been three years - They have Libby's phone, that was the first place that they started looking. If there was actual contact they would've found it by now. Random crimes of opportunity do happen.

I don't know why the FBI didn't haul them all in and interrogate everyone. I have 0 tolerance for this crap. First off there is a serial killer on the loose preying on kids, second he as already brutally killed 2 beautiful children who had their whole lives ahead of them. Third how much money has this investigation already cost, now I understand that people under stress will say whatever but come on..this is ridiculous
